Why is it that so many ministers and particularly church leaders think they are elevated to almost adoration status, and when the sheeple don't slobber up to them, they get their royal knickers all tied up in a knot?

This is something I have wanted to write about but haven’t until now.
Years ago when I and my sister were in our early 20’s, my sister used to write letters to Gerald Flurry like many people did. She would hear a message and write and thank him for the sermon, etc. She worked in the PCG office at the time.
One time Gerald Flurry visited our country during PYC [Philadelphia Youth Camp]. We were all told not to overwhelm the “prophet” when he came here and let everyone have an opportunity to speak to him. Well, there were no big line ups of people waiting to talk to him for fear they would be taking up his time. This included me and my sister and many others. However, Gerald flurry must have felt he had a connection with my sister, or something weird. So he told the regional director at the time that he was not happy she didn’t even come and say hello to him and he demanded an apology letter. So she, like a naughty child, had to write an apology letter to him. That should have rung alarm bells back then. My whole family thought it was weird but brushed it aside. Crazy looking back.
GF also told my father, who was a minister at the time, “In the real world, you and I would never be friends.” My dad was gutted. This is a man of God over His people? Doubtful. Years of evidence shows GF is all about himself.

Being put out of a church means being stripped of often long time friends. It's a type of extortion. Which is why it's advisable to have friends outside the church.
What's laughable is people actually think God would choose a person like Gerald Flurry in the first place to warn the world about a coming nuclear apocalypse.
FRENEMIES
The worst thing is all the FRENEMIES (people who pretend to be your friends but who are actually your enemies) inside the so-called Churches of God (COGs).
If true, this puts a completely new twist on the COG hymn, "Suffer the Children."
"Suffer the little children to come unto me..." (Mark 10:14)

He was right. The writer's father was getting by in the real world. If Gerry had to function in the real world, he would probably be in a mental hospital or a drunk tank, having only other addicts and lunatics as his friends. Unfortunately, since the writer's father and Gerry were both addicted to Herb, they had something in common for a friendship of a sort.

Oh, please ensure you are not wearing lipstick at said time, and that goes for the men also.
It’s what you realise when you leave. The only thing you have in common is crazy beliefs and fake friends brainwashed the same way you were. Then you leave and make friends that like you for you and not because you are in the same dreamlike bubble everyone lives in. Real friends don’t ignore you because you don’t worship the same man they do.

You can certainly meet a lot of perverts in the so-called COGs that you would not have met out in the world. The so-called COGs provide a service to the perverts and predators by matching them up with victims that they would not otherwise have easy access to. Full support services for the perverts and predators are provided by the so-called COGs.

Many people presumably prayed and yet ended up in all sorts of different WCG splinter groups, including Flurry's PCG and Pack's RCG. Perhaps their prayers were not fervent enough.
Dave Pack would love an apology letter from his sister. She’s been a thorn in his flesh his whole life. She has nothing to do with him now.
The Advertisement Versus Reality
People are told that they will meet true Christians with the Holy Spirit in the so-called COGs, and the people who believe this naturally assume that they will make good friends for life.
The people then learn the long, hard, expensive way that too many of those they meet in the so-called COGs actually have evil, lying, slandering, malicious spirits and will be bad enemies for life.

People go to church to worship God 10:07. People do not get told nor believe they necessarily will make friends for life there.
You only have to look at the lives of Bible people to know that.
It always struck me how some of the self appointed apostles like Flurry and HWA seemed as about the polar opposite from Christ and the Biblical prophets as you could possible imagine. They demonstrate destestable behaviors and characteristics and have only confirmed themselves as liars and TOTAL FRAUDS.
Except Flurry does not have superpowers, but I bet he would like to.
