How Sick Can Cal Culpepper and Gerald Flurry Get?

This is an excerpt from a posting on Exit and Support.

Recently, I was surprised to receive a call from a good friend from my PCG days whose name is Cassie Flory. Cassie, who was baptized, was married to Scott Flory.1 I was very fond of Scott and Cassie and when I first came into the PCG I would fellowship with them often. We would have meals after services, and I even stayed at their house from time to time. Scott, as I recall, was a very devoted husband and father. I never saw him mistreat his wife and kids in any way. He worked hard to provide for his family and his wife and his kids never lacked anything. In all actuality, I envied them because at that time I was single and living alone. Cassie told me that her marriage to Scott was, for all practical purposes, dissolved by the Regional Director of the North East PCG--Cal Culpepper. She said they both were cast out ("suspended") from the PCG a few years ago under the direct orders from Cal Culpepper for certain offenses that Culpepper found unacceptable.
Scott apparently pined away faithfully during all the time of their suspension and was waiting for that special phone call from Culpepper that would allow them to return to the "church." Well, some time ago, he got the green light from Culpepper to return. However Scott was faced with a dilemma. The condition of his return to the PCG was that he had to turn out his wife Cassie and no longer allow her to live with him. When Scott told Cassie that he was allowed back in PCG, she said, "What about me?" He told her to leave his house ASAP. Cassie told me that she had nowhere to go!! She packed some of her belongings and lived for a while with various friends. She finally found her own place and is trying to rebuild her life, but is now living without the man she loved and was married to for over 10 years. All of this on the direct orders from the demonized Cal Culpeper.
This couple has two children, a boy and a girl. They are both grown young people and, from what I understand, do not attend the PCG any longer. So it seems that my once good friend Scott who I always remembered as a loving husband has--at the behest of Culpepper and for the sake of saving his skin from the Tribulation--lost his wife and children. As a consequence of this new policy from Flurry, he will (in his own mind) never see his family again unless they repent under torture from the Beast power and be "martyred for the faith." Then they will all be happily united in HWA's "World Tomorrow." My question is this: What kind of poisonous spiritual Kool Aid is Gerald Flurry forcing his followers to drink that would turn a loving husband and father into something like this?

We've been on the wrong track, anticpating that a Jonestown type event would occur most likely in either Pack's RCG, or Flurry's PCG, when they all went to their place of "safety". There is no when, because it is no longer a future event! Their evil version of Jonestown is happening now right under our noses, at their headquarters and in their local congregations!

Don't the members realize that if these diabolical ministers are the pleasing servants of God, salvation is really going to suck for all eternity? Flurry and Culpepper do not reflect the character or sense of justice of any sort of God that I would worship. It's like that old song "Fire" by The Crazy World of Arthur Brown. You can almost hear Flurry and Culpepper shouting the opening words "I am the God of hell fire, and I bring you fire!"

I wonder how we could do a better job of getting a message to these people before permanent damage is done. The tyrants in the ACOGs do their major permanent damage while people are on suspension, or as they are emerging from it. The sad part is that most won't be reinstated anyway, they'll end up either leaving, or being told they can never come back. But, while they are in limbo, Flurry and his evil goons are firebombing their marriages, running off their children, and ruining any future they think may be waiting for them. It's the worst kind of exploitation and ministerial abuse known to man. There just has to be a special place in hell for Gerald Flurry!

Do these so called Christians never read their bibles ? Apostle paul clearly wrote that if one partner in a marriage is a baptised Christian then the other non baptised partner is sanctified and so are their children. Why oh why are people taking any notice of these FALSE leaders. Their demonic desire is to DESTROY other people's marriages. It's that simple. They are DESTROYERS.

I went to AC with CC and he was a pompous ass, even then. I didn't see him until years later, when I went to a funeral that he conducted for a PCG member. Aside from the manner in which all the PCG members acted, so off putting and self righteous (times 10), his attitude toward the children of this member, who weren't with PCG, was non existent. No kind words of solace or comfort, no attitude of contrition or to show any kind of willingness to be some type of true servant.

After the funeral, he went to the grave-site, said a quick prayer, verifying this member would absolutely be in the Kingdom, ignored the crying children of this member and quickly jumped in his car for a quick getaway.

In retrospect, as this "Kingdom bound member" was an ex-brother-in-law who was a confirmed alcoholic and adulterer, who left my sister holding the bag on a bankrupt business he drove in the ground, in addition to these grieving children, my niece and nephew, I sorely regret I didn't punch CC's holier than thou lights out on the spot.

Sadly, my own father (who was also at this funeral and was shocked at CC's and the PCG member's aberrant behavior) died 3 days later (which gave these 2 kids, 2 deaths in less than a week to deal with), WAS the type of Christian CC will never be. I'm just thankful Dad wasn't with PCG or I might be in jail for battery....

My first inclination upon reading this was "What kind of adult man possessing testicles, even raisin-sized testicles, would submit to an edict like this???"

But, truthfully, everyone who has dealt with these groups has some clue what the pressure in these situations is like. Even if they don't want to admit it/remember it.

We can do little but mourn for those willing to follow such a disgusting organization, allowing it to represent their god.

This fellow Scott , as nice of a guy as the author described him, is an effeminate , cuckold , humiliated , (pardon my french) "OWNED BITCH" by Culpepper and Flurry.

All of this is extremely depressing and ridiculous. My prayers for anyone involved with Flurry, Pack or any of the rest of sociopathic narcissists.

I sent PCG abuse information to the Oklahoman Newspaper/Religious/Investigative reports in Oklahoma City to see if some real understanding of this bunch might be had. We'll see.

There are blanks in this article. What were these 'certain offences?' For me, it's hard to come to a opinion since so much information is left out.
Has the husband considered being an 'independent Christian'? After all, a Christian is one who follows Christ rather than one who attends some church.

5.42PM the ministers in fact, don't know who will be in the kingdom. God does not give out this information. They pretend to know, since it exalts them in the eyes of ordinary members. I experienced this often with ministers, feigning knowledge and wisdom that they didn't possess. They are basically teenagers pretending to be mature adults.

Connie, I think your judgment harsh. Scott is probably doing what he believes to be right in the eyes of God. You can hardly condemn someone for trying to preserve (in their eyes) their eternal life.

Anon 11:53 If you had bothered to click on the link you would have been able to read the entire letter and fill in those blanks. Apparently that was too much trouble.

What shocking behavior. It is just terrible how PCG's doctrines are used to tear families and friendships apart. Shame on PCG's 1% for inflicting such misery.

For years complaints about that particular PCG "minister" have been made and yet PCG's 1% have seemingly done nothing to restrain him. They have power over him yet they choose not to use to restrain him. They must also bear a certain kind of responsibility for things like this.

12:51 AM I read the links, but still don't see it. Please do a copy and paste (or a paraphrase), and enlighten me.

As a former member I think you should consider something. Not all members adhere to the no contact commands. There are some who still do talk to, visit with family and friends. It's done on the down low, but it is done. The contention is that God will fix it. Steve Carson Jacksonville, NC

I think the writer of this article left out the "offenses" as they were probably of a personal nature. An author needs not reveal ALL to tell a story.

Knowing Cullpeppet the offenses could have been as small as skipping too many sabbath services.

4.00 AM Ashley, my point is that the man might believe that 'jumping through their loops,' is what God wants him to do. If he understands that what these ministers ask of him is evil, then yes, he should 'obey God rather than man.' And condemnation on him if he doesn't. Only then is he Connies 'owned bitch.' However, members in these groups are brainwashed and have their sense of normalcy twisted. So you, Connie and myself cannot confidently know that the man is knowingly sinning. Objectively, what he is doing clashes with 'choose life', so there will be penalties. However, we do not know the mans heart.

During the Armstrong era, including most of today's slivers, members have been beaten down, torn down, brainwashed with 'government is everything,' obey, yield surrender, submit. The result is that most members have been robbed of a appreciable part of their adulthood by the mafia ministers. So all members are 'OWNED BITCHES' to some degree. Welcome to the Church of owned bitches.

Good for them, I suppose, but I would say that even one broken family due to this unqualified authority is one too many. And if they're still contributing to said organization, then they are accomplices.

Ashley, if ESNs footnote is to be believed, Scott's father and stepmother allowed their daughter to die from an ear infection previously rather than affront Flurry.

Unknown said...

Scott's father and step mother are Dale and Yvonne Flory. Dale and Yvonne were the couple whose 10 year old daughter Alicia died from a severe untreated ear infection because they heeded Flurry's teaching on not going to doctors or hospitals.

So there is a family history of being complete and crazed Flurry devotees, even to the extent of letting their own family DIE! I stand by my earlier comments about "Scott". This is mental illness and NOT sincere devotion.

Story of this poor little girls demise is found here...

Connie, the Painful Truth blog was started by a man whose wife died after being reassured by a minister that God would heal her. Simple medical treatment would have healed her. Many have fallen into this trap. To assume that all these people are 'crazed devotees,' or just 'letting their own family die' is unfounded. Religious deception abounds. I read most of the Painful Truth posts on his wifes death, over fifty pages. Interestingly, most comments were of the 'blame the victim' type. He struck me as intelligent and well balanced. Ironically the better natured people are, the more difficult it is for them to suspect and comprehend deception by 'Gods ministers.'

I had this evil Cultpecker set across from me in my living room, look at me and roll his eyes back until just the whites of his eyes was showing. He did this several times. This freaked me out, I had not seen anything like this outside of a hollywood movie.
The older minister that was with him, Mr. Marvin Campbell, when told about it said it was a sign of demon possession.
