News Flash: The Kingdom Will NOT Come on Atonement
David C. Pack of The Restored Church of God dissolved nine weeks of preaching by announcing that it is impossible for the Kingdom of God to arrive on the Day of Atonement. The long, slow crawl that began on July 11, 2026, with “The Greatest Untold Story! (Part 640),” just got longer and slower.
It is time once again for everyone in RCG who still bothers to take notes to tear out all their pages from Parts 640, 641, 642, 643, 644, 645, 646, 647, and 648. You may now file them into the usual pile.
The Kingdom of God Will NOT Arrive on Atonement.
Not This Year. Not Any Year.
During "The Greatest Untold Story! (Part 649)" given on September 12, 2026, the Pastor General admitted that "no man knows the day and the hour" (again) but still tried to persuade members that his new theory can hold water: The Kingdom of God will arrive a few days before or after the Day of Atonement...or maybe a few days before or after the Feast of Tabernacles.
Considering that Atonement begins tonight at sunset, does anyone want to take bets on whether this will pan out for him?

David C. Pack insisted on clinging to his legitimacy by spending 110 minutes dragging the brethren of The Restored Church of God through a series of vague possibilities. None of which will prove to be correct.
The Pastor General is painfully unaware of how embarrassing he is when he makes ridiculous comments in front of the entire church. He was very proud of himself for not setting a date even though he admitted he did not know.
If he knew, he would have said it.
At the very end of Part 649, Dave admitted to something that he should have been ashamed of.

Yet again, Dave Pack proves that he is a false prophet: "when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him." -- Deuteronomy 18:22
I continue to believe that this craziness is a symptom of Armstrongism as it affects the aging COG membership who based their entire lives on the prophecies of Herbert W. Armstrong. It was a life of sacrifice, and now they need fulfillment, they require validation before they die. This appears to be affecting what used to be called "second generation Christians" more profoundly than it had their parents or even grandparents at this point.
In a sense, it now seems that there are several prominent scenarios under which life as we know it could radically change. Some involve the very methodology with which war is conducted, while others are rooted in climate change, or even run-away Artificial Intelligence. Authoritarian government is on the rise around the globe, replete with the sacrifice of science upon the altar of agenda. We see no temple being built in Jerusalem, no increase in the influence of the Catholic Church, and no beast power based on the classic Armstrongism superstar nation of Germany. There are similarities to the Armstrong model. Diseases such as the measles have literally been executive ordered back into existence by stupid politicians with worms in their brains. The economy is in grave danger as a result of both major political parties' lack of willingness to pay down the national debt. Who even knows what may transpire in the November mid-term elections? Martial law??? The ACOGs are moribund messengers, and anyway, major events are in no way unfolding as forecast by the Armstrong prophecy outline even if they still had their power.
Is it fun, watching people we once knew going crazy? Of course not! What we see comes from a position of sheer angst! It must be terrifying for them because they are now so obviously in uncharted waters, left high and dry through false prophecy. We do not get to escape the terror either, because it appears that the ride is positioned to become very bumpy. There is no joy in bad things happening just because they are different and will finally disprove Armstrongism. The whole idea of leaving that foul organization was to improve our lives, living life normally, and happily. Now it appears that the piper needs paying anyway.
We'll see what happens. Maybe something will surprise us, averting worst case scenario. I certainly hope so. Perhaps AI will have a role in bringing solutions as opposed to the massive problems some envision. At any rate, it's so nice that HWA's prophecies did not rob those of us who never thought we'd reach 30 of good and productive lives. What a horrible cloud that was under which to grow up! Regardless of what may happen in the near future, it sure beats the ol' German meat hooks all to hell!
So aren't the members of this pseudo-church sick and tired of hearing the same old nonsense ? When are they going to wake up ?!
I think for the bulk of them....the whole idea of leaving never crosses their mind and would be insidious and scary to suggest. This is an older group of people at RCG and PCG especially. Im reminded of the movie Shawshank Redemption with the character Brooks. Imprisoned for over 50 years when finally FORCED to leave and assimilate into normal society he took his life in a very poignant scene. But on some understandable level we all understood that in the movie. Freedom.... in his case "being free in the world"...was a worse hell for an elderly Brooks then the prison where he had his little routine and status as the librarian. It was a powerful moment when he literally hung himself after forced to be a free man not needing permission to go or do or be or think outside the box of Shawshank prison.
But I think your point is dead on. These people that are left fear a future without being told what to believe...how to act....where to go. If we cornered any one of them it would be far and few between that wouldnt assume that it was Satan himself that had sent us to tempt them. Its habit, routine, and their belief in the government of God that keeps them bound there.
It's manna to them, David! Keeping the faith once delivered. Being steadfast is their claim upon the crown awaiting them!
Pack's followers are most probably stuck financially with him, they've most probably invested entire life savings ect.. or are as deluded as he is.
