Women Not Required To Keep Sabbath?

A while back I posted a comment from Yahoo about a man asking what he should do about his non submissive wife.

Today it was pointed out to him that

Exodus 20:10 says nothing about a wife keeping sabbath, just sons, daughters, servants, cattle, etc.  Armstrongites can find a way around any law!

Ok, your right, I need to be reminded of that, but I still have questions then.
Going back to Ex 20:10

...but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.

I'm thinking, Wow, have I missed that?  A son, daughter, servants, cattle, etc. I can insist they don't work on the Sabbath, but if my wife wants to, the only thing I should do is set the right example?

No one can overstudy the Bible like the COGs.

In the WCG, Herbert Armstrong said that all men needed to attend the Feast of Tabernacles, but it wasn't necessary that women attend.

Maybe because Herbert liked it when women were "a little naughty"?

I do believe that female naughtiness is biblical.

Has anyone asked the man (with the non-submissive wife) if he's tried spanking her?

All three of the Abrahamic religions subjugate women to "less than" status. Islam and Christianity seem to take things to the extreme though.

Armstrongism, with is idolatry of the law has taken the status of women in the church and relegated them to the kitchen and the bed. They are too stupid to have any biblical knowledge or to have any leadership positions.

HWA, Meredith, Flurry, et al., have made women into mere chattel. Be subservient to your husbands, clean your homes, take care of the kids, and be a willing sex machine for the lord of the manor.

Power and sex dominate all the conversations and writings of the leaders of the Armstrongite splinter cults.

Even Apostle Malm is resorting to the same thing. He is seeking every opportunity he can to relegate women to chattel status and he recently has been curiously obsessed with gays in the Church - just like Meredith.

So,if my wife won't keep the sabbath or go to the feast, can I spank her and rape her?

This type of second class existence is certainly not taught in the Christian Church which I attend! We study Jesus' interaction with the various women whose lives intersected with His own.

I believe that the ACOGs have always painted women into the role of weak deceiver, based on the story of the fall of Adam and Eve, the foreign pagan women who seduced various people into Baal worship, Jezebel, and others. However, they do not stereotype the male gender based on stories of men who led others astray or promoted evil.

This is a huge double standard that Jesus attempted to correct, much to the marvelment of the Pharisees, and even the disciples.
During His darkest hour, all of the men, except St.John, deserted Jesus. The cadre of Galilean women who had supported Him throughout His earthly ministry, however, were right there with Him through the whole bloody mess!

Armstrongism, if we were looking for yet another descriptive adjective could best be described as a "redneck" church, although calling it that is grossly unfair to the rednecks.

Maybe he is looking for a boyfriend?

History has proven over the years that the thing a person screams out against the most is usually what they are indulging in themselves.

Even HWA got tired of Spanky's constant gay haranguing, and referred to Spanky as "...the most effeminate man on campus!" Ouch! No wonder Spanky has to keep thrusting his hyper-masculinity on everyone!

Remember that sermon of his where he talked about clothing regulations? At some point he is discussing how he has seen young women at services dressed inappropriately, and he describes in great detail and at great length what he means, going so far as to say something about the hemline of the skirt being up around the part of her body "where she ought to be spanked!"

I always loved that: all those supposedly straight-laced members squirming in their seats, giggling red-faced behind their well-manicured hands, confronted (probably for the first time) with the prospect of a fetish. I also am quite sure old Herbert knew exactly what he was doing. That climactic line about spanking a young girl's under-dressed bottom was delivered with far too much breathless enthusiasm for it to be innocent. Thinking about that always makes me laugh.
