Almost Arrested Ambiguious COG Prophet Says LCG Is Wrong

Never has the COG had a self-appointed prophet in their midst that pussy-foots around so much with his predictions as does the Great Bwana to Africa and 299 Caucasians. The prophets of old spoke without fear and forcefully, but not so with today's weak little prophets. It is always "what if", "could be", "possibly be", "might be", or a big fat "IF".

In his latest Co-worker letter, Gerald Weston of the Living Church of God had the following:

I doubt that any of us can imagine how traumatic the next one to five years will be, but as Jesus encourages us, “Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near” (Luke 21:28). https://members.lcg.org/letters/co-worker/october-12-2021

Gerald Weston and I agree that the next 1 – 5 years will be quite traumatic.

While we need to look for the signs that Jesus laid out in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21, let’s consider timing since Gerald Weston mentioned years.

Now it has been said that “if” is the biggest two-letter word in the English language. So:

    1. If as the School of Elijah taught, that God inspired Elijah to state that the world as we have known it would last 6,000 years, to be followed by a thousand year sabbatical time, which Jewish tradition (Talmud, Tractate Sanhedrin [97a]) and early Christian traditions record (e.g. Irenaeus, a hearer of Polycarp. Adversus haereses, Book V, Chapter 30:4), then we are getting close to the end of that time.
    2. And if, consistent with scriptures in both the Old and New Testaments, we can apply the concept that a thousand years is as a day to God (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8).
    3. And if, as generally understood in the Church of God that Jesus was killed and resurrected no later than the Spring of 31 A.D. on Passover.
    4. And if we can presume that the “last days” of a 7,000 year prophetic week began AFTER the middle day (day 4), then the last days prior to the “sabbatical” time, which some would refer to as the millennial Kingdom of God would last two thousand years.
    5. And if when Peter referred to being in the last days (Acts 2:17-18) and since Hebrews 1:1-12 teaches that “God … has in these last days spoken to us by His Son.”
    6. Then adding 2,000 years to a period of time leads to the end of the 6,000 years no later than 2031 (and it could be earlier than that).
    7. Since the Great Tribulation is expected to start 3 1/2 years prior to that (cf. Revelation 12:14; 13:5) subtracting 3 1/2 years from the Spring of 2031 would be late in 2027.
    8. Understand that the U.S.A. is prophesied to be taken over near the rise of the Beast and start of the Great Tribulation (cf. Daniel 11:39; Jeremiah 30:7; Matthew 24:21-22).
    9. Therefore, while Jesus is NOT coming in the next 1 -5 years, the USA and its British-descended allies could be gone by then (though it could be later)

We appear to be in the beginning of sorrows that Jesus spoke of.

The Great Tribulation is not too many years off from now.

Your headline is bogus, since you quote Dr. Thiel as saying: "Gerald Weston and I agree that the next 1 – 5 years will be quite traumatic."

For once, CCOG and LCG actually agree on something! Isn't that a good thing - even if it's about coming trauma?

If you read Thiel's spiel you can see that he says it will be LONGER thanWerston's asinine timetable. Anyone can see that. Bob has been saying all along that LCG is wrong on all their dates. Get your facts straight.

I'll give Dr. Bobby Theil credit for one thing. By 2031 global climate change will be manifesting itself in some very serious ways. Even if we go to carbon neutral existence tomorrow, the accumulated effects will not begin to reverse themselves until 2050.

The attempted author of an LCG splinter, Bob Theil, is still hanging on to the concept that the end of the age can be calculated by mathematics. And, that is the reason why everyone from Miller forward has been wrong. Jesus would have known the date of His return if it had been based upon math. He and the father were (are) of one mind. So, if He did not know, that means that the Father did not yet know either, because the date of the end was going to be a judgment call based on the condition of humanity, most likely linked to mankind's debauchery and imminent destruction of the planet.

Let me leave a brief comment on the 6000 years and the end date. Don't know where Bob gets his dates, but a chronology constructed from Biblical genealogies combined with known historical dates yields 6000 years from creation at around 1994 or so.

Problem with this reasoning that I have never heard mentioned is that the 6000 years began when Adam and Eve were thrown out of the Garden of Eden. Pretty simple, as that's when mankind was generally cut off from God.

So, just as Christ indicated, "know man knows the day or the hour", because no man knows when they were kicked out of Eden.

Absolutely delighted to hear from Rabbi Dr Bob Squarepants Amos Elijah Prophet Thiel again.
Was bored and depressed hearing so much about that naughty virus etc etc etc…………………
Bob in his desperation to stay relevant I don’t doubt will cough up all sorts of ‘dates’ to attract attention and to keep his followers enraptured.
The reality is it’s rather easy to shoot down his predictions and his theology with a little simple unbiased research and an enquiring mind.
Bob will undoubtedly be proven wrong as will his fellow ‘Prophets’ within the Armstrong movement.
One is reminded of Peter who walked through the stormy seas to Jesus. When he diverted his eyes from the Christ he saw the chaos around him and began to sink. A warning to all.

Theil is weird.

Here is how to escape the draconian censorship of cults and such.

Jesus WAS arrested.

Yes, Jesus was arrested, but Bob Thiel was not. It’s another one of his lies. Jesus was also not effeminate like Bob is. Jesus told the truth, Bob does not.

Bob is always pointing out some area of disagreement with other COGs, churches, religions, broadcasters, whatever. I think I can understand his problem, as for years I had a bad case of finding some point of error or disagreement with just about about anything and everything.
In today's sermon, Bob did admit he sometimes makes mistakes.

Just because Bob is a twit, not called by God to be a prophet or church leader etc, does not mean that everything he says is bull. Since some think that Christ died 30 to 36 AD, Bobs date could be a few years off, but I believe he's in the right ball park.

Yahshua began His preaching 27 to 28 AD.

Adding 2,000 years to that date brings us to 2027 to 2028. However, time is supposed to be cut short therefore the precise date cannot be made. Only a ballpark figure.

"Bobs date could be a few years off, but I believe he's in the right ball park."

Then we shall also refer to him as "Prophet Ballpark Bob"

I think you are spot on in your 6000 year conclusion. HWA said in many sermons that upon expulsion from Eden is when God told Adam, "you have 6000 years to go your own way, set up your own governments and civilization, etc."! It was one of the things that always made sense to me. Of course, those who don't accept this narrative probably don't accept the garden of Eden narrative either!

The time of great tribulation (gratuitiously reconstituted as "The Great Triblation" with a definite article and elevation to a term in the nomenclature of apocalypticism) in the Matthew 24 narrative has already happened. Not to worry. There is plenty of misery and wretchedness for humanity in the coming Day of the Lord. Basil Wolverton's graphics can be transferred from the Tribulation to the Day of the Lord without editing. It is just that there is no real reason for there to be a redux of the Tribulation before the Parousia. The type-antitype principle can be invoked but the reason for doing that is tenuous. Something about "no flesh" being saved as a reference to nuclear weapons when that statement is confined in context with the scriptural passage where it occurs to the environs of Jerusalem and does not scale up to the entire globe. But among gloating catastrophists and prophecy weenies hope springs eternal.

Dennis Diehl said, "Then we shall also refer to him as "Prophet Ballpark Bob""

MY COMMENT - It should read the other way around Dennis - "Ballpark Prophet Bob". Not an exact proclaimer of the will of God like the prophets of old in the Bible. Besides, it leaves open that "Ballpark Prophet Bob" can make his speculations at (drum roll please).... an actual ballpark while watching a football game which we all know he loves.

Wow. People who have the advantage of participating in Banned by HWA still believe that the only thing wrong with HWA's end time "hook" was that he got the math wrong! Unbelievable. Hope you aren't basing your lives on this type of speculative nonsense.

Brilliant! My question is What are the Prophetic ramifications of Who's on first?

Timing in human events is based on the wave principle. This principle does not control but influences human behavior. It fine tunes when major events will happen. So Christ knows based on maths when He will return, but not exactly. He'd probably knows within a few years if not months.

Btw, you can buy computer programs that predict stock market timing points based on timing. As such programs warn, you are in the realm of probability, since there are many possible turning points, with some being more probable than others.
On occasion, some turning points are very high probability.

Christ told Peter "why did you doubt." He did not say "why did you take your eyes off me."

About ten years ago, I read a book on reimagining evangelism. One section treated somewhat of a dichotomy which might seem strange to most of us in North America, Western Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Most of us from these areas have it pretty good, now, in real time. When evangelists tell us that it will all soon come crashing down, we are immediately repulsed, because we enjoy our lives for the most part. In other areas, where there is abject poverty, disease, starvation, high crime rates, and oppressive government, the people find it tremendously encouraging when they hear a message that their misery is soon to end. They actually long for the time when the reset button will be pushed. This is most likely why people in Africa are receptive to Bob Theil's message. It is somewhat ironic that instead of getting an endtime message out to those whom we were mistaught was Israel, he is instead reaching those whom we were mistaught were the Canaanites, but then people of different cultures are often not perceptive of the invalidating idiosyncrasies which we from his own culture tend to notice. I just hope that Bob does not end up letting his African followers down. As a doctor, he should remember "First, do no harm!" He has taken on a tremendous responsibility, whether he realizes it or not. People are never just numbers.

As usual, Bob proves himself to be a false prophet. While attending with WFD shortly after 9-11, I realized that I was living in the beast power: the USA, along with its military branch of NATO, and not some far away mythical beast rising up out of Europe. I was raised on that nonsense and it took me years to overcome the dogma, but thankfully reality sunk in.

In Rev 13, John asks “who can make war with the beast?” The answer is that no one can make war with the USA/NATO military block. The USA basically runs both NATO and the G7, as well as the ten zones. When Trump moved the Embassy to Jerusalem that sealed it for me that he was/is the King of the North from Dan 11:40. My hunch is that he will be back in power by 2024 or earlier to fulfill his duty. The beast and it’s military block is now today facing off with Russia/China, and will confront them at Armageddon.

Next big step will be Israel wiping out Iran eliminating the King from the South. Then the King of the North will face off with the Kings from the East at Megiddo, exactly as scripture spells out.

@3:39: Come on Dude! Trump was pissing snd shitting all over NATO! I was very concerned at one point that they would attack us in response! How quickly people forget! It hasn't even been a year since Joe Biden began to mend fences with our allies, and he nearly lost them again through his snafus with Afghanistan.
