The Day After

I don't know. I've just been tripping out on vintage Beach Boys and Sly and the
Family Stone, and could care less about Dave Pack's stupid fake prophecies. I even found vintage footage of Jimmie Page on stage and jamming with the Beach Boys at a July 4 concert of years past. These were some of the guys who got me through all the fake prophecies during the '60s and '70s. Music, the universal language! It's a better by far nostalgia than the ACOGs!

Hey BB @ 7:57:17 PM PDT,
Saddened by the death of the Beach Boys Brian Wilson this past week.
Music is the universal language. We have had a bit of Beach Boys music playing over the airwaves due to mark his passing. What a treasure. He had a real gift and he brought much joy and happiness through his music. Talented lads indeed and lovely music. I like to escape into MTV and listen to 70s and 80s stuff and love Chicago, the Doobies, yes and a little Guns and Roses, especially sweet child of mine, even ABBA lol, there are so many. Great memories come flooding back of a gentler time and world compared to this days craziness. Blessings and Shabbat Shalom as it arrives to you and loved ones.

How can anyone attend Pack's services without thinking "this guy is a false prophet" I mean the proof is beyond question.

Hi BB, Yeah we're losing all of the greats. I'm dreading the day we lose more Like Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ozzy Osbourne, and the rest of the greats from our 60s and 70s childhood. One poster here even mentioned ABBA. Yes, ABBA is my favorite guilty pleasure, along with the Bee Gees. Barry Gibb is the last man standing from that great band. As for ABBA, the main four members are still alive but they did lose their original two drummers, Ola Brunkert, Roger Palm, and guitarist, Lasse Wellander. Yep, we're losing the greats and are stuck with Drake, Nicki Manaj, Taylor Swift, and all of the other crap the modern music industry is pushing out. Yep, it will be a sad day when the last of the greats dies. Dear Lord, please take Drake, Nicki, Taylor, and grant McCartney, Starr, Jagger, Richards, Osbourne and all of the greats long lives. AMEN. You know, it's said that Keith Richards and cockroaches will survive a nuclear holocaust, so maybe there's still hope for classic rock! A doctor once told Keith Richards after a medical exam, "Keith I have some good news and bad news. The good news is you're healthy, the bad news is we found some blood in your alcohol sample."

Yea Sly Stone died just a few days earlier than Brian Wilson. He was trying to bring people together with music, having mixed bands. Both were great though. Yea those times are gone. Even the 80s were nice. U2, Heart, ACDC, The Police, Bon Jovi, Prince, MJ (Beat It), Van Halen. In fact that's what people need to do after that failed prophecy, just Beat It. But no one wants to Beat it Beat it.

Thanks, 9:43 and 4:19. The reason I don't mind going off topic on this post with my laments is that there was a time when those who Googled David Pack would see a number of sites come up related to the band "Ambrosia" (which was never one of my favorites). You can imagine how that would stick in Dave's craw! There is a Bob Thiel in music in TV production, but he's not quite as high profile. Would that all the leaders of the ACOGs had better known counterparts to eclipse them!

The nice thing about music is that it's preserved in so many ways, and when we need a shot of us to help us make it through the day, it's easily accessed!

@BB, I am Anon 4:19 you responded too. At least the Dave Pack and the Bob Thiel in the music industry have more credibility than the Church of God version that shares the same names, even if those musicians are not well known.I looked up the Bob Thiel that you mentioned, a Scottish rocker that worked with some of the biggest names in the music industry. Yes, he certainly does have more credibility than the church of God Bob Thiel.

Yea we can pull it out on vinyl, cd or digital form. As music allows us to refer back to times of the past. Analog puts us close to those times. Oh but be careful on those songs that have those scary electric guitar solos. LOL

It's difficult to escape the deception of a false apostle who presents himself as a minister of righteousness but is actually a servant of Satan.

For seversl years, I attended a church which had a number of very talented musicians. They had learned years ago that rock-based praise music could really lift members up. The fact is, all that that church was doing was to reclaim the heretage of the music.. One of the places from which rock came was gospel music, a type of music which made African American churches so much more passionate, meaningful and exciting. There is no comparison between that type of music and the Dwight Armstrong dirges from the Purple Hymnal. This is not totally responsible for the greying demographic of Armstrongism, but it is certainly a factor.

The geriatric people in Armstrongism, the "old guard" whom everybody fears offending are totally different from the aging members of contemporary Christian churches. That same age group in contemporary Christian churches grew up loving rock music. They're older versions of the guys with their greasy ducktails and their gals with their bouffant hairstyles who drove their hotrods to the diner on 1950s Saturday nights, smoking their Luckies or Camels, while drinking their coffee and listening to Dion and the Belmonts or Johnny and the Hurricanes on the jukebox!

Gotta laugh. I can just picture someone receiving one of those periodic evaluations we'll getting from Father God.

Father God: "Are you comfortable, my son? Relax! Everything is OK! Let me put on some tunes. What kind of background music do you prefer?"

Subject of evaluation: "ABBA, Father!"

Father God: "I see you are very much tuned in! Sounds exactly like something My Son would say!"
