Chiropractor/Herbalist Bob Thiel is setting Harold Camping's cult straight with the 'truth of gawd." Bob wants Camping's group to know that they have been deceived. They are fools because they have wrong dates and wrong theology. Only God's revealed word through Roderick (Spanky) Meredith contains the true word for all humanity.
And of course, since he ignored the calendar in the Bible, Harold Camping did not even have the correct date for Pentecost in 2011. Pentecost will be on June 12th this year, and no, Jesus will not be coming then either. There are too many biblically-required events that need to happen first and there is not enough time between now and then for them to happen.
Thiel has been in communication with some of Campings acolytes. Now that Camping's prophecy failed Bob is hoping they see the true light and come to the true Church.
You can read more of Bob's warning to Camping's followers here Harold Campings Teachings About the End of the World Do Not Agree With the Bible Barf bag may be need for the sheer hypocrisy in Bob's screed.
Yet sadly, at least one Camping supporter, without any refuting facts, said that my article had not sufficiently persuaded him that Harold Camping was wrong a few months ago. Now, hopefully with their blinders off, more of Harold Camping’s supporters will be willing to take a more objective view and see that what I wrote is true, and of course, always had to have been true.
Chiropractor Bob goes on to write:
Thiel is not happy with WeinerDude Weinland's prophecies, but what about Meredith's? What about the iniquity of the liar and false prophet Roderick C Meredith? What about all of his documented lies and failed prophesies? What about Herbert Armstrong's? What About Gerald Waterhouses's? What about Dean Blackwell's? What about Herman Hoeh's? What about LCG's predictions that there are 6-12 years left? You are starting to look as stupid as Camping right now!The iniquity of false prophets such as Harold Camping, Ronald Weinland (who still claims that Jesus will come on May 27, 2012), and others will turn various people off about prophecy. More will feel comfortable being scoffers. And this rise of scoffers who will not believe in prophecy is also foretold in the Bible by the Apostle Peter:

Sadly and of course.... as intelligent as Bob Thiel is, he is blinded by his God Hauntedness and selective memory.

This is the other end of the stick. The Apocalypse is still coming, but the signs indicate not yet.
Or, ever...
But support the work with your (Gawd Mandated) financial contributions in the meantime.

Isn't that like the Place of Safety calling the Rapture black?

That's always been the rub with me regarding Bob Thiel. So willing to look critically at everyone except Spanky and HWA.
My favorite argument of his against HWA's incest was his own questioning of Garner Ted before he died. Since GT would not admit anything to him, the great Bob Thiel, it must not be true. Golly Bob, you might want to consider Garner Ted wasn't exactly a straight shooter.
Camping follower:
"Family Radio's special projects coordinator, Michael Garcia said he believed the delay was God's way of separating true believers from those willing to doubt what he said were clear biblical warnings.
"Maybe this had to happen for there to be a separation between those who have faith and those who don't," he said. "It's highly possible that our Lord is delaying his coming."
Now there is an original thought. Did he say "our lord IS delaying his coming,"? Nice twist!!!! It's not "the Lord delays his coming," as if noticing that was MY fault and so I am scoffing. But evidently Jesus chose to delay his own coming. Great apologetic!!! God wins again.
Jesus: "Is it the day and hour of my return yet?"
God: "Yes, go for it Jesus."
Jesus: "Nah, I think I will delay it now that I know it or knew it."
God: "Hey, you can't do that. I decide these things."
Jesus: "Relax, it's not like it's the end of the world. I'll go when I am ready."
God: "You tricked me.."
Jesus: "Nah, I tricked them."

This Camping apocalypse was a hot topic of discussion last week. I mentioned to some of the folks who brought it up that I had been raised in a cult which taught us that Jesus Christ would return in 1975. I shared that not only did we fervently believe this and base our entire lives upon it, but that the cult taught us the Germans were going to come over here, take all non church members and some backsliders into captivity, and institute mass torture as in Auschwitz.
I shared that, as part of our church education, we were shown archival film footage of what the Allies discovered in these death camps while we were at the Church's summer camp and college.
When asked my opinion as to what some of Camping's followers would probably do, I explained that if typical patterns held true, many would simply state that somehow the calculations must have been off, and would anticipate the end this time next year. I also mentioned that many would probably give up on God and become atheist, while others turned to drugs and flagrant partying.
I got comments from some people to the effect that they were really glad I'd managed to break free from such a diabolical cult, and we agreed that the primary need of Camping's followers at this point is lots of love and understanding, certainly not a bunch of criticism or ridicule. As we all know by our own experience, these people have a difficult road ahead of them.

MY COMMENT - Byker, that is my exact recollection also of growing up in the WCG in the 1960s and 1970s. In the first week of January, 1972 after a full 19 year time cycle, I hid under my covers in bed waiting for the long prophesied German attack. Occaisionally, I would get out of bed and look out my window during the cold January night to see if the Germans had arrived in my neighborhood, as prophesied by the Church, to kill me.
Stupid me, I was just a young teenager at the time and didn't realize that the true significance of the fullfillment of the second 19 year time cycle was .....advertising in Readers Digest. Yes, according to the Apostle of God, God opened up the doors of Readers Digest advertising to the Worldwide Church of God. A far cry from the predicted great tribulation death; mayhem; bombs dropping on America, etc.

MY COMMENT - Oh joy! Another horror story of WCG/PCG summer camp memories.
I don't know what is more scary and worse - Dennis Leap's boner on public display, or getting the hell scared out of you with footage of the Nazis death camps?
We need a good old fashion "reader's poll" on which Church summer camp experience was worse.

The important thing about the CoG that has a name that it is Living, but is dead is...
Inset: Last week I heard their telecast. I wasn't the one watching it, nor was I the one who turned it on. My head was going oh no, it can't be... it can't be.... But it was: "The United States and British Commonwealth in Prophecy". ACK! ACK!

The really important thing is:
They lie and they take the money.
That's all you need to know.
Or... you might go back and review what I said about The Divine Dr. M.
"I also mentioned that many would probably give up on God and become atheist, while others turned to drugs and flagrant partying."
What a ghastly end! Atheism or drugs and flagrant partying! These two outcomes are clearly the end of the road; I shudder at the thought of Camping followers smoking pot and partaking of promiscuous sex- or worse- living quiet, rational lives. Maybe even raising children without telling them about Jesus! Ghastly, indeed.
The important thing is: Will Camping followers still support Godly Genocide, or will they reject Noah's Flood and the journeys of Israel as so much myth?

How will LCG members react to the news that Rod Meredith's beloved hometown of Joplin has been devastated? Will they see it as a judgment from God, in the same way that Meredith says Southern California receives its earthquakes because of God's displeasure?
Many in LCG right now are unsure of what is happening in their church. They are troubled by rumors of discontent among LCG's top ministry, and are disappointed by Meredith's blatant nepotism, hiring one of his sons (Jim) to be his personal assistant and likely successor, and another son (David) to be LCG's newest presenter (he already has his own Web show, Heads Up ). Considering how Meredith has trained his church's members to interpret natural disasters, I would not be surprised if the devastation of Joplin may foster even more doubts about their leader.
Thiel is not a nice human but neither was Goebbels.
Camping now says it's all happening on Oct 21. And his acolyte says this is a test of the faithful. Well, then, I guess the lord doesn't tarry...the lord teases.
How about a re-think of that whole dispensationalism business?
I noticed that "Head's Up" is an LLC. Smart move for LCG. You can say all kinds of prophetic crap, or accusations against your country, or against politicians and never loose anything when you get sued.
The LCG reminds me of the movie, Idiocrisy.
Richard:
"The Germans" stick around in one's head long after one comes to his senses and leaves Armstrongism!
Several years after 1975, I was kind of toasted on herbs which are now considered "medicinal", sitting in the Long Beach Arena not for the F/T as in the past, but to enjoy a Humble Pie concert. Iron Butterfly opened for them, and right in the middle of their set, I flashed on the end coming during the concert, and German tanks rolling through, smashing the arena and taking all of us captive. It was a "daymare", possibly brought on by being in an arena where I'd heard numerous sermons about the end. I was there with some of my best ex-WCG buds (we'd all left after the 1975 debacle), and realized that hey, at least our group of friends was all intact, and we were all there together.
I'd never really liked Iron Butterfly (Inna Gadda Da Vida), and was more or less enduring their set, which is probably what set me off from what could best be described as a highly suggestive state. But, it became all worth the daymare when the Pie finally took the stage! They were awesome! It turned out to be a legendary Friday night.
