The world has watched the devastating fires in the past few days that happened in Hawaii. Never let a world disaster or weather event go by without a COG leader using it for their own manipulative advantage.
The Great Bwana Bob Muzungu to Africa and 100 Caucasians says that if you do not heed his call and join his church you are doomed to die in more destructive fires to come because you will be a Laodicean who will now know when it is time to flee.
Most Laodiceans believe that they will see the signs and heed the call to flee when it is time. Yet, according to other passages in scripture, such as Revelation 12:17, they will not.
Unlike those in Maui, scripture says that God’s people should NOT wait until the last minute to flee.
If you are not truly supporting the Philadelphian work at this time, do not deceive yourself that you will know when it is time to flee–Jesus only promised that to the Philadelphians in Revelation 3:7-13.
Later he says:
Why have I written that Zephaniah 2:1-3 has to do with Philadelphian Christians?
For they are the only ones who will actually ‘gather together’ as they should.
Why?
Because it is they who will lead the final phase of the work and it is only to the Philadelphians that Jesus promises to protect from the coming hour of trial, also referred to as the Great Tribulation and the Day of the Lord
Then this:
If you are not with the group that is leading the final phase of the workwill you not see that you will not be able to flee if you wait until the last moment? While that may be remotely possible for some, remember that God inspired Zephaniah to admonish God’s people to ‘gather together…before the decree is issued.’
Most will discount this and many will scoff. Most COGs do not have anyone considered to be a prophet, and in those other than the CCOG who claim to, have prophets that have been proven to be false. But the Bible says that there will be prophets in the last days and that God does communicate with them in dreams.
Never fear though, the Great Bwana Bob Mzungu has them in his prayers!
My prayers are with those affected by the fires.
As far as fires go, the Continuing Church of God has the following video related to weather and fires on our Bible News ProphecyYouTube channel:
Fires and the Wrath of God
Fires have hit many places; Significant wildfires have hit California. Shortly after the start of the Thomas Fire, then California Governor Jerry Brown warned that the US President did not have “the fear of the wrath of God.” Does God use fire to encourage people to change? What are some of the scriptures associated with fire in the Bible? What is sin? What are some of the scriptures associated with the wrath of God in the New Testament? Is Governor Brown being hypocritical here? What happened to Sodom and Gomorrah? Is this relevant now? What did Jesus teach about the time of Sodom and the coming time of troubles? Dr. Thiel addresses these issues and more.

There are no such things as church eras. That is an extra-biblical theory which HWA borrowed in compiling his church's doctrines. It is now part of the package of internal gnosticism which members cite as part of their misplaced ego over knowing "the truth".
Join CCOG and be spared from devastating fires... but your pastor might dig up the graves of your tragically deceased children.
This is a different interpretation closer to the meaning of God's word.
End time-warning to the Jews about the Wrath of God, His Anger.
NOT Satan’s wrath of the tribulation period but Yahweh’s anger - His seven bowls.
1- (Zep2:1) Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired/without shame.
[It is not the ‘woman’ (Christ’s assembly) but the nation of Judah at that time with which God was angry with. They should turn/gather to Him then and now. Zep3:20…I gather you together…]
2- (Zep2:2) Before the decree bring forth,… [decree: official order issued by a legal
authority]
(Rev16:1) …a loud voice from the temple… ”Go and pour out on the earth the seven
bowls of the anger of God." [His anger Rev14:10; 15:1]
(Zep2:2) …before the day [day of Yahweh] pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Yahweh
come upon you, before the day of Yahweh's anger come upon you. [Isa13:9, 13]
[He warns the shameless nation of Judah of His wrath/anger, the seven
bowls]
3- (Zep2:3) Seek ye Yahweh, [(Zep3:20) gather to Him] all ye meek of the earth
[not only Judaism (Judah) the nation not desired, but also Christianity],
which have wrought His judgment; seek righteousness, seek meekness:
it may be ye shall be hid in the day of Yahweh's anger.
God alone is our Refuge and Fortress [Psalm 91 / Psalm 18:1-3]
"When they arrest you and hand you over, do not worry beforehand about what you are to say, but say whatever is given you in that hour; for it is not you who speak, but it is the Holy Spirit.
(Mark 13:11)
(Rev 12:11) And they overcame him [Satan] because of the blood of the Lamb and because of the word of their testimony, and they did not love their life even when faced with death.
God doesn’t like cowards, the fearful who don’t’ trust in Him but try to hide behind rocks to save their own “precious” skin. He has a very sobering answer for them.
"But for the COWARDLY and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."
(Rev 21:8)
New Hawaiian word for Bob Thiel---
A-HOLE-AH
One thing that the ACOG's have learned how to do well is to use FEAR as a motivator. For me, I'd rather take my chances with the fires than join one of the ACOG splinters!
Listen all you unrepentant S.O.Bs, The great White Savior of Africa and 100 Caucasians, will zap you with his Leading WitchDoctors and you will support the Church of WitchDoctors Whoopie and Whackjobs 👹👹👹😂😂😂👿👿🤪🤪🤪🤐
Every single time Bob drags out his non Biblical b.s. about church eras (I totally agree with you, Anon @ 9:05) he accidentally reveals he is not a Christian. For us believers, Jesus is our place of safety. No cave in Petra with a fake prophet to orchestrate what, under any of these so called "men", would be literal hell on earth. The church won't even be here for the time of Jacob's trouble, but even if you don't agree with me about that, Jesus Christ Himself tells us over and over that He is our place of safety. He is our rock and fortress in Whom we trust. Bob is not a believer. If he were, things like this would never enter his mind, much less leave his doubly blessed lying lips.
Bob you have no idea what you are doing and that is the only thing you are "continuing" to do well.
Thiel will go by the way of James Malm before he finishes making an ass out of himself....
Bob's God is so BCE
My view how the book of Revelation should be read, based on the text and not a mail-route.
The book of Revelation must be a message to God's people only, more specifically the overcomers, because it begins with the message to the seven assemblies, His people. All epistles are in ONE scroll because it is to ALL assemblies, and the book ends with:
Rev 22:16 "I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the assemblies. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star."
They are not messages to religious organizations during specific eras (no group-reward), but every letter is personally addressed to “HE/WHO overcomes” and “let HIM hear” in every of His assemblies, no matter how different they are with their described different characters (strengths, weaknesses, their attitudes). The overcomers {Rev 12:11] in them, at any time and in any of God’s assembly, congregation will get the same promised reward – eternal life (Matt 20:1-16). That includes white raiment, new name, crown, authority, and sitting on the throne.
It’s always the end of all things in the COG!
Except the prediction addiction. David Pack freebases prophecy while Bob snorts it
I wonder what Jerry Garcia would have thought of Bob Thiel. From some of the quotes I've read, Jerry's beliefs in an expansive higher process of organization would most likely have made Bob's aura appear as a severe limitation, possibly the very essence of negativity. And, I don't believe that is too far off base. Certainly, most of us here would find some accuracy in that as well.
The book of Revelation might be addressed to God's people mostly, but it cannot be to God's people only. Otherwise why the warning work? Why the radio, TV programs and internet sites. Revelations mentions billions of people dying. How could a loving God allow such a disaster with out the warning in the book?
This reminds me of a WWCG minister claiming from the pulpit that the bible was only written for members of Herbs church. It's nothing more than HWA and his minion ministers exalting themselves. This ploy is common in religious cults.
This post states, "Most Laodiceans believe that they will see the signs and heed the call to flee when it is time." More Laodicean bashing.
I very much dislike the use of the term Laodicean as an epithet. Use of epithet divides the Body of Christ. Yet, the usage of the epithet "Laodicean" is a common proclivity within Splinterland. It is based on the widespread but uncertain idea that the Letters to the Churches in Revelation represent the chronological development of the church throughout time – a kind of Chronological Theory. To my knowledge there is no Biblical exegesis for this viewpoint. Some Christians hold this viewpoint based on matching the church descriptions to actual historical events in Christian history. Armstrongists hold this viewpoint based on matching the church descriptions to Armstrongist history. So, two very different histories are seen to be described in the Letters to the Churches. I do not think historical coincidence can be the arbiter in evaluating the Chronological Theory.
It seems unchallengeable that Revelation itself characterizes the Letters as actual messages to real churches that were all contemporaneous and in existence before 70 AD. For all others, who do not fall within this time slice, the admonition is, “Whoever has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assemblies. (Hart).” That is, we are to take wisdom, not from identifying ourselves with a particular First Century church, but by broadly considering all the messages given to all the churches.
Moving from analysis to practice, there are good reasons why the Armstrongists churches cannot be categorized as fitting the Philadelphian description. The two foremost are:
1. The WCG was not bound together by love but by hierarchy. My expectation is that Splinterland suffers from this same sociology.
2. The Splinter Groups all claim to be Philadelphian yet conduct internecine war on each other – accusing one another of being Laodicean. A direct violation of the idea of “brotherly love.” Even in the Armstrongist viewpoint, the Laodiceans are brothers to the Philadelphians.
To use the term “Laodicean” as an epithet is to regrettably play on division based on a theory that is not exegeted from scripture but supported by a putative historicity that has vested political motivations. The term "Laodicean" should not be bandied about like it is a euphemism for a curse word.

The western media and/or the COGs only care about Hawaii's fires because it's "America" or is it really America? I guess the Polynesian island is Manasseh too huh?? If this were in some other part of the world (which it is), they wouldn't care to tie it into their fear-mongering religion.
As we read certain types of books, or view television shows or motion picture films, it is common for most of us to gain insights into ourselves and perhaps others. We see a little of ourselves, recognizing some of our own traits and experiences in one or more of the characters. And, it is often educational, and healthy.
One problem with Armstrongism, and the movement's relationship with the Bible is the Carly Simon thing: "You're so vain that you probably think this song is about you!"
The leading ministers, or those aspiring to be ministers, somehow begin to see themselves as being Elijah, or Moses, Gideon, Joshua, or generically as a prophet or apostle, always picking characters which flatter themselves. Now it is one thing to admire and imitate certain good examples, but these people literally believe that God foresaw them, personally, and knew them from the foundations of the earth, and wrote them into the Bible. They also do this with groups! The first century Jewish Christians would recognize them as being brethren because Armstrongites have the mentality, beliefs, attitudes, and practices nailed! They are identical to the first century Jewish Christians. A trip back in time would be just like modern day church members from New York visiting the church in Chicago or Los Angeles! Moreover, they alone are the Philadelphians! John of Patmos was writing in advance about them. And the conditions in the books of Daniel and Revelation, they identify as our times today! This is the end, which makes members just as special as the first century Christians who were alive during the most special time of all history, the lifespan of Jesus Christ.
There are signs that most of us here see and recognize, facts which demonstrate that this type of backwards and forwards projection is wrong or inaccurate, but the church members are deluded to believe that with occasional use of a good shoehorn they can make the shoe fit. They believe that they are the fulfillment of prophecy, and over decades have tweaked and modified to explain why these prophecies never get around to happening. The big thing used to be "warning the world", and their huge media resources were very capable of exactly that. Some of that media machine actually gave me my career. But, it's all gone now, and GTA and HWA are not even in the public's "whatever happened to?" category. They are forgotten. If the end were becoming closer, theoretically, God would be pumping up the power of his messengers, and not making it so that the only ones who even knew of them were the participants in a dissident internet blog!!!
Literally believing that the Bible was written not for you, but actually about you, is a delusion and a disease. It is a blinding misapplication of all that is good! It is based on ego and elitism. You alone have the truth. You are special because you are white and speak English, so you are part of the tribes of Manasseh and Ephraim. You are special because you were personally taught by an apostle named Herbert W. Armstrong. You are special because you have heeded the message of that apostle and know that God is going to punish your country for forgetting a heritage which they never knew about and can't be proven. This is all a byproduct of believing that the Bible was about you, and not just an edifying book for you, writing of examples that demonstrate the best and worst propensities of human existence. This is the way of all fanatics, or obsessive-compulsives. It never ends well, because it is a progressive disease. If you don't realize that from watching all the ACOGs, you haven't been paying attention!
Exactly 9:29
“ Literally believing that the Bible was written not for you, but actually about you, is a delusion and a disease”
Their core belief system is that they were the ones who came out of Egypt. Thousands of years have passed and they boast about something that one cannot apply to their daily life in our current world. At least Paul was humble enough to mention if I am to boast it’s boasting on knowing Christ. These COGs boast about being the ones that left out of Egypt and a throne going to Ireland.
That the bible is written about you implies time travel. Time travel and parallel universes makes for great science fiction, but it cannot exist in this created universe. Not with the present laws of physics and chemistry.
Speaking of time machines, I had checked a limited TV series out from the library last weekend. This one is called "The Plot Against America", and it is a piece of "what if?" history reenactment. In the series, Charles Lindbergh rises to power and is elected president of the United States in 1940 instead of Franklin Roosevelt. Lindbergh is elected based on his promises of keeping the USA out of the war in Europe. He is racist and xenophobic, and allies himself with Adolf Hitler. Known racist Henry Ford is his Vice President. This is all seen and experienced through the eyes of a Jewish family, the Levins, of Newark, New Jersey as punitive measures are enacted upon Jews. Lindbergh even succeeds in getting a popular Rabbi to back him in his policies and to tell the Jewish people that this is good for them. All manner of horrible things begin to unfold. I still have a great sense of personal identity with the Jews left over from my years in the old school WCG, and therefore I had a profound sense of "that's me and my family that they are doing these things to!" as I watched. It was not apocalyptic in the Armstrong sense, but the very thought that if events occurred in certain ways it could happen today was terrifying.
I would not recommend this for everyone. Watch it only if you have considerable deep inner strength. It is disturbing.
