Old Davie must really be humiliated to see that the Meredith clan has bigger and more expensive homes than he does. Since he is the most important COG leader alive today this certainly is a smack to his face!

You are forgetting something. Meredith has to beg his members to donate their homes to LCG when they die. Pack teaches RCG members that, because of holding everything in common, PACK ALREADY OWNS their homes!
Would Jesus Christ own a home like those pictured on this website that are owned by the Armstrong Churches of God fear religion franchise holders?
The Armstrong fear religion business is a good niche business with little to no accountability. Spend a couple hours preparing a Sabbath Sermon; smooze the dumb sheep tithe slaves; predict the end of the age and the return of Christ in 3 to 5 years - updating your prophetic scenario every 3 to 5 years for 50 years when the scenarios don't pan out; and live in a nice home in a nice neighbor. The dumb tithe slave sheep are too stupid to figure it out!
I will say though that there are quite a few LCG members withholding their tithes because they feel LCG is going down the path of WCG all over again.
Not all of us are sheep.
It's a dangerous practice (withholding tithes) becaue we know that Mr. Meredith is systematically checking members tithe records. He used to proclaim that he only checked tithe records prior to ordinations but rumor has it that all of the victims of the purge were withholding tithes in protest to the crap that's going on at headquarters.
I'm guessing that if they would have just forked over a large donation they would still be in the church.Some of them were rich and could have easily done so. At least they showed character by sticking to their guns. Others have cowered under and rolled on their friends during McNair inquisition sessions and then forked over large sums of cash so they could just get suspended for a short time instead if getting the boot all together. Of course many are now suspicious of them because it's hard to trust someone when you know they snitch on you at the first sign of trouble.
LCG is like an apple with a rotten core. Headquarters is rotten but the further away you get from them the better the people and elders. Unfortunately we all know that in time a rotting core will ruin the whole piece of fruit.
It's sad to watch the church you loved fall apart. It's sad to see your friends suffer for having the nerve to be truthful when questioned.
WCG, GCG and now LCG has taught me not to put my trust in men. As soon as they get a little but of a following they turn into greedy ego driven tyrants. It's all so sad.
