COG Prophet Says There Is Too Much Jesus Being Preached In The COG's

Dave Pack has said something about the other Church of God's I would never have expected.  Well, part of me did, but the claim against other COG's on what they supposedly preach is what is surprising.  Dave is offended that some COG's preach Jesus more than they do the doom and gloom of the past.  Imagine that, COG's preaching Jesus, who knew?

Many are unaware that the apostasy produced new positions in thinking about the Work of God. Many independents and others, usually but not always in the smaller splinters, now believe there is no longer an ongoing commission, nor any need, to either ANNOUNCE the kingdom of God to the world or to WARN the nations of Israel. These believe that all such responsibility ceased at Mr. Armstrong’s death. Most others believe God has commissioned His Church to fulfill His purpose—to continue His Work—but have become confused as to what that is.
For instance, the Philadelphia Church of God (PCG) believes its main purpose is to “warn Laodicea.” Its offshoots then see a duty to turn and warn PCG! Most others see no need to warn the final, lukewarm era, thinking this arrogant and presumptuous. Similarly, they would give little or no emphasis to a SPECIAL WARNING to the great nations of Israel—what Mr. Armstrong often referred to as “the Ezekiel Warning.”
“Jesus,” Growing the Church and Evangelical Protestants
Over time, the apostates slowly conditioned the Church, without most recognizing it, to

think the above approach was “unloving,” and that a different emphasis—one of “helping” people and “leading them to Jesus”—should be employed. They felt this should replace what was seen as an old approach of “doomsaying,” “sundowning” or offering a “save your skin” gospel connected to warningnations.
If I told you that most who think they are doing God’s Work today now believe it primarily consists of, or at least includes, Jesus’ role is central to the gospel—the Church or individuals giving to disaster victims and relief organizations—warning, particularly whole nations, is judgmental—or the Work as we knew it is finished, you would surely believe I am speaking of today’s Worldwide Church of God. Sadly, to one degree or another, these are the splinters. Worse, most who attend them have not grasped how far their leaders have departed from the commission that over 150,000 people helped carry out as recently as the mid-1980s. The Work of God

One thing is for sure, Bob Thiel and James Malm sure don't preach Jesus!

They’ve all lost their compasses. Jesus is the reason for even having a church or a gospel in the first place.

Jesus Who?

In the PCG, they probably mention Churchill or Hitler more than Jesus. They have a booklet on Churchill. Do they have one on Jesus? They probably have about 30 booklets on Gerald Flurry, one for each of his grandiose titles, he is the fulfillment of almost every prophet in the bible. All the OT prophets were merely forerunners of Gerald The Great. How can Jesus compete with that?

Dave misrepresents the PCG. They claimed that their main responsibility was to warn the laodiceans only for several years during the 1990s. Since that time, their focus has been on prophesy.

Sadly the cartoon of Christ being on the outside of the church is true. Scratch the surface of church culture in the XCOGs, and it's the commandments of men rather than God. It's not biblical morality at all. I believe these church leaders are fully aware of this.

really encouraging to see the godless so concerned about Christ (not!); actually is a not so subtle example of this pages tendency to compare the cogs method of preaching the gospel to the catholic rooted churchs method...

more evidence of bias...

Paul I know, Jesus I know, but who the hell is David Pack ?

Dave claims to be "that Prophet," therefore, he is Jesus!

Most ministers behave as if they are in the place of Jesus. They expect their words to be regarded as the words of God. It's a cult trait.

lol! that reference to Scripture sums up the presumptuousness of all these wannabe prophets...

I think Dave pack thinks he will replace Christ.

Dave Pack's failed prophecy in August 2013 proved effectively he is not that prophet or anything like Christ.

!!! Most people do not know Pack predicted on Elul 24th 2013, that all the "COG's" would hear the voice of God and be told by God to join RCG, give pack their assets, and come under his authority or else have one of your arms turned into a crispy withered nub. !!!

When that never happened, he did exactly what he said false prophet Harold Camping would do after he failed "May 21st, 2011" "Judgement Day" prophecy:

Let’s look ahead to May 22. There will have been no rapture. No great earthquake. No graves opened. No Judgment Day. Mr. Camping will have only two options: (1) admit that he is a false prophet (highly unlikely), or (2) spin it in some way—claim that his prophecy was fulfilled in some mysterious fashion. Perhaps he will attempt to portray the hundreds of minor earthquakes that normally occur around the world on any given day as a fulfillment of his “worldwide earthquake” prediction. However, he will have a most difficult time trying to explain how other elements of his false prophecy were “fulfilled.” Nevertheless, prepare for the spin!

Except Pack never claimed it was fulfilled in some mysterious way, he dragged the church further into a complicated web of hard to understand prophecies claiming it would happend at a later time and burried his failed prophecy so far under a heap of other upcoming prophectic events that that day is "NOW" lost on the minds of his members who have turned over to him their control to study to show "YOURSELF" approved.

He is nothing like Christ and doesn't want Christ to be confused with the Gospel. But in order to understand the message you need to understand the one who brought the message and how just vital to that message the one is who brought it in the first place, seeing as Christ will be the one administering all that He said in the message He brought.
