It is hard to believe that we still have some saying that he is now doing God's work in prison, and what a wonderful opportunity he has. No concern for Amy at all.

In ACOG culture, life is cheap. The ministers would not be mistreating members otherwise. Unfortunately murder with the tongue is not uncommon, so literal murder is unsurprising.

Very profound and true comment Anon 2:00.

I cannot understand when Amy was receiving strange emails they did not suspect her husband straight away. He was strange years before he went and killed her.

Yeah. Conditional love. It's like the spooks in the intelligence community. All are expendible. I think the entire membership of the Armstrong COGs realize that they are expendible and redundant. Mere chattel.

I actually had a member threaten my life at the feast one time. Talk about brotherly love. Not joking either.

Still an incredibly sad story. This one should make every minister in the larger COG organizations shudder. There is such a pervasive culture of unquestioned righteousness among the ministry especially. Any issue that arises involving a minister and a lay person, the assumption is always that the lay person is in the wrong. This has led to horrific problems and abuse in the churches. Everything from marriage scandal to predatory behavior involving children is tolerated , as long as a minister, or one of his friends is involved. Years ago I was told by a ministers wife that the biggest problem among the ministerial set was porn. She just said it with a shrug, like nothing could be done about it and wives just accepted it. Disgusting. The ministry in general really should be spending much more time in reflection of their own sins and should be openly repenting.

The illusion of the Ministry being holy, set apart of a higher moral and ethical standard than church membership was shattered by the exposure of Garner Ted moral faillings and double hypocritical life and the apostacy and deceit of doctrine by Joseph W Tkach. Both happened around the exact same time, 1995/96.
Both moral and theological prevelance was shattered. It was shattered once and for all. There can be no going back to unaccountable trust. They are not holy as God is Holy. Alot of them have no morals or even connection to God. Trust and hope on God not humans.

Never leave children unattended at Church nor Festivals.
Never be alone with Ministry. Never let them control your personnel life. Becareful what you tell ministry about your life.

11:23 Well Hosea 4:9 is apt in this regard: “And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.”

It appears that Steve Allwine was guilty, far too much evidence, despite his claims that he was set up. His IT skills and knowledge indicate that he did indeed try to hire a hitman, but his naivety meant that he was scammed.
We do not know why he killed Amy, but it could be because he had affairs and had no loyalty to her.

Even if he no longer loved her, for the sake of his son, he should have kept the family together.

We have to wonder what the top ministers teach the lower ministers, and what led to Allwine's sins.

It also shows that no minister can be trusted. Just look at the scandals regarding Catholic priests. The ACOG ministers should be better behaved, but my experiences of them indicate that they are still carnal despite their pretence of being holier than anyone else.

Steve Allwine nearly badly injured a member of my family at a Feast site, years before he murdered his own wife. It was only 'nearly' because another person grabbed my family member and jumped out of Allwines way in time, I'd rarther not go into details.

Clearly he has an gross lack of consideration for saftey and empathy of others well being.

The should be less on him and his devious crime and more on how classy, friendly and genuine Amy was.

Where do these people come from? I don't remember people in the church killing each other before the splinter era.
