The Ongoing 35-Year “Short Work”

Short little Gerald Flurry has been stringing along his suckers and victims for 35 years now with his talk about what a “short work” his PCG cult was prophesied to do, and still it is not yet over. Some people might have initially thought that they could stand to put up with Gerald for a “short” while. Sadly, all the alcohol that Gerald drank in his younger days seems to have given him the clear arteries to last for a long time. Bummer.

Shocking to us, but from what we learned last week, it is simply church as normal and usual for the regular members.

Flurry's false prophesies and similar by the HWA splinters are to be expected since they are Adventist churches. As the Britannica.com article on Adventists points out:
"Adventist, member of any one of a group of Protestant Christian churches that trace their origin to the United States in the mid-19th century and that are distinguished by their emphasis on the belief that the personal, visible return of Christ in glory (i.e., the Second Coming) is close at hand, ..
It was during the religious revival that swept the American frontier in the early 19th century that William Miller (1782–1849), whose speculations launched the Adventist movement,..."

"'Work'' - ""Cause'' - words worked up going back to Rupert pre Armstrong. Just something else this pretend apostle likely copied, along with everything else. And now copied by the Flurry's of the world. What a farce is this work of men. Hopefully believers come out of it all as well as possible.

You are 100% correct. All Churches of God (COGs) are offshoots of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church and share a similar Adventist ideology. Stephen Mumford, whom Herbert W. Armstrong (HWA) claimed was the progenitor of the COG, actually belonged to the Seventh Day Baptist Church, not the COG as HWA taught.

The whole theology of HWA was premised on many falsehoods mixed with little truth!
