Philadelphia Church of God: Pee-on's Forced To Clean Up Sins Of Leaders

Its that time of year again and the PCG elite are making the youth and lowly employees clean up their "sins".

This has been the standard practice from the early days with Herbert in Pasadena.  Employees deleavened HWA's home, GTA's, Meredith's and the rest of the ministry that had church-owned housing. Very few of them ever cleaned their offices or their vehicles. Very few of them ever lifted a finger to help cast their sins out.

The church also had its zealots that went into screeching fits every year demanding that people throw out the baking soda toothpaste, brewers yeast, the baking soda for swimming pools, and lots of other stupid demands.

All for a day that the New Covnant does not command.  Sigh.

You'd have to keep the Flurry Family off the plane to completely de-leaven it right?

The Orthodox Jewish requirements for deleavening and acceptable products differ from HWA's mandate. Although a WCG minister made a remark that Jews probably start deleavening just after Purim is false; it's actually a quick process just before Passover - including a deliberately hidden a piece for children to find. And leaven is just that: yeast - leavening chemicals such as sodium bicarbonate are okay.
But a real downer for the ministers who would tell us "It's not the feast of Unleavened Beer" -- if it's made from fermented yeast, the Jewish rule is get rid of it.
There was another trick that I remember Bob Thiel quash - Jews may temporarily 'sell' leavened stashes (such as a warehouse full of yeast) to Gentiles and 'buy it back' after the Feast...

Completely ignorant b.s. Though I still keep the days I and my wife (and kids) haven't vacuumed for UB for over 25 years. We get rid of leavening that's edible just before sunset on the 14th, though biblically we could get rid of it on the first day, the 15th. That would probably fit the symbolism better.

Why wouldn't the PCG elite hire somebody else to cleanse their lives of their sins instead of rooting them out themselves? They figure the death penalty already got paid by somebody else, so why bother? They're on their way to agreeing with traditional Protestants.

All for a day that the New Covenant does not command.

Then why was it still celebrated into the second century? Don't you remember Polycarp, Polycrates, and the quartodecimens? Polycarp said that he and the Apostle John kept it.

The New Covenant in Jesus' blood has no commands. It's sole purpose was to forgive command breaking!

Vacuum chairs, but put out the major sin of lording it over members? Never!

Why couldn't they have hired a janitorial company to clean the plane? I believe there are companies out there that specializes in cleaning airplanes. Oh wait - that would require them to pay someone. Why pay someone when you have a "college" campus full of slaves to serve you. Don't these kids realize that they're being used by this cult?

I thought one lesson of deleavening is that you can't remove someone else's sins. Only your own.

If the students ave never been aboard the plane....

Well, then again - how do we know they weren't paid to do all this?

Therein lies the problem with Armstrong's ignorant vacuuming doctrine, you can't remove anyones sin, not even your own. Jesus already did that. All that we can do after being forgiven (sins removed) is to strive to refrain from sin as best that we can.

Vacuuming crumbs is like trying to remove your own sins. It's self righteousness to the hilt. Removing bread, cookies, and cakes is symbolic of refraining from habitual sinful acts.

Armstrong's days of unleavened bread were/is nothing but self righteousness to its extreme!I

They should be more concerned (as are my strategically importsnt customers who remain open) with sanitizing their operations several times per day against the corona virus. This does involve vacuuming, and floor scrubbing, as well as wiping down contact surfaces, such as tables, chairs, and door handles, coupled with social distancing.
