I have found information on your site over the years regarding WCG and specifically Kevin Dean and his arrest/sentencing. I was abused by Kevin beginning at the age of 14 while at summer camp - it then continued while I was at Imperial. I am looking for other women who were abused by him while he was employed at WCG. And also looking for those who might be able to confirm that the church covered up the abuse (by Kevin and SO many others). I see a few anonymous mentions in the comments. I am wondering if you have any further insight on his other victims. I had sought to pursue criminal charges years ago, however the statute of limitations had passed. The statute of limitations has been reopened in California for three years as a result of the overwhelming cases of clergy abuse to allow prosecution of old cases. I want to be sure that should Kevin survive his current prison sentence, he will not be released back into the world to continue to perpetrate abuse as he has done for the last four decades. Having others to add their voices and insight about the churches knowledge of the abuse would be very helpful.

Would love to see a class action lawsuit against GCI, the successor organization to WCG. They must have a very deep pocket indeed after looting the $200 million of various church assets.
I would love to see a class action lawsuit exposing the tithing extortions of GCI and all the COG splits, but it probably wouldn’t “fly” in this age, according to the apostle Paul. The basis of the lawsuit would be (very briefly): In the Bible there is no commandment to tithe on money but you could pay in money if you add 20%, during the Levitical Priesthood – Lev 27:31. There was no commandment to tithe before Moses. Historical accounts of tithing by Abraham and Jacob are not commandments of God to tithe. When the Levitical Priesthood was no more the “change” - Hebrews 7:12 – of the tithing law was removed, not transferred, not reverted to a previous law because there was no previous tithing LAW to revert to! The Greek word for “change” is translated “removing” (KJV) in Hebrews 12:27 and there’s no doubt the Greek word means removing/removal in Heb 12:27. Finally, the COGS can’t get their fake facts straight when talking about tithing under the Levitical Priesthood: the Levites were only about 2% of the population – Num 31:30 – and received tithes only every third year – Deut 14:27-29. What’s third is the year, not the tithe.
I went to SEP and my bunk girl was up n early everyday. She told me Kevin Dean loved her. Picked flowers n of course sex. I went straight to mrs dean n told her everything she had suspected he was cheating but didn't know the girl. What's he in prison for?
4:32. Kevin was arrested for felony 12 charges of child abuse including grooming of a minor. He escaped from jail and with the help of some of his employees and went on the run and ended up in Mexico. He was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

I know first hand that Kevin Dean is a predator. I went to Imperial from 1980 to 1990. He preyed on one of my class mates older sister who was only in 9th grade. I believe she got pregnant and had the baby. He is a disgusting man hat hid among others.

Sex abuse was rampant plain and simple. A family member was raped by a married member of a MAJOR WCG family when she was 15. When it was exposed, the parent and the child was brought before the "council of elders" who were blamed and roasted for the affair. Despicable. This is fact.

Higher ups in the COGs don’t care. LCG and some of its “council of elders” members have covered up for some perverts. The worst one I’m aware of is a pervert that tried to have his sleazy way with young teen girls in the Philippines. It was swept under the rug. Demonic to say the least.
COGlodyte leaders take the quietest most low profile path to avoiding damage to the reputation of the church. Like folks in the ghetto, they know that getting the police involved will only escalate the problem. So, they don't call them, and won't tell if others call. They've done this with other questionable situations, such as children dying because of parents' reliance on faith healing, alcoholism amongst members, or member on member crime, protection of the ministers' delinquent chikdren, etc.
We can see why they do this, but it is not morally or ethically correct, and hurts the innocents. God's real church would handle such matters with God's wisdom, but we're talking about groups here who only fake the gifts. It's just more proof that they are not what they advertise themselves as being.
I remember him from SEP. I remember him standing there with Jeb Egbert at some function and I remember thinking that Jeb was an actual good guy and that Dean was just a smooth charismatic guy.
Not everyone in the Worldwide Church of God or its splinter groups was a true Christian with the Holy Spirit. The fact is that too many of them were wicked and malicious people with evil spirits. You really did need to beware of those ones. Even then, there was the very real problem of the ministers supporting the perverts and expelling their victims. Life could be complicated and confusing.
If entire splinter groups today like the PCG and the RCG can be led by demoniacs like Gerald Flurry and David Pack, who went to Ambassador College, do not be surprised that many of the little people also were nothing but evil continually. Rather than trying to please God or serve the brethren, many people had their own selfish and immoral agendas. Since, technically at least, the splinter groups taught against sexual immorality, they seemed to feel that they needed to cover up the truth about all the sin that actually existed within them.
It wasn't a special group at all, 9:48. The percentage of good vs bad reflected the general makeup of the public. I do believe that 99% of the people who became members had good intentions, some most likely realizing that they had defects and seeking healing. Had it been a transformative group, these people would have received that healing. The problem is, they never did. They attempted with varying degrees, through sheer will power, to become that to which they aspired through their membership. When the temptations became too great, and will power broke down, the consequences were often devastating. Those afflicted with alcoholism slip and fall, and so do people afflicted with sexual pathologies. Consider all that happened when HWA's will power failed, and the consequences suffered by his daughter Dorothy. It is ironic indeed that Kevin Dean ended up being so close to HWA!
I saw on UCG's website where Aaron Dean has written on his profile about HWA "putting the church back on track" and it was "God who helped a 92 year old travel to 9 countries in 24 days." Anyone who lived thru those years in Worldwide back in those days can tell you HWA DID NOT put the church back on track. If anything, he became more out of control in his last 7 or 8 years of his life (see the Kessler letter) As far as his foreign travels, his audiences were bought with church funds and his message represented nothing like the message of the authentic early apostles. It blows my mind that they really believe this nonsense after 40+ years and makes me wonder what they knew of Kevin's actions back in the day.

Frankly, I'm surprised Aaron feels the need to build himself up by grabbing the long-dead coattails of HWA. Aaron is smart and has good qualities, but that does not keep one from falling under the sway of a cult or curiously charismatic cult leader. Aaron was young and was formed within the WCG cult. I basically see WCG for what it was/is but its effect is far reaching in the psyche of those that were unfortunate enough to have fallen for its damaging teachings and practices. But, the Lord is still a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Aaron has no identity outside of Herbert Armstrong. He is stuck in the past like the rest of the COG ministry. He may be a nice person, after all, but he also has helped gloss over and cover up abuses by HWA and others. He also joined ranks with the rebellious leadership of UCG when it was leaving WCG. He lost his integrity decades ago.
