LCG Gains Mind-boggling New Number Of Attendees! The Mighty Work Marches Forward With Power!

After spending thousands of dollars in holding "campaigns" in different cities, with over 370 attending, the boys in Charlotte are pleased that they have 14 new attendees. They are encouraged about this "positive trend". It is amazing what Church of God leaders in 2021` think are "positive trends." They are grasping at straws.

After a hiatus for most of 2020, the first five months of 2021 saw a gradual ramping up of Tomorrow’s World Presentations by the Living Church of God. In “campaigns” in ten different cities, 373 subscribers have attended, in person or online. What is most encouraging, however, is that out of the six cities where we had in-person events—Williamsburg, Virginia; Fayetteville, North Carolina; Tauranga, New Zealand; Kansas City, Missouri; Greensboro, North Carolina; and, Knoxville, Tennessee—we now have a total of 14 new attendees. While the overall total is small, we are encouraged by this positive trend.

Too many of the old people in the Dead Church of Rod were bad enough. Imagine what sort of new moochers and weirdos Satan and the demons have sent dead Rod's dead cult this time.

Ancient Israel didn't heed the warnings of Jeremiah, Ezekiel and others. That doesn't mean that these men wasted their time and resources. Rather they fulfilled their responsibility of warning individuals and nations to repent. Otherwise when disaster struck, the nations blood would have been on their heads.

What warning is LCG really putting out there? The things they “warn” about seem to taken straight from outrage for profit media outlets. Woke this, cancel culture that, and don’t forget to lookout for leftists!

They probably decided they could use a few more perverts as long as some of them tithe.

Where does Jesus Christ say that it is the responsibility of the COG to warn nations? I've never been able to find that in the NT.

The LCG warnings of Jeremiah and Ezekiel are useless.
That fact is proven by all the thousands of GOGers who've died over the years their church was preaching the end will come in the next five to ten years.
However, each individual's end time is right around the corner.
Therefore, all people need the Good News about grace and the free gift of Salvation.
LCG does not preach that Good News - so they attract some very unstable people to their gospel of works and alienation from Jesus (Galatians 5:4).
Some of those unstable people who become bewitched by LCG are sincere, good people - eventually, most will find their way to safer, sounder pastures.
The remainder of the unstable characters will stay with LCG because sadly, their personal dysfunction feeds off, and enjoys being fed upon, the dysfunction of the LCG.
Fourteen new attendees in these church areas will not replace the number of current members who will die, or the number who will find freedom from the LCG, or the number who will jump into another dysfunctional COG.
The LCG is truly a dying church.

It’s ridiculous that the gospel was perverted by believing end time prophecy was critical when it affects, even according to their teaching, only one generation for 3.5 years

While warning the nations is to be done, that is NOT the primary commission of the Church. Look in the NT for that commission. This is where LCG gets it completely wrong. Glad I am not apart of that any longer. What the world needs is good news about the coming Kingdom. This world it terrible as it is, and I think most people can agree with that. It is God who calls, not LCG.

Christ quoted several times from the OT, so it's not as if the OT is irrelevant. Much of the OT is simply pointing out the moral laws of the universe. These laws are still with us today, whether one chooses to acknowledge them or not. God has a moral responsibility to warn of coming disaster if people do not repent. He did this in the past, and will certainly do it in the present.

Christ pointed to the tribulation in Matthew 24:22 with His "unless those days were shortened, no flesh would survive." It's unthinkable that God would not warn the world of the greatest catastrophy in human history.

For the COGs , it works out that each new member is now coming at a marketing cost of approximately $100k.

The new members, (of which are generally older), will never donate enough money to cover their acquisition cost.

Sort of like internet subscription services that are not long term viable because acquiring business costs more than the sales, this is a business model that is doomed for failure.

Back with WCG broadcasts, I remember where the responses per broadcast was under a certain figure, the station was dropped. For the effort and expense put into LCG's drive, this seems an insignificant gain. Interesting, how many attended the functions compared to attending services? How many will come back? It may not be a "positive trend", as in that time how many members have left (natural attrition or willingly)? Which site(s) had the biggest response? Some, maybe zero?
I imagine other COGs would be overjoyed with an increase of 14 potential members - I can imagine Dave Pack with dollar signs in his eyes, and Bob Thiel getting some interest outside of Africa.

Sorry Bob, best stick to Africa.........

"..only one generation for 3.5 years."
Err, try reading Revelation. Billions are going to die. That will effect mankind for hundreds of years. I watched a YouTube documentary about WW1 where it stated that we are still living with its effects. The cream of its many nations manhood was lost in that war. These nations are still the poorer for it. The best breeding material was lost. After all, the principles of animal breeding applies to humans as well. We have a genetically inferior generation compared to could have been.

Yes. LCG bases their commission to warn the nations on one verse from Acts 1:8 and the assumption that Matt 24:14 is a commission, when it is not (it is a prophecy). Nowhere did Jesus ever tell His followers to preach the gospel as a witness. By failing in this regard, LCG ignores the great commission of making disciples of all nations. They justify their behavior by using the erroneous KJV translation of Matt 28:19 which says says to teach all nations, when the Greek word is actually "disciple-ize" -- make disciples of all nations. LCG has no intention of following Jesus' instruction to make disciples. Instead, they spread the gospel truths far and wide, and leave the making of disciples up to God. At their sponsored events, they then determine if a person is being called before inviting them to church. How arrogant must the minister be to think that he can determine whether God is calling someone or not? We see no such example in the New Testament. If someone wants to go to an LCG service and hear about the gospel of the kingdom of God and Jesus Christ, does LCG block them at the door? Not exactly; LCG keeps their meetings secret so no one can come without an invitation. I know a number of people who were so put off by this attitude that they went to another COG or nowhere.

Wonder how many they got in New Zealand?
Good grief there must only be 14 members in NZ,lol. Their ‘impact’ is so small they are almost non existent. The church of no returns indeed.
One hopes this group will finally become a non entity and those within its walls will find freedom from its shackles.

Hello Anonymous of June 5, 2021 at 7:44 AM,

You mentioned “Christ quoted several times from the OT”
That’s true, Jesus lived his entire life on Earth under the Old Covenant; all Christians know this. Therefore, Jesus was/is genus at quoting the Old Testament.

However, the COG’s do not demonstrate any understanding of what is different between the two Covenants or Testaments.

From your comment, I guess you do not know that Christians, outside of the COGs, do not view the Old Testament to be irrelevant. However, you are dead covenant wrong about "These laws are still with us today, whether one chooses to acknowledge them or not."

COGs don’t keep Old Covenant Law and do not understand anything about New Covenant Law. As stated in the very Holy Scripture, Hebrews 7:12: For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed also.

GOGs, as demonstrated aptly by your post, do not demonstrate an awareness of any changes in the law. Why are COGs so out of touch with Holy Scripture?

I would appreciate it if you could give me the full portrayal of how the COGs interpret or ignore all the differenced ushered in by the New Covenant.
Also, you wrote: "It's unthinkable that God would not warn the world of the greatest catastrophy in human history."

No, what is unthinkable is why the COGs don’t care to tell all people, current and end-timers, about the free gift of Salvation offered by Savior Jesus.

Each person is facing daily disaster and their soon coming personal end time – they need HOPE, the Good News of Jesus, and the forgiveness of sins by grace. Ezekiel warnings will not take them anywhere, in the present. Jesus redeems now, ancient prophecies fail to do that.

Please explain why the COGs believe that any of these ancient prophesies are more important to preach about than Savior Jesus redeeming all now, through grace?

Hey Anonymous of June 5, 2021 at 4:26 PM:
You wrote "..only one generation for 3.5 years." Err, try reading Revelation. Billions are going to die.”

Err, each one of the billions who have ever lived will die. That is vastly more than those who will die at the end time.

The millions who will die this year will not find any benefit from the COGs OT warnings. They meant nothing to their lives. Conversely, the Gospel of Grace, Salvation by Jesus was ultimately important to their days on earth and their eternity. The GOGs did not and will not preach that Gospel.

Doug Winnail prophesied that the whole world will know the LCG in the last days. Yet, today, no one knows the LCG. So. the end times are a ways off – and millions continue to die each year.

Please tell me why the COGs do not care about helping those millions of lives dying each year.

What makes all the millions dying each year before your end times less important than the billions you hope to save by your “alienated from Jesu” warning?

I’m eager to hear the COG direct answer to my questions.
Thanks!

The ten commandments in the OT, just like the laws of physics and chemistry, are still in effect. Gardening is an excellent example of why rules need to be obeyed. Grace will cause plants to grow if they are planted in the wrong season, soil, water content etc.

You have created a false dichotomy between the Ezekiel warning and salvation. In playing them off one another, you are trivializing the loss of life and devastation of WW3.

Anon June 6, 2021 at 8:47 PM,

First, I'm not the one you were responding to. This is my first post on this thread.

Anon said, Therefore, Jesus was/is genus at quoting the Old Testament.

Jesus was confused which Zechariah ...

Mt 23:35 that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.

2 Chro 24:20-21 Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest,... So they conspired against him, and at the command of the king they stoned him with stones in the court of the house of YHVH.

Note: There's no record in Tanakh that the prophet Zechariah son of Berechiah (Zech 1:1) was murdered as Jesus stated.

Jesus was confused which high priest ...

Mk 2:25-26 But He said to them, “Have you never read what David did when he was in need and hungry, he and those with him: how he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the showbread, which is not lawful to eat except for the priests, and also gave some to those who were with him?”

1 Sam 21:1 Now David came to Nob, to Ahimelech the priest. And Ahimelech was afraid when he met David, and said to him, “Why are you alone, and no one is with you?”
1 Sam 22:20 Now one of the sons of Ahimelech the son of Ahitub, named Abiathar, escaped and fled after David.

Correction: should read "grace will NOT cause plants to grow.." etc.
A moral codes foundation is the metaphysical, ie, the basic nature of reality which is (a) cause and effect and (b) the law of identity-characteristics, ie, the bibles "a tree is known by its fruits" thingy. It's the honoring of these traits of creation that gives rise to a certain moral code. For example, a car tyre must have a certain air pressure to maintain its shape. Too much or too little pressure results in technical problems. Your "grace" does not do away with this fundamental.

Anonymous said...

Read your own account. Christ said " in the DAYS OF Abiathas.." ISam21:2 says "Now David came to...Ahimelech the priest." This doesn't mean that Abiathas wasn't around.

Record in Tanakh? Is that inspired by God. It's you 11.26 PM who's confused.

Well, actually, it looks like the Dying Church of Rod is not going to “shake the nations” anytime soon.

Did Roderick C. Meredith bring a double curse on his family religion business when he came up with his hybrid, or two-fold, gospel message to compete against Herbert W. Armstrong's true gospel message?

Click here for the Interlinear of Mk 2:26. Do you notice the Greek 'archiereĹŤs' (Strong's G749) which is translated 'high priest' or 'chief priest' in the english versions?

Why did you not include 'high priest' or 'chief priest' in your quote? You just used ellipsis.

The problem with Jesus' statement is that the high priest was NOT Abiathar. My previous post included 1 Sam 22:20 which mentioned Abiathar's escape from Saul. Yes, he was around BUT NOT as high priest.

If you had 'googled' 'jesus abiathar problem', you would see the various explanations for this known problem. One explanation(s) can be found in bible.org's "Mark 2:26 and the Problem of Abiathar".

My previous post was a reply to the statement of someone who said Jesus was a 'gen(i)us' at quoting the OT. Btw, I also mentioned Jesus' quote of the wrong Zechariah. Do you have anything to say regarding this?

Anon June 8 @1:12am wrote, Record in Tanakh? Is that inspired by God. It's you 11.26 PM who's confused.

If you think Tanakh is not inspired by God, you have to remove at least 76% of your Christian bible. Then, remove any references in the NT that mention or allude to Tanakh verses. Now, examine what you are left with.
