Gerald Flurry Declares Fast For November 21 Concerning Their Desire To Move Into Jerusalem

The boys in Edmond Oklahoma have been looking for quite some time in opening an office in Jerusalem where they can be at the center of the soon coming tribulation that they want to happen to the City and the world.

The Philadelphia Church of God actually had an office there for a while which was the home of Lil'Stevie until they had to sell the building in order to buy the Edstone mansion and start a new cult college in England. By that time Gerald Flurry's grandkids were becoming immersed in Celtic dance competitions and needed transportation around the world and by the fact that Gerald Flurry could not fly commercial jets because he would have to sit next to unclean people or possibly a Laodicean ex-WCG member. So PCG had to spend more millions of dollars on a personal jet for Gerald and Lil'Stevie.

But now, as the end-times are only a few short months away, at least in PCG speak, the PCG thinks they need an office in Jerusalem where they can be front and center for terrible end-time events soon to hit the world. It also gives them immediate access to the streets of Jerusalem where they think the two witless witnesses (PCG members, of course) will preach in the streets, be martyred, and then be resurrected live on television for the world to see.

In order for this to happen PCG needs to brainwash its members into fasting for the day and then will be hit up with financial requests to buy new buildings in Jerusalem.

Exit and Support Network reports:

GF Declares Worldwide Fast for November 21:
November 8, 2021
This is from a short letter from GF: “We are facing several major decisions that have to be made. One of those decisions is what all we need to do in Jerusalem. There are other decisions to be made that we will discuss with you later. We want to make sure that God is behind what we decide to do. Therefore, I am declaring a worldwide fast for God’s people on the 21st of November. Please pray fervently for us to do God’s will and finish His work.” –N. S.

Another reason that PCG needs access to Jerusalem is that they and they alone will be working with Christ in the new Temple to be built there where they will work with their "husband" dispensing the law.

The Millennial Temple

The Prophet Ezekiel describes that temple in wonderful detail. It will be patterned after God’s heavenly temple, the seat of His throne today. It will have a footprint of half a million square feet, occupying about 13 acres. That is where God’s Philadelphians of today will live!

The outer precinct around the temple, described in the last nine chapters of Ezekiel, will occupy about one square mile of land. The headquarters city itself will only be about 7½ miles square. Considering that it will be the command center for the whole world’s system of governing, that is quite an efficient headquarters facility.

God’s law will begin flowing from that city to the wide world. Word will spread—person to person, family to family, town to town, nation to nation—about happenings in Jerusalem. News of its construction projects and activities, of classes being taught there, will supply headlines around the globe.

The living waters of God’s Spirit will flow from there (Zechariah 14:8).

“And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one” (verse 9). All peoples will have one supreme King—one world government—one religion. They will begin to see the benefits of righteous leadership. They’ll experience the joy of living under God’s government.

Jerusalem will become “the joy of the whole earth”! (Psalm 48:2). God’s earthly headquarters will set the standard for the world!

Where Will People Get Nourishment

What an exciting future we have to look forward to, living and working with our Husband in that headquarters facility. Being a priest at headquarters is a wonderful thing—even today. It is a great blessing to be stationed right in the middle of all the action. In that future headquarters, surely we will often shake our heads and say, What a privilege!

”Only these Philadelphians from the end-time firstfruits will rule from God’s headquarters temple forever!” Mr. Flurry wrote in Ezekiel—The End-Time Prophet. “Why won’t the Laodiceans be at headquarters in God’s Kingdom—even if they repent in the Great Tribulation? Because they are not qualified! They don’t have a headquarters mentalityTODAY! The people who will be at headquarters in God’s Kingdom are the people who have a strong headquarters focus now.” We are receiving specialized training, developing that headquarters focus with this parcel of land in Oklahoma. That is why God plans to place us in the Jerusalem temple and says we will go no more out (Revelation 3:12).

Only devout and true PCG members will be able to live in this temple and have direct access to Christ. they will be the ONLY ONES who will be able to draw near to God.

Those who remain loyal to God today will inhabit special rooms in the headquarters temple. Our offices will be near God’s office. We will have special access to Christ—the only ones who come near to God (Ezekiel 40:45-46; 44:15-16). As His helpmeet, we will serve Him—seeing to His needs, helping Him directly. A Visit to Millennial Headquarters!

Living Church of God Still Beating A Dead Horse: 5,000 Man European Army Soon To Arise! GASP!!!!!!!!!!!

The Church of God has always had a love/hate relationship with Europe. They like evangelizing their people with American beliefs and values and then on the other hand see them as future slave owners of Americans and running concentration camps. Nothing pleased Rod Meredith more than to scream and bellow from the pulpit about Laodicean church members being hung on meathooks in concentration camps and as they starved during famines they would turn to eating their own children. Bob Thiel carries on this idiocy today, then he also to bring in the rampaging Chinese 2 million man army and pissed off Muslims.

Even after Rod Meredith's death, these visions of doom and gloom still occupy the minds of Living Church of God leaders. Death and damnation are constantly knocking at the door of COG leaders but all of them are too wimpy to open the door no matter how desperately they need it to happen. They all like their comfortable lives living and acting like Kings too much.

LCG keeps beating the 10 nation drum as they freak out over a presumed 5,000 man army. They envision these 5,000 troops soon converging on Jerusalem and ushering in the end times so that the two witless witnesses (Bob Thiel and Ron Wienland) can preach for 3 1/2 years.

The European Union began discussing an EU army in 1999 and set up combat-ready battle groups in 2007—however, the battle groups have not yet been used (Euractive, May 6, 2021). But these forces have not been forgotten: “Fourteen EU countries, including Germany and France, have proposed a rapid military response force that could intervene early in international crises.” Currently, “the bloc has a joint budget to develop weaponry together, is drawing up a military doctrine for 2022 and detailed its military weakness last year for the first time.”

The latest military proposal calls for “a brigade of 5,000 soldiers, possibly with ships and aircraft, to help democratic foreign governments needing urgent help.” Europe’s foreign policy head, Josep Borrell, has repeatedly stated, “the EU needs to learn the language of power.” The organization now has an official European Defense Fund and has recently launched its European Peace Facility, “a mechanism that will boost the bloc’s ability to provide training and equipment—including, for the first time, weapons—to non-European military forces around the world” (The Guardian, May 19, 2021).

End-time prophecy reveals that the coming "King of the north," a German-led European "beast" power, will have significant military might (Daniel 11:40) and will use this might to surround Jerusalem with armies (Luke 21:20–21). Students of Bible prophecy should watch for a military build-up by Europe and efforts to extend this military power beyond its borders! For more insights into this future European military force, read or listen to Fourteen Signs Announcing Christ’s Return.

Students of Bible propehcy should NEVER take the world of a COG leader or use any other booklets as proof of anything. We have 80 plus years of false prophecies dished out by COG leaders. If they would only put this much energy into following that Jesus dude then they would not need to be living in a state of fear all the time.

Gerald Weston: We Are Witnessing The Destruction Of America But The WORK OF GOD Moves Onward! Woo hoo!

From a reader:

From this week's Da Whirled Head Weakly Update...

Greetings from Charlotte,

Not since the Civil War has America been so divided, and we know what Jesus said about a house divided against itself. We may very well be witnessing the destruction of America, and even though many around the world may cheer America’s fall, it will not be good in the long run for the rest of the world. I thought it would be good to remind everyone why we don’t vote in these elections. God humbled the Chaldean King Nebuchadnezzar and taught him this lesson: “This decision is by the decree of the watchers, and the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living may know that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever He will, and sets over it the lowest of men” (Daniel 4:17). We can give a more thorough and complicated answer as to why we don’t vote, but very simply: It is God’s decision and we do not want to be found voting against God. Which one of us knows what God has in mind? Who is His choice at any given time? We all have opinions and that is okay, but the more you learn about politics, the sleazier it becomes. Meanwhile, the Work of God moves forward on our knees and we pray more earnestly, “YOUR kingdom come”!—Gerald Weston

UPDATED: Sabbatarian Prophet Makes A Precise Prophetic Prediction, Unlike COG Self-Appointed Prophets

A person with a Sabbatarian background has made a prophecy about an event to happen precisely on July18, 2020. On that day a nuclear bomb will be dropped on Nashville, TN.

Now, we all know it will not happen, but my point is, here is a person who provides precise details about what he/she sees happening and actually provides lots of interesting facts to back up his/her statements.

Compare that to all the "true" prophets that have self-appointed themselves in the Churches of God. Not a single one of them will ever step out on a limb and make a precise prediction about something that will happen in the immediate future on a specific day. The few that have tried have all failed.  Every single one of them. Those that failed are labeled by the other COG prophets as fake, while they are right and could never make a similar mistake, just wait and see.

What we get from all of our self-appointed prophets is, "it could be", "it may happen", "it's at least 19 years away, but less than 20", "it might happen on Pentecost of ___, ___,  ___", "the end of the 19-year time cycle ends _____", or my favorite, "a strong hand from someplace is going to spank humanity."  All such impotent nonsense.

Here is what the Sabbatarian prophet is predicting:

This website is dedicated to identifying that there will be a nuclear attack in Nashville, Tennessee on July 18, 2020. This reality is based on prophetic revelations from the Bible. These revelations identify that Islam will be the power responsible for accomplishing the attack.
The message of warning that is derived from the Bible is established on the rules of interpretation that are identified within the Bible itself. For this reason, some time will be spent setting forth those rules so that the authority behind this message is recognized to be fully derived from and based on God's Word.
In conjunction with identifying certain principles of biblical interpretation, we will identify the prophetic players and subjects that are involved with the attack in Nashville. Some of the subjects will be linked to more detailed presentations on this website. Those subjects and players include Donald Trump, the forty-fifth and final president of the United States of America; the USA as represented in Bible prophecy; the Roman Catholic Church; the United Nations; Russia, including its current leader Vladimir Putin; the Seventh-day Adventist Church; Ellen White and the history of the nuclear attacks on Japan in 1945.
You can read the entire thing here.

The Millerite legacy is still alive and still making predictions.

As crazy as it is, it is far more interesting than any of the crap we hear from our current wishy-washy self-appointed prophets in the Church of God, whether they be Dave pack, Gerald Flurry, Ron Weinland or our perpetually whiney Bob Thiel.

UPDATE:

It seems a newspaper in Nashville actually published two full-page ads from this group of whacko's. Now the paper is investigating why someone allowed it to be published.

Tennessean apologizes, launches investigation after 'horrific' ad runs in print editions
The Tennessean is investigating how a paid advertisement from a fringe religious group was published on Sunday in violation of the newspaper’s long-established standards.
The ad featured a bizarre, pseudo-religious “prophecy,” including the declaration of an impending nuclear attack in Nashville by “Islam.”
The ad was immediately ordered to be pulled from future editions by sales executives and the investigation launched. A similar ad, one that did not mention Islam but also contained an end-times prophecy, published in the newspaper on June 17.
The newspaper’s advertising standards clearly forbid hate speech. Advertisements that do not meet the paper’s standards are routinely rejected for publication.
Kevin Gentzel, President of Marketing Solutions and Chief Revenue Officer for Gannett, parent company of The Tennessean, forcefully repudiated the advertisement in a tweet on Sunday.

Now watch as Bob Thiel will claim this is one more example of religious persecution. Papers will refuse to print religious prophecy crap from him in the future and it will be a sign he is being persecuted.

Being a self-appointed false prophet is a thankless job. But, there is always some fool who will try, particularly in the Church of God.

Pre Feast Trials A Foretaste of Endtime Tribulation

Michael Hanisko from COGWA comments on how Satan stirs up all kinds of trouble just before the COG has it's Feast of Tabernacles.  Of course there is a reason behind that.  It is to give the world a glimpse of what hell will be like during the tribulation when Satan is running to and fro trying to destroy the TRUE COG.

It has always been interesting to me to observe how often that major catastrophes in our country and in other parts of the world occur just before the Feast of Tabernacles. Hurricane Irene a few weeks ago, the economic crisis of 2008 and “9-11” in 2001 are a few. You may also recall the economic crisis in the 1980′s, referred to as “Black Monday,” that also occurred just before the Feast. I have often thought that Satan is hard at work just before the Feast doing all he can to discourage the people of God.

These crises also give us a glimpse of the kind of panic that the world will experience when this age and Satan’s system comes crashing down. I can’t help but think of some of the statements in Revelation 18 where we read a description of the fall of

Babylon. For example: “The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning, standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’ And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore”

(vss. 9-11). And, “For in one hour such great riches came to nothing. Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning saying, ‘What is like this great city?” (vss. 17-18)

I would think he would be concerned about his own church leaders who live lives of luxury at the expense of poor members.  Ministers who are narcissistic, self-important, and rebellious.  These men who had the hissy-fit to form COGWA have been men who conspired and plotted behind the backs of two church organizations, all the while remaining on a church payroll until they knew they could jump ship straight into another paycheck system,

Of course his members are special and set apart from the world.  They are special and unique because they are COG members who follow a magical god and who keep the Feast of Tabernacles:

It is good to remember that God’s people are exhorted, in Revelation 18:4, to “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.” The upcoming Holy Days and Feast of Tabernacles give us an excellent opportunity to do just that as we strengthen our vision of God’s coming Kingdom.

1975 In Prophecy Video and Booklet

You can read 1975 in Prophecy as a flip book here. This is the book that Armstrongites love to suppress. To this day many of the splinter cults claim that HWA and the Church never wrote such things.

I tried embedding the Flippingbook here, but it will not work. Checkout the link here: 1975 in Prophecy

Dr. Bob Concerned That Potential Suicides in 2012 Will Result In Lower Income For LCG

Chiropractor/naturopath/COG apologist/author, and all around important person is worried that the chance of increased suicides in 2012 because of idiot false prophets will cause a drop in LCG income and the prohibition of LCG preaching it's warning to the world. (One can only hope.....!)

French Worried About 2012 Suicides: A Prelude to Interference of the Work?

The Mayan 2012 flood prophecy will be proven false.  But 2012 will affect the world in ways that most who have discussed it publicly have not mentioned.

While I have many concerns about the ramifications of the December 21, 2012 prediction (including an increase in prophetic scoffers, see 2 Peter 3:3-9, when the world does not end then), a relatively new one (for me) is that if there are massive suicides or other disturbances, this may result in governments calling for restrictions on making “end of the world” predictions.  This is especially feasible as in Malawi someone was arrested this year for pushing Harold Camping’s May 21, 2011 rapture date (see Arrest in Malawi and Stroke for Harold Camping).

This type of government action may restrict the ability of the Living Church of God to get its warning message out just prior to the start of the Great Tribulation.  Yet, for a short while it appears that we will get a lot of notice, and do the “short work”.  The late LCG evangelist John Ogwyn wrote:
God states clearly: “He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness” (Romans 9:28). Who will He use to do it? According to Daniel 11:32 it is “the people who know their God [that] shall be strong, and carry out great exploits.”
… Today, the Living Church of God continues to do the Work of God, proclaiming the true Gospel to a world spiraling toward destruction.  (Ogwyn J. God’s Church Through the Ages.  LCG booklet, p. 58)
We in the Church of God have tended to believe that something would stop our organized ability to proclaim biblical truths including prophetic ones:
I have personally believed that when people like I explain who the final King of the North is and that he (who many will believe is an ally of the USA and UK) will actually invade and destroy the USA and UK, that I and others in the Living Church of God may be accused of treason, hate speech, or some technical violation of some rule in order to prevent our right to proclaim the truth.

With US FCC “net neutrality” rules (which they were approved to start to use in late 2010), Malawi’s arrest, and the French government’s public concerns, we are getting close to that time when governments will be too offended by the truth and some will take steps to stop it from being proclaimed.

The organized work may be stopped by government officials (like on the internet, television, etc.) and persecutions began because people of the holy covenant are warning the world of the results of their sins (which they will not want pointed out) and teaching that the King of the North is fulfilling these prophecies in Daniel 11. The faithful may be saying things that are not “politically correct” to the point that one or more governments will take action.

And if there are problems caused by the failed 2012 prophecies, governments (including the USA one) will feel more justified to taking steps to prevent small groups (like the Living Church of God) preaching the truth about the gospel of the kingdom and the end of the world as we know it.  The French statements may be a step that will lead to that.

Does all this mean I will miss the Olympics?  :-)

UCG Now Claimning There is Only Three or Four Years Left?

After the abysmal failure of Harold Camping last past weekend (May 21, 2011) you would think UCG would keep their mouths shut about end time prophecy.  But no, they can't.  They can't because they are "God's TRUE Church" and therefore are privilege to special hidden knowledge.

The UCG Council has informed the ministry that they will be dumped from the UCG retirement programs because UCG over extended themselves with television obligations and now have to pay up.

But not to worry!  You sheeple ministers won't be needing it anyway because we only have three or four years left.

Stupid, stupid men!  With over seventy years worth of documented failed prophecies you would think that they would have learned to keep their mouths shut.  Seventy years worth of blatant lies and they still continue on with more lies.  Stupid, stupid men!

Time is Short--The Eternal Carrot

Time is Short--The Eternal Carrot

Dennis Diehl - EzineArticles Expert AuthorAll fundamentalist and literalist Christians have grown up with the following scriptures burned into their minds...

I Thessalonians 4:15-17 "...For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout...Then WE which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air..."

I Corinthians 15:51,52 "...WE shall not all sleep, but WE shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump...and WE shall be changed."

Romans 13:11-12 "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for NOW is OUR salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand..."

James 5:8 "Be YE also patient; establish YOUR hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh."

I John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby WE know that it is the last time."

I Peter 4:7 "But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer."

Revelation 22:20 "He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly..."

Millions in Fundamentalist and Evangelical Churches have grown up with the idea that the return of Jesus, a return which will fix everything that is wrong with everything and reward the true saints, is always imminent. We read the above scriptures as if they were written for us, as it is we who are finally the ones "upon whom the end of the age has come." Unlike everyone before us, we really really are the ones who will see it and be changed, avoiding the reality of physical death.

There never has been, is not now and never will be a shortage of preachers and pastors who just know we are living in the final, absolutely last days. The signs are everywhere and every world event is assigned biblical import and meaning.

In Fundamentalist movements, the tradition goes on and becomes more pronounced as , earthquakes, floods, fire, volcanoes and "unusual" events, or wars and rumors of wars, especially in the middle east rear their ugly heads. If someone blew up the Dome of the Rock, well... there... see, now tell us that Jesus is not a few minutes away from returning.

The fact that most wars are waged by either the Christians, Israelis or the Islamic nations, among and between themselves, which are the religions whose teachings are supposed to save us and make our lives better, doesn't seem to strike us as odd. In fact, at some deep level deeply religious fundamentalists, seem to believe that millions must die violently, so that "all these things can come to pass" and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit can be visited upon the Christian survivors... or Islamic or Israeli depending on who wins. Well of course, the Christians win. Each knows who that it will be themselves that overcomes the other. It's in the book, all of them.

The most popular New Testament "proof texts" for this thinking among Christian Fundamentalists and Evangelicals, comes from Mark 13 and the parallel passages found in Matthew 24 and Luke 21. These written in answer to the disciples question... "WHEN shall these things be, and what shall be the sign of your coming?"
It's all about WHEN. The "when" is unknowable even if one believes with all their heart it has to be soon. The faithful forget that speculation on the future is always just that. It is not fact. It is not how it will be and all speculation over the past 2000 years as to "when", to date has been 100% wrong.

Far too many Pastor types base their entire ministry on the imminent return of Jesus. One would be hard pressed to find the actual word "Jesus" in any other context in their sermons, articles and pronouncements.

It's all about the second coming and it's all about SOON for the most rabid and judgmental COG splinters. Those who question the wisdom of this mistaken approach to life become the scoffers who nip at the heels of the saints.
"...there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation,"
But running that risk, and with all due respect to the sincere seeker of Biblical truth, I predict that Jesus will not be returning any time soon.

Why not? Because in the very predictions of Jesus lie the fact that he was himself wrong about them. Jesus put a time limit in the context of his own predictions that has long since passed no matter how apologists endeavor to resurrect his prophecies for a yet future time.

"Verily I say unto you", This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled" (Matthew 24:34).
We simply have to admit, at face value, Jesus was wrong and not only DID that generation pass away, but so have countless others that followed. Jesus has not been misunderstood in this statement. He was wrong. Sincere not doubt and it simply will not go into the bible-reader mind that this might be the simple truth of the matter. There has to be another explanation that makes Jesus right in this perspective not 2000 years past.

"This generation" was not the one Jesus was talking TO, but rather the generation that "these things" would begin to happen IN. Whew! It's in the far future and means a future society when all these signs accelerate and come to a crashing finale ending with the Second Coming.

We now have wiggle room to account for the fact that Jesus has not returned yet. Jesus wasn't mistaken about his own times, he was referring to another time.

Gleason Archer, who offers this solutions to the "Jesus didn't mean it would be in his time," notes accurately what we all know 2000 years later.

"Obviously these apocalyptic scenes and earth-shaking events did not take place within the generation of those who heard Christ's Olivet discourse. Therefore Jesus could not have been referring to his immediate audience when He made this prediction..." (Encyclopedia of Bible Difficulties, pg 338).

Archer has to say this as he cannot possibly entertain the idea that Jesus was himself wrong in his perceptions of the times in which he lived and his role in those times. Later in the Gospels, authors would lower the expectations of the early Church, who thought Jesus meant them by reminding them late in the game when it was obvious Jesus wasn't coming any time soon that "a day with the Lord is as a thousand years. Sorry, we forgot to tell you that in the beginning." As long as one is incapable of thinking Jesus was himself wrong the Kingdom of God being just around the corner if he did his part, the doctrine of disappointments would have to be addressed as time went on.

And so we simply need to ask a very simple question. To whom was Jesus speaking? From the opening NT texts, it is obvious that the disciples, apostles and members of the church thought it meant THEM and did not get any hint of Jesus meaning anything other than THEM in THEIR time, which was short. The idea that Jesus would "build my Church" came decades after Jesus death when most were dead or dying of old age and yet the end did not come. Jesus never envisioned a Church that would follow decades and millennia after his death. Jesus life would always be lived and lost in the context of Judaism and the Synagogue.

But back to the original question. To whom was Jesus speaking when he said the words and to whom did he mean for it to apply? The answer is within the context, plain and simple.

"Take heed that no man deceive YOU." (Matt 24:4)
"...YOU shall hear of wars, and rumors of wars..." (Matt 24:6)
"Then shall they deliver YOU up to be afflicted..." (Matt 24:9)
"When YOU therefore shall see the the abomination of desolation..." (Matt 24:15)
"But pray YOU that your flight be not in the winter..." (Matt 24:20)
"Behold, I have told YOU before." (Matt 24:25)

The context in which Jesus spoke was his own. The "you" that he was addressing was the group he was addressing then and the group to which all these things would happen for, and soon. Jesus was telling those disciples that these things would happen in their time. Jesus made a mistake in his perceptions.
In our time, Christians read the same words and see the "ye" and "you" as "me" and "us" just as the original disciples would have. The only difference is that the disciples actually were disappointed and this generation has yet to realize their own disappointment to come.

The proof that Jesus himself meant the people he was talking to is found in the fact that the "this generation" comment is actually the tale end of a much larger, often overlooked quote taken in it's entirety.

"So likewise YE when YE shall SEE ALL these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto YOU, THIS generation shall not pass, till ALL these things be fulfilled." (Matt 24:33-24 emphasis mine)

There is no reason to twist the words of Jesus to mean more than they were ever intended to mean. A scripture can never mean what it never meant. The early disciples and infant Church, knew it meant them and we see the gradual deterioration of their personal confidence in the immediacy of the Second Coming promise throughout the NT.

I Thessalonians 4:15-17 "...For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout...Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air..." Meaning...some would die, but not us who tell you this. Jesus still means us.

I Corinthians 15:51,52 "...We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump..." Meaning...you will die, but we won't but it all works out...Jesus still meant us.

Romans 13:11-12 "And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand..." Meaning...we had some doubts, but now we know it's almost here. Jesus still meant us.

James 5:8 "Be ye also patient; establish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh." Meaning...impatience was growing, hang in there. Jesus still meant us.

I John 2:18 "Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time." Meaning...Jesus still meant us.

I Peter 4:7 "But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer."

Revelation 22:20 "He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly...."Meaning...ok, it's been about 60 years, but Jesus still means us.
Obviously, everyone of these quoted hopes and statements were wrong. Jesus did not return for them and to date has not returned for anyone. Paul and the early church who wrote in his name was just as wrong as the many COG prophetic types are wrong in this time. And it is based on the fact that Jesus himself was wrong which I know most Christians can never come to admit. For Paul it becomes....

" I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." Meaning...Ok, I give up, Jesus didn't mean us, or at least not me. I was wrong. 2 Timothy 4:8-9

...and at best, this will also become the reality for those alive today seeing the imminent return of Jesus in every newspaper and on every turn of the dial in this dangerous and contentious world of ours.

I'm not scoffing. Being accused of scoffing was a label for those in the early Church. The disciples expected Jesus return within days of his death and when they met him in Galilee, even doubted that. Its what you say to those that are becoming disillusioned but the others know that the return is still in their lifetime for sure. Scoffers were undermining the confidence of the early followers and disciples of Jesus. An observation is not scoffing.

Observations are based on the passage of millennia. It's a 2000 year old observation. To motivate with fear, false prophetic fulfillment's of non- prophecies, and imagined prophetic accuracy on topics anyone could speculate somewhat accurately about, is simply foolishness and makes the Church, in any form look stupid and ignorant. Jesus said his generation would not pass until the Son of Man be come. He was wrong.

So bent on not allowing the member to even remotely entertain the idea that Jesus was wrong, Paul was wrong and the Church is wrong , it was prudent to shift the blame for doubt to the member and thinker and away from the clergy, and thus we have...

2 Peter 3:3 "Knowing this first, (meaning---we forgot to add this apologetic) that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation. 5 For this they willingly are ignorant of....."

Obviously, the Church took Jesus words literally for them and not for some future generation. But still Jesus doesn't return to them. This shifts the problem to the scoffers, doubters and those that misunderstood Jesus and not the Church who needs to keep the hope of imminent return going like a carrot before the horse. The Church never entertained until they had to, the idea that Jesus didn't mean what he said about soon. It also implies that this doubt is deliberate and calculated. It can never just be doubt based on evidence and time just going on without any evidence of Jesus return. Even with the temple gone and the Romans more in power than ever, He didn't return. It must have felt for them then as one might say today. "If Jesus didn't return for the Holocaust, what will it take."

The "scoffers will come" scripture was added when it was obvious to the Church that people could and were scoffing. And what some consider scoffing is merely noting that the thing spoken is not so. It's not evil, it's just stating the obvious and putting, in this case, the church on the spot to explain its continued use of imminent return going long. It also lends credibility to Jesus mournful cry at the end of his life..."my God, my God...why have you forsaken me." I expect Jesus really meant that. It was a real shock not to have had things work out as one had supposed. Jesus had done his part. He had pushed the Romans right up to the edge and himself, right up to execution...and still, God did not intervene, sweep the Romans from the earth and set up the Kingdom. Only after Jesus actually died did the followers of Jesus have to rethink it all.

I know... and expect it to be said, "you'll think differently when Jesus returns, or you find yourself in hell with lots of time to rethink your position." I speak in the hope that the average Christian church member won't be motivated and won't tolerate pastors who use the fear of living on this planet to promote their own misguided agendas and speculations. One does not have to see the world only through the eyes of those that speculate on how things are or will be because frankly they don't and can't know.

Upcoming War With Arab Extremists (According to Malm)

Move over Six-Pack!  Move over Weinerdude!  Move over Spanky! There is a new 'voice crying out in the wilderness!'

God's greatest gift to the COG's has declared that there were will be an upcoming war with Islamic fundamentalist nations which will result in the total defeat of Muslim fundamentalism and a peace accord.  Of course soon after this there will be World War III and the tribulation.  Petra here we come!  Oh wait, we won't be invited - only Malm and his true believers will make it to the place of safety.

Malm seems to see himself as one of the only voice out there proclaiming the truth of God.  He has not yet declared himself Elijah or one of the Two Witnesses, but he is just a hairs breath away from doing it.  Only HE is the lone voice proclaiming these things:

TheShiningLight is the only site declaring this truth!  V I C T O R Y IS SURE!

No matter how severe the situation seems: This is NOT the tribulation and this war will NOT be lost.  The Anglo/Judeo/Americans will defeat Islamic Extremism and reach a peace agreement.  When that peace is declared as the abomination goes to the Holy Place: Then the tribulation will begin with the occupation of Judea and the defeat of the Anglo Americans by the New Europe.  1 Thess 5 and Mat 24:15-21.

Egypt is coming out of this Revolution a stronger than ever American ally; the United States has managed to overthrow the Ghaddafi regime in Libya and gain another ally in the region. Islamic Estremism is euduring defeat after defeat while a new broad Middle East war is brewing to destroy Pan Arabism and Shia Mahdi Fundamentalism.

When Israel destroys Hamas and Hezbollah and the US bombards the Revolutionary Guard in Iran, facilitating a regime change in that country, the stage will be set for a genuine dialogue for peace in the region.
This war will most likely begin on Israel’s borders, with the United States entering against Iran.
The Israeli goals will be met with the US exercising its veto power to prevent the Security Council from stopping the violence before the Israeli goals are met.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guards will be largely destroyed by American bombing; allowing an internal revolution of the Green Path party to take over in that nation.  This will be subsidized and encouraged by the National Endowment for Democracy.

Ultimately, Israel will reach a Peace Agreement with her neighbors. The Scriptures tell us that when the condition of Peace and Safety has been achieved and is officially announced; sudden destruction will fall from an unexpected source, Dan 8:23-25 and 1 Thes 5:3.

This coming war will be intense and bloody: Islamic Extremism WILL BE DEFEATED!  At that time; with our people at their peak:  Sudden Destruction will fall upon us, for the multitude of our evils.

And how does the prophet discern these miraculous events? God created the computer and online concordances just for his use!

In this latter day we have been provided with a great tool in the computer and the Bible with concordance on computer.  I suggest that you make use of the Blue Letter Bible site, which is Strong’s Concordance.  I also suggest that you copy the scriptures in your study including all the synonym scriptures and then paste them all onto a single page.  That way you can see all the scriptures on a point TOGETHER  which is a big help for me.

He is also making repeated exhortations that proper Bible Study can only be done by using a study of 'synonyms'.  Who would a thunk it!!!!!!!!!!

This second key is that we must put every scriptural reference  on a particular point together to understand the whole subject.   When doing so remember the synonyms!  God’s Word covers the same point in many places and in many ways with many synonyms; that is a protection against translational error.

Before studying any subject ALWAYS pray to our loving Father and ASK him to provide his spirit of  understanding [this is another vital key], then sit down and write out all the possible synonyms on the subject; then as you study write down any more synonyms that come to mind.  Look each up and study them.

I also suggest that you copy the scriptures in your study including all the synonym scriptures and then paste them all onto a single page.

If Malm was a real Christian he would know that Christians don't have to sit on their butts reading COG materials worrying about the end times. All they seem to do is worry about saving their rear ends! It's all about "qualifying."  Have you not been eating out on Saturdays, have you never knowingly let a little pork by-product entered your body, have you thrown out all the leavening - including those brewers yeast tablets, swimming pool baking soda, cream of tarter toothpaste and other tainted satanic tools of deception.  Grace filled believers know that all of this malarkey is a waste of time.

It is interesting that the lectionary scripture readings for the last several weeks has been about a 'new light' coming into the world.  A new way of doing things, believing and thinking.  Yet when you read Malm's blog all you see is 'glowering darkness'. War death, destruction, satanic influences, conspiracies, tribulation and trials.  The only hope is to follow myriads of rules, regulations, laws and  silly interpretations in order to save you sorry ass.  It's no wonder Armstrongism is fading into uselessness and irrelevance.  There is no hope in Armstrongism!
