Bob Thiel: Because of God's Mercy He Kills and Maims With Tornadoes

Bob Thiel, the non-ordained self-appointed false prophet, has went to great lengths today to point out that his vengeful god truly does delight in killing, maiming and destroy with tornadoes.

Bob started out with:

While the terms ‘tornado’ and ‘cyclone’ are not in the NKJV, KJV, or the DRB (Douay Rheims Bible), some translations of the Bible (like THE MESSAGE) do use them, and those that do not tend to use the term ‘whirlwind,’ which is basically what a tornado/cyclone is.
The Bible shows that whirlwinds are one of the forms of weather that God controls:
3 The Lord is slow to anger and great in power,
And will not at all acquit the wicked.
The Lord has His way
In the whirlwind and in the storm,
And the clouds are the dust of His feet. (Nahum 1:3)
God teaches that because of disobedience He will scatter people and use a whirlwind:
8 Then the word of the Lord came to Zechariah, saying, 9 “Thus says the Lord of hosts:
‘Execute true justice,
Show mercy and compassion
Everyone to his brother.
10 Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless,
The alien or the poor.
Let none of you plan evil in his heart
Against his brother.’
11 But they refused to heed, shrugged their shoulders, and stopped their ears so that they could not hear. 12 Yes, they made their hearts like flint, refusing to hear the law and the words which the Lord of hosts had sent by His Spirit through the former prophets. Thus great wrath came from the Lord of hosts. 13 Therefore it happened, that just as He proclaimed and they would not hear, so they called out and I would not listen,” says the Lord of hosts. 14 “But I scattered them with a whirlwind among all the nations which they had not known. Thus the land became desolate after them, so that no one passed through or returned; for they made the pleasant land desolate.” (Zechariah 7:8-14)
21 A cyclone sweeps them up — gone!
Not a trace of them left, not even a footprint.
22 Catastrophes relentlessly pursue them;
they run this way and that, but there’s no place to hide

He then has to drag in British Israelism into his brewing pot:

The following is telling of a time when at least some of the descendents of Ephraim (currently dominating lands such as the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) will face a major destruction from a tornado:
5 Even though Ephraim ran wild,
the black sheep of the family.
“God’s tornado is on its way,
roaring out of the desert.
It will devastate the country,
leaving a trail of ruin and wreckage.
The cities will be gutted,
dear possessions gone for good.
16 Now Samaria has to face the charges
because she has rebelled against her God:
Her people will be killed, babies smashed on the rocks,
pregnant women ripped open.
(Hosea 13:15-16, THE MESSAGE)
Bob particularly likes vs. 16 in hte above quote from The Message.  He takes delight in  babies smashed against the rocks and pregnant women ripped open.  He can't talk about Jesus but loves to quote his vengeful god by somehow tying the USA into the above Scripture.  Oh yeah, I forgot,  its British Israelism so it is 100% fact.

In the above, notice that Samaria is also affected. This seems to be a reference to the ‘melting pot’ of the USA (Samaria was a melting pot mixture of Babylonians and Israelites).

Then, he ties his invading German armies into taking citizens of he USA to Germany as slaves:

7 “They sow the wind,
And reap the whirlwind.
The stalk has no bud;
It shall never produce meal.
If it should produce,
Aliens would swallow it up.
8 Israel is swallowed up;
Now they are among the Gentiles
Like a vessel in which is no pleasure.
9 For they have gone up to Assyria,
Like a wild donkey alone by itself;
Ephraim has hired lovers. (Hosea 8:6-9)
The passage in Hosea 8 is clearly referring to the descendents of Israel, including Ephraim and Samaria. Notice that they are among the Gentiles and some go to Assyria (end time Germany). There are enough references to whirlwinds and the end time descendents of Israel that it seems like one or more major tornadoes are prophesied to affect them.
After being mocked for the last couple of days for defending his vengeful god Bob claims that the people killed by the tornadoes were not necessarily the worst sinners out there.  Though they might have had a little good, they were essentially all evil people.

Thus, though some of these passages may also have a figurative sense, major tornadoes are forecasted in biblical prophecy.

Now, does this mean that those most affected by tornadoes are necessarily worse sinners than those less affected?

The biblical answer is no.

Notice the words of Jesus:
45…He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. (Matthew 5:45)
4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish. (Luke 13:4-5)
He ends with his always encouraging tone:

God uses weather and other events to try to get people’s attention.
God does not want people to suffer, but to turn to Him
He uses weather for correction and for His mercy (Job 37:13).
Will you heed the weather warnings?

Nice YHVH of the Highlands you have there Bob. "Love or I will so kill you.." LOL

Joshua 1:19

Here we find YHVH taking charge of mountain warfare and winning but not doing too good in the valley because the enemy had chariots of iron...Doh.

YHVH is great at Baal Weather but not so good at blizzards I guess.

That's one heck of a tornado!

That Tornado strikes UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand! That's a heck of a tornado isn't it? Has a mind of it's own! That one will set a record for longest traveled tornado ever! ;)

This guy's heritage derives itself from a man who claimed to have been given God's wisdom to be able to preach the gospel around the world without those who heard it knowing that it had been preached to them. (Almost verbatim quote from HWA in a 1975's Bible Study in the AC gym).

The problem is that this type of gospel holds people accountable for things that they do not, or cannot know. The God I worship is not like that! The Bible portrays Him as a purposeful God who warns people of impending punishment. You can't have a bunch of "natural" disasters which seem to conform to existing patterns, and expect people to see them as punishment, and to make corrections in their lives that they do not know to make. And, it certainly doesn't count when you have self-appointed, nearly invisible, incredible fools going around claiming to speak for God.

What message seems to be going out? What is the street buzz? Most of the people who blame these natural cycles on anything are blaming it on global climate change! That's what is resonating with the people, not the message a bunch of nearly invisible Armstrongites claim to be getting out.

Why HAARP on this one tragedy? Seeking attention? If God was using you, you would think He would give you a specific prophecy 'before' the event actually took place. Anybody can quote scripture, even Bob JazzHands Theil.

Once more, British Israelism is daft and stands disproved: The United States is not a lost tribe of Israel.

More important, there is no mapping of the Old Testament to today: The New Testament stands as an obstacle squarely in the way.

Booby Thiel is once again so delusional that there's no common ground for his being able to hold a dialog with sentient intelligent beings.

My cat can do better.

..."

For thousands, if not millions, of years, people have been dancing around fires, painting their bodies, wearing masks, killing animals, even people, even their own children, and holding up the blood or doing other strange things with it, and many other odd rituals which they thought would either bring rain for their crops or mollify the wrath of the gods.

The Greeks believed that the Harpiae, or the hounds of Zeus, were directly responsible for tornadoes, and that "bolts" or darts of lightning were forged by the three Cyclopes. When Zeus got upset with the people, he sicked his dogs on them and started shooting these bolts at them. Also, Aiolos was thought to be the keeper of the horse spirits responsible for storms and winds. All of these deities were subject to the will of Zeus.

In Norse Germanic mythology, Thor (Þórr) is the the god of storms, thunder and lightning. Thor's club or hammer is named Mjölnir, literally "crusher" and by extension, "destroyer." We get the word "thunder" from the Old English "þunor," which is derived from Thor's name, and thought to be caused when his hammer strikes.

The Canaanite deities Yahweh and Hadad (Ba'al) both seem to be described as storm gods, although El is never described in those terms. I think christians are trained to read the bible's many names for god as though they all refer to one single deity, when in fact what we're seeing is older references to many different deities from Canaanite, Phoenician and other Mesopotamian myth cycles, which became the gods of the proto-Judaic pantheon, but were not all expunged from the many different scrolls when the monotheistic references were later added.

El, Yahweh, and Hadad, like Zeus and Thor, have all retreated into the mists of antiquity, leaving us moderns alone. These days, storms are just caused by the energy of our sun which heats the atmosphere, driving the thermal engine that keeps our atmosphere moving, bringing together warm and cold air, rain, thunder and lightning, and yes, even tornadoes. These gods aren't fighting each other over who is going to get to control this storm or that storm, and no anthropomorphic personifications of natural phenomena are "trying" to "get our attention" so that we'll "repent" and "obey" them.

Let's see what he says about the large earthquake in California just a little while ago. Will he jump on a plane and go to Petra now? Let's hope so.

Many in the COG's love to take passages out of context. Who where were these prophets speaking to? Certainly not the U.S.

Douglas Becker you are right to infer that Bob Thiel is effectively stuck in the OT. He ignores virtually all the NT teachings about Faith and Grace, and instead follows the old ways of the Jews by committing oneself to the Law in a (failed) attempt to be saved. In other words he rejects the new covenant, which I find amazing. It demonstrates the power of a cult thus making a person blind to the Truth.
