Jon Brisby And Real Christians

AI COG has knocked it out of the park, again!

Brisby is starting to sound like Bob Thiel!

In this episode, we analyze a sermon by Jon Brisby, minister of the Church of God, the Eternal, who labels mainstream charities as corrupt businesses while enforcing a mandatory 21.4% "triple tithe" on followers' gross income. Brisby specifically targets impoverished Kenyan congregations, utilizing threats of divine curses and promises of "invisible protection" to extract wealth. He redefines spiritual "fruits" as strict legalistic obedience to Sabbath and marriage laws rather than moral character. Ultimately, our analysis highlights a high-control system that rejects material charity, demanding that money flow exclusively upward to leadership.

Well now, here's another guy that wouldn't it be so nice if he'd just go away!

Any system based on the words of Jesus will be "legalistic" because he taught people to follow the law and he kept his Father's commandments. That is why most Churches today prefer the religion of Paul to that of Jesus.

You forgot the most important element! The other half of the gospel which HWA didn't teach! Jesus lived His entire human life under the Old Covenant. As one of the parties to the Old Covenant, He died! God died! Ending the Old Covenant, and paying for man's past, present, and future sins. Yours! He was resurrected, ushering in the New, better Covenant, under which Paul lived and taught. Jesus saves. He said so. HWA taught that others changed the gospel, that they made it about Jesus. "Others" did not! Jesus did that himself!

Please educate us as to what are Jesus's commandments? If you propose to go to Matthew 5 show how we can be keeping the law as Jesus’ standard here is intentionally beyond human ability. What then becomes the means to comply with the requirements?

Because you have chosen to create a religion of Paul as distinct to Jesus - who Himself recruited Paul as an apostle - can you explain why a significant portion of the NT ought now be rejected according to your theory?
I am only curious of these matters given the anti Pauline sentiment.

Not surprising, however, as I have noted for a long time now how Armstrongites are either not friends of Paul and therefore choose to misquote him, or not quote him at all.

The letters, writings and life of Apostle Paul have been a main study of the Churches of God ever since the Radio Church of God began in 1930's.

There you go with your insults again.

Oh, Buttercup...truth hurts, doesn't?

You deserve them, 1:40! You earn them well via your lying disinformation campaign. Some of the critiques Jesus laid on the Pharisees seem quite insulting. So, be careful not to mislable Christ-like behavior. You probably deserve even more of a ration than you are receiving here, and you know it!!!

When one reads the PT in the early days there be little study of Paul, It was largely all fake prophecies or stating silly and unusual things. Further, when Paul is studies it is to work hard to make him into a version of Armstrong which he was not. It is not correct to say the Armstrong churches properly studied and understood Paul starting from the 1930's/
