As Bob Thiel and various Churches of God get their holy knickers in a knot over New Years Eve it so refreshing to live a life not tied down the legalistic baloney these buffoons dish out on a regular basis.
My favorite complainers are the same COG groups who come to Pasadena every New Years for the Rose Parade and work the grandstands as ushers, sell programs and raise money for their church funds.
Money always trumps COG teachings.
Money rocks!
Don't let the grumpies make your lives miserable for another year!

I remember my days in CGI they got all bent out of shape when I wished people in the local congregation a happy new year.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Than you for providing a good and valuable service, with this blog!
The word ABBA is actually contained within the word SABBATH! Is there a connection??
Really 11:50? Really ? Is that the truth now? Are you doubly sure about that?
Because Garner Ted was well known to see in the New Year in Las Vegas.
The CYBMR (calendar year by man's reckoning) marks the anniversary of the UCG-COGWA split.
UCG had leaders and ministers saying "Happy New Year" before the split, and it appeared to me that UCG kicked most of those ministers out for COGWA - ministers such as Clyde Kilough and Ralph Levy.
But now, Mr. Kilough and his group speak AGAINST saying "Happy New Year." Did he repent? Change his mind? What happened?
Bizarre accusations Feastgoer. I very much doubt Ralph Levy has ever been into saying "Happy New Year" even before his WCG days. Sure you know all about the anniversary of the UCG-COGWA split. Didn't one of your cronies slip up too early in Oct that year....
Gotta keep them titheslaves working in the coal mine 16 hours a day while the leaders live in magnificent luxury!
Years ago, we coined an expression that entered the dissident lexicon, ABA, which was a play on the name of the pop group ABBA. In our case, the acronym meant "Anything But Armstrongism". We had a big umbrella going on back then. It was already polarized from a Democrat-Republican perspective, but we all put aside our political differences and came together when it was time to expose the toxic wasteland of Armstrongism.
