Somebody's Mad!

Every once in a while someone's delicate nerves get pinched and we get comments like this.

You can mock all you want, but the Church of God from the hand of Mr. Weston will continue forward and the entire ministry from North America to Patagonia and each member around the world will continue as one man united until the end, one day you will give account of this just like the vile soldier who slapped our Lord Jesus Christ.

LCG is anything BUT united, especially after Gerald Weston told LCG members who visited other COG Feast sites that they had done so under the influence of Satan.

Where and when did he say visiting another coG sire was under influence is Satan?

Hey Koke61

When I was a WCG minister, I gave the sermon one Sunday morning in a Baptist church. This happened to be a black church. I even had some hand clapping and a few amens. I even had a few WCG people attend that service.

Koke61, I am wondering if that counts as being a witness to the world.

A WCG member once told me that Satan was his best friend. He was a follower of Tkach. That's what being in a cult does to your brain.

Anonymous said...

Visiting any COG site is due to the influence of Satan.

Anonymous said...

You are under influence if you visit another COG sire.

Anonymous said...

It was common knowledge that Rod was a verbally cruel person, and obviously not a book reader since his sermons were worthless. Which begs the question of why people chose his church when there were alternatives.

Anonymous said...

Not sure about this one, but curious! During LCG’s last split he did say that people leaving and non-LCG feast sites were attending sites where “God hadn’t placed His name”, with the indication that it was unsafe.

Who cares?
None of this solves or changes anything.
Try all of Collosians 3, and then apply the very last verse to the posts here.
Stop running down everyone and everything, build a positive alternative, if you can. Not.

People believe what they want to believe. I am not sure what makes people change their beliefs. I think sometimes the cognitive dissonance gets so intrusive that they rethink their position. Koke61 is a inveterate Armstrongist. To me now, that seems like a wholly untenable position to take. But not to Koke61.

I was watching TV a few days ago and a man was interviewed on the way out of a Trump rally. The interviewer asked the man some questions and it emerged that he believed that D. Trump was still the US President. That Trump was flying around in Air Force One to other countries doing presidential work. That the Biden-Harris administration was all fake. He seemed perfectly sane with a beard and wearing a gimme cap. It's creepy to hear someone talk like that. I still can't get used to it. People believe what they want to believe and they transform that selection into their "truth."

I find it extraordinary that people like Koke61 can visit this blog, see the discrepancies exposed and not be motivated to do some research and analysis. Instead Koke61 threatens us.
It should humble us all that there are some people who are so pure, rudimentary and well formed in their error that the application of all our rational capabilities is not enough to help them.

At the Feast site I attended (not LCG), the Festival Coordinator actually welcomed people from other groups once or twice during announcements.

He did NOT any exorcisms before, during or after services.

Since you missed it, Christ said 'beware of the Pharisees' and described in detail their evil. According to you, He was 'running down everyone and everything.'

Anonymous said...

8:40pm,

It is 'beware of the leaven of the Pharisees', not 'beware of the Pharisees' (Mt 16:6,11; Mk 8:15; Lk 12:1).

Doesn't surprise me with Tkach followers.

Because LCG is obviously such a major force in the world, I mean, who has not heard of them and their message? Such a powerful witness! /s

The difference is simple, He offered the viable alternative to following the Pharisees. He wasn’t quoting rumors, and misinterpretations, He came to die for them also, so even they could live eternally, He was the Messiah, not disgruntled bigots, atheists, etc. etc. etc. All that’s offered here is, griping, and, er, and, let me think, uh, oh, bitching and distortion and no coffee. Oh, also a wail, a moan and a dirge, nothing positive from negative minds.

Hey October 23, 2021 at 5:47 AM: you were worried that all comments on this website are negative, rumors, and misinterpretations - however, I'm always happy when commenters site Holy Scripture, so I will as well.

Jesus must have been referring to the Weston-types and Winnail-types, as teachers of the law in Matthew 5:20:
"For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven."

Now here are two verses your COG does not believe or preach because these verses teach about righteousness above the teachers of the law and separate from works:
Romans 3:24
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

I guess that what I don't understand is that with all of the information available with a few short mouse clicks about Herbert W. Armstrong, Armstrongism, and now most certainly all of the splinter groups, the whole movement hasn't simply been "cancelled". There was a time years ago when I found myself occasionally wondering "what if". With all of the information, and I'm not talking about information from dumb sources where you know immediately that the writers know nothing about grammar, primary sources, and authentic research, I no longer have any doubts about "what if" because it is perfectly obvious that Armstrongism in all its forms was a total load of crap from the very beginning.

If there was one positive take away from the Trump presidency, and his MAGA/Qanon followers, it is that we all got to learn from a totally secular source that people will believe everything a lying demagogue bombards them with because his philosophy appeals to them. These believers are resolute. Not that I believe in types and antitypes, but perhaps in invoking that blast from the past, we can help Armstrongites to understand. Herbert W. Armstrong was a type, or foreshadowing, of Donald Trump. There are so many parallels which easily flow to one's mind, if a person will only ponder them. I'll assume most readers are intelligent enough to see them, and will leave it to others to enumerate them.

At one point in the past, when I read the writings of such people as "Koke", I got a chuckle, realizing that he or she must be what is known in the blogosphere as a "shit stirrer", or perhaps more kindly, a blog salter, because nobody who thought that way could even exist in our enlightened times. How wrong could I have been!!! We as a group have probably throttled the growth of Armstrongism, but I am convinced that there will always be some die hards who for one reason or another, wear their blinders and block out everything that they could know with even the least bit of effort. While we can't reach them, at least we can console ourselves with the fact that we don't have to be them. Perhaps it's even good to have them around as a reminder. Yes! Things could still be that bad for us, because they still are for some if those we once knew.

The ACOGs are a very low wattage work compared the Worldwide Church of God under Herbert Armstrong. Not even "almost arrested for sabbath keeping" Bob Thiel's open door of cartoon animation is having any impact. All the Armstrong franchise COGs are completely irrelevant in this present age -except to the HWA wannabees receiving an income stream from the dumb tithe slave sheep.

Herbert Armstrong made it quite clear when he was alive that "The work" of preaching the gospel unto all nations started and finished with him. "And then shall the end come".

Can anyone really image Bob Thiel "shaking the nations"? The only thing shaking with him is his annoying hand gestures. Armstrong would have thrown him out of the Church along with many of the other HWA wannabees.

PART 2

October 23, 2021 at 7:58

Again, Read Col. 3, all of it. Are the posts here examples of this attitude? Hardly.
Plus, IF all here are truly living Col. 3, then here is what this site must do:
“Col 3:25  But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.”
It’s already taken care of by the Father. This site will never solve the real or imagined wrongs. You like Scripture… well, will you believe and act on this one???
Please read again Col. 3, then apply this one also!
“Col 3:25  But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.“
That is the Father’s responsibility not ours. Ours is to live Col. 3. How?
As Paul said:… “yet not I, but Messiah within me…” paraphrased.
Happy positive growth to all keeping their minds on the things above.

KJV

Mat 11:19 … But wisdom is justified of her children.
Mat 12:37  For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Luk 7:29  And all the people that heard him, and the publicans, justified God,..
Luk 7:35
Luk 18:14 ..this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

Rom 2:13  (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
Rom 3:4 yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
Rom 3:20  Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Rom 3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

Rom 5:9  .. being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Rom 8:30 … and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

Gal 2:16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Gal 2:17  But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? God forbid.
Gal 3:11  But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Gal 3:24  Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
Gal 5:4  Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.
1Ti 3:16  And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Tit 3:7  That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Jas 2:21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:24  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Jas 2:25  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers..?

So far, no one has read, or applies Col. 3 in their lives it appears.
How sad.
Seems like the things Col. 3 says to put on are avoided like the plague here. And, the things it says to avoid are desperately grasped for and exhibited to show how much of spiritual conduct one can “safely” avoid!
Conduct, words and attitude says all one needs to know about this and other NeoThermist sites.

Yet, real miracles do happen, and real repentance and conversion is one of the most beautiful. You can do it folks, only ask.

Eternity beyond our imagination awaits, and, you all will be there.
The Father in heaven always wins in the end! Even here.

Jim,

Pablo had everything very clear ... Do we agree on this I suppose?
He declared the following:

1Co 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
1Co 9:26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
1Co 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

If you were a minister in WCG, it shows that you fell into the category that Paul feared ... obviously he did not fall, but from the garbage you write, your frustration and bitterness is evident.
For this reason you cannot support the sound doctrine that LCG professes, you have turned to the doctrine of demons and your conscience burns ... Do you know why?

Heb 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Glad that you consider helping people that are in need as garbage. Glad you consider what I write as garbage. Also you are very gifted as you are able to tell I am frustrated and bitter. You did get one thing right, You said, I cannot support the sound doctrine that LCG professes. You are right on that one. I DONOT support that “sound” doctrine.

Looks like you are qualifying for the soon coming kingdom. It won’t be long now before the Germans invade the U.S. Concentration camps are probably being build fight now.

Have a great weekend.

Koke61 said...

Jim you say this:

"Looks like you are qualifying for the soon coming kingdom. It won't be long now before the Germans invade the U.S. Concentration camps are probably being build fight now."

This is a joke or a sarcasm right?

What does the writing say about it?

2Pe 3: 3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3: 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming from him? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

Judas also talks about this and adds another seasoning:

Jud 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jud 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jud 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:

You are one of those who doubt ... or simply do not believe in the things announced, perhaps you are a victim of things that were done wrong in Herbert's time.
You preached at that time, today I preach what you surely did in your time, I am a current minister who makes me very sorry for what you have become, instead of using your time very well and redoubling all the good of what you ever did.

My advice, in all humility, is that you get back on track and help the work of God instead of fostering divisions and mockery, because you are being judged today, remember that the judgment starts with the house of God ... still you have time, friend, to repent and inscribe your name in the book of life.

Koke, you need to get over the idea that HWA had anything to do with God. He was a displaced aspiring captain of industry type for whom the great depression seemingly wiped out any possibility of fulfilling his dreams. Because he had no startup funds, he made a free intangible from obscure sources (religion) into his commodity, sold it far and wide, and built his empire based upon it. During the years when he converted known heresies into his rediscovered "truths", he was molesting his daughter, which I believe is why all his prophecies failed, and his empire has come to nought. In his later years, he actually left his own church, and sought recognition and photo ops as an "ambassador without portfolio" not speaking for God, but being embarrassed by speaking for a church, switched his organization to the AICF, and giving out tithe money to murderous dictators whom he hoped to impress.

You can machine gun your scriptures, along with the canned HWA interpretations all you want, but most folks here just laugh, because we all know you are still drinking the Kool Aid.

Some of our former ministers here have become pretty amazing individuals, and what they say carries incredible wisdom, the wisdom of "been there, done that, and it didn't work." Rather than expecting them to heed what you say, maybe you ought to pay more attention to what they have to say! You might just be surprised at how much you have to learn!

Koke61 said...

"You can machine gun your scriptures, along with the canned HWA interpretations all you want, but most folks here just laugh, because we all know you are still drinking the Kool Aid."

I want to ask, do you believe in the God of the bible?

The apostle Paul said that "having been struck down by many, he he he could be disqualified"

Is this true or not?

What does Herbert Armstrong have to do with the immutable truths of God?

God can use anyone to carry out his plan, I have no knowledge of what they say about Herbert, but if so ... Does the concept of the truths of God expressed in the bible change?
Of course my mind is open to the fact that a human being can make atrocious mistakes, and that is reprehensible, but someone who is here doubts.

What is there to keep the commandments?
What is there to keep the holy holidays?
That there is a law of healthy and unclean food?
That Jesus is the son of God?

Does anyone doubt what is written in the Bible?

When a marriage dissolves, it is the people that fail, but the law that regulates the marriage continues and they do not change.

What this blog should clarify and it is time to do so is if they believe in the god of the Bible or are those who write are people of the world who have turned away from the truths of God?

David committed adultery and a terrible act against his neighbor Uriah, but that did not invalidate the laws of God or anything that he taught and the bible (not me) says that David was a man after God's own heart.
The latter is something that the main bloggers of this blog do not understand ... or not?

Anonymous said...

UH huh! More Kool Aid. Read your post to yourself and see how you sound! You obviously want to define or control all of the parameters related to interpretation of scripture. That control was always HWA's ploy, because he realized that whoever controlled the parameters won the argument. Why do you think he always told us not to listen to or read the works of any other evangelists than "God's" ministers (ones trained by him). You are coming off like HWA Jr, only without the hog jowls. Learned theologians over the centuries have debated the meanings of these scriptures, and there has never been one unified interpretation. Most of the classic WCG and splinters doctrines are highly debateable. You equating scripture's immutability with the teachings of HWA is laughable. There are other points of view and interpretations amongst Christians and Jews.
