Dave Pack and Gomosexuals

Worldly things will carry over into the kingdom.  How does an RCG member deal with heroin addicts, smokers and gomosexuals?  Gomosexuals?
But you have all kinds of problems.…He’s been an addict…What about gluttons? Porn addicts? Smokers? Sex perverts? What are you going to do with whole LGBTQ crowd? Lesbians…They spell…h with a g…homosexual. Strangely, they spell “gomosexual,” like “gay.” I don’t know how they get “gay, maybe it’s…I’m kidding…The LHBTQ…I will not call them “gay,” they lead miserablelives…bisexual and transsexual people.

What do you mean "do something about"? Don't Christians and the Bible in which they believe teach that all people will receive healing? It appears as if Dave wants to punish rather than to restore or heal.

You heal, Dave! It's a very useful tool, and part of the restitution of all things. And it ain't just the people you mentioned who are going to need healing! We all have aspects to our psyches that are less than optimum. As an example, some have outrageous ego, and are control freaks who need to dominate and exploit others. Wouldn't it be nice if someone like that could be healed?

So that Pack doesn't hurt anybody and take anybody with him when he self-destructs, here's an idea. Someone close to Pack needs to convince him that the temptation of Christ was an antitype of Satan's current temptation of Dave, but that where Christ did not leap from the height and trust angels to catch Him, Dave's responsibility as a not-yet-God being is to jump and trust the angels.

For several days now, all I see is one item after another about Dave Pack. What's going on? Has he suddenly stolen the spotlight from all the other COG leaders? To my knowledge, I never laid eyes on the guy and consider that no loss. Of course, I was out by '75. That's really when things started to fall apart. Some of us had the presence of mind to sit back and analyze exactly what we'd gotten ourselves into. We didn't like the obvious answers.

Dave considered himself as God's sole representative on the earth, No man or church has ever been as miraculous and astounding as he is or the restored Church of God is. Since the creation of man no human church leader has ever understood the bible as Dave has. No one has ever written more books, had the best web site ever created on the internet, has healed as many people as he has, cast out as many demons as he has, or who imagines himself trained at the feet of Herbert Armstrong. Nothing is true coming from the mouth of this blowhard.

He has ripped apart countless families due to his vile role of government in his cult. He has predicted the imminent deaths of three COG leaders for the last 4 years now. He has prophesied that tens of thousands of COG members would jump ship to join the most amazing work of God ever to exist. No ministers have been struck down by his god and no one has joined from the splinter groups. Those few the have are quickly drummed out or leave on their own. Dave has been releasing, in print form, the most astounding series of sermons ever preached. No one has ever understood the Bible until this point in time. His entire goal is to get those thousands of church members to join him on the dark side.

We are witnessing first hand the mental break down of a narcissistic megalomaniac that puts Gerald Flurry to shame. Pack has the potential to lead people into mass casualties.

I wrote this on Facebook this morning and want to share it:

Nothing is more heady than the belief that you alone, among all mankind have been gifted with special knowledge that enables you to predict the future with unerring accuracy. My old cult and the plethora of its offshoots was and is filled with them.
Narcissistic leaders pour over the rantings of ancient madmen with the unshakeable assurance that they had a mysterious direct line to a "god" that knew the past present and future because "he" somehow controlled it all. They even assign themselves the names of those ancient wild-eyed mental cases, becoming themselves wild-eyed and absolutely certain they have the right and the power to proclaim what is for sure going to happen.
None of them have been right even once, but that doesn't faze them and deluded followers continue to hang on their every word. It's amusing, but also terribly sad. Fortunes and financial well-being have been squandered. Families go without necessities and medical care just so they can support "the work."
I feel so fortunate to have finally seen through this farce over forty years ago now. If I hadn't, I'd be totally destitute today and probably already dead due to neglecting my own well-being and rejecting medical science. I can smile and not exhibit a mouth filled with mostly decayed and missing teeth. I remember enduring horrible toothaches that I killed by holding vodka in my mouth until it blistered the inside of my cheeks, all because I couldn't afford to go to the dentist. But, that didn't stop my determination at that deceived time to not incur divine wrath by "robbing" god.
Oh, what fools we humans can be!

Allen C. Dexter

Gerald Bronkar said...

Allen, I appreciate your comment. We humans seem to be born or are taught very young to need a strong connection to a higher power in addition to our parents. Of course, religious leaders use that "need" and tell us that it was placed in us by God. It is not easy to escape from the religion we are born into.
I am fascinated by the concept of prayer. We are told that if we have not, it is because we did not ask, yet when we ask, and our prayer goes unanswered, we are told God is not to blame. We lack faith or have the wrong attitude. God is never at fault, and his promise is real. In my view, either he isn't there or doesn't care.
If we look at the world the way is really is, it is not easy to find the hand of God. It is unfortunate that most people stuck in a cult are unable to develop a worldview any larger than the web of deception they have woven for themselves, and cult leaders continue to survive.
Improvement can come with freedom of thought. As we have heard many times, "freedom is not free", it requires sacrifice, and the will to be independent. Many are afraid of the responsibility of independence.

one item after another about Dave Pack

This is new material. The other COGs churn along, but their material follows variations on a theme of recycling. Dave is venturing beyond the fringe.

Anonymous said...

Dexter, the reason people can't afford a dentist is that they got poor grades in school, and left at the earliest age. They end up poor, then blame God for not being able to afford medical treatment.
Folks, teach your children to work hard at school and to continue their their schooling.
Otherwise they will end up like Dexter or worse still, a minister.

Anonymous said...

Gerald, it is certainly true that people are afraid of the responsibility of independence. The ministers in the slivers even discourage it for the sake of their power lust. But the bible commands independence with the "prove all things' and similar commands. It is inherent in the parable of the talents.
As for the hand of God, half of Europe, including half of (hard working) Germany was given to the commies after WW 2 to disprove communism. How can you miss something like this?

Worked as mail answerer for ole Herb and rose to captain of a team but was basically paid just enough to barely get by because of a personnel department staffed by lesser educated in many cases people than myself who were paid much more than I was to determine that my job wasn't all that skilled and important, even though it was touted to be "ministerial." I think you need to work on you "snidity!"

Allen C. Dexter

Byker Bob said...

12:54, well aren't you the simpleton! There are many reasons, and many sets of circumstances which could cause people not to be able to afford a dentist. Most of them have nothing to do with grades in school, or how diligently one has applied himself. Why didn't you ask Al what had caused this situation in his life? If I had to guess, I'd bet that the reason was Armstrongism. In fact, probably many of Dave Pack's followers can't afford dental work right now. Leaving groups like that isn't falling away. It's running from false prophets and charlatans!

Well he answered that question himself in his former sermon in which he asked people to stop him if he went off track.
You see he has suspicions that he was way off track, losing it so to speak.
Now it has gone so far he is spiraling out of control.
Power has made him mad. He will of course, get worse.
They all will. Thiel, Flurry and the rest too.

Listen to a documentary about Scientology and disconnecting families and spying and reporting on one another there. You can substitute Church of God for Scientology.

The apostles talked about Jesus Christ, his life and death and resurrection and the hope that we have because of that.
The Church of God, so-called, talks about destruction, the end and trouble. Never a word about the good news of Jesus Christ which is the gift of eternal life because of a personal relationship with God.

I think that constant message produces insanity and destroys hope.

Dexter, Ambassador College is a seminary. It's debatable whether that's a 'real' education. An AC graduate in my former congratulation sold stuff at flea markets during week ends. I suspect he lived in his parents basement. People with a real education like engineering, accounting or architecture, don't have stands at flea markets, and can afford medical treatment. As some have pointed out here, if ministers were to lose their jobs, they would only be able to get work as window cleaners.
Minister put themselves on pedestals, but I suspect that they are secretly envious of members with real jobs and a real education,

Amusing. So, I've "fallen away." The truth is that I came to my senses and walked away. All religions condemn and denigrate anyone who does that. It's their greatest fear because it affects their power and income. So, they make threats and that can easily escalate into violence. Thankfully, up to now at least, all that can usually entail in this country is "shunning," and I experienced that, but it didn't bring any terror to me. I just went out and built a new life with new friends, another wife, etc. The imaginary judge sitting "up there" didn't frighten me a bit. I built my own business in carpet cleaning and installation, etc., then started a wedding ceremonies business and for a while pulled in around $100,000 every year. I'd still be working that trade if I were physically able to do so. I still do the ceremonies, but not many are available up here in the north country. Because of my training in Spanish, I can do Spanish and bi-lingual. Chavenistic Herman Hoeh never forgave me for not choosing German because of my anglo-German ancestry. At least, I made a few good decisions from time to time, including getting to hell out of there and staying out.

Anon, Nov. 28, 6:21 PM,
So you claim that Eastern Europe fell to the Communists because God wanted to prove that Communism didn't work? Yes, I missed that one. Was he on vacation when 6,000 Jews (his chosen people) died at the hand of the Nazis? It is easy to cherry-pick history to "prove" a religious argument. Kind of like cherry-picking verses from the bible to prove a cherished belief.

Your mind could not be opened with the "jaws-of-life". It must feel splendid to have all the answers, and feel you are pleasing your god. Congratulations! It sounds boring to me.

By the way, my escape from religion did not involve falling of any sort. I grew away, learned away, rose away, jumped away, soared away or maybe flew away. There was no falling involved. I am still moving away from religion and dogmatism. It is a learning process. I continue to look for answers concerning life and our universe. It is inspiring and humbling. What an amazing time to be alive and learning with an open mind!

For all we know, with Dave Pack, not only can't the people following him afford dentistry, it seems likely, given his past behavior that all of you people out there with GOLD fillings, need to have them yanked right away, sold for the gold and send the money to Wadsworth!

At this point of extreme behavior, it's not beyond imagination and just maybe not beyond impossibility.

[Oooh! I hope I didn't give him any ideas!]

BB there are many people who have rejected Armstrongism, but are devout Christians. The two are not one and the same. God does not condemn people who walk away from a abusive physical church. But condemnation on those who turn their backs on God and His way. This is inexcusable. God is a good God who loves and helps people. The lake of fire awaits those who wilfully reject this God.
The 'freedom' that these God rejectors talk about, is the 'peace' of school children who stop doing their home work. Look how that works out long term.

I know a lady in RCG who slept in her car for awhile because she was sending her rent money to RCG. Her minister congratulated her for a "wonderful attitude of service." How about real counsel, like pay your rent first, then any extra can get sent in. Of course, tithes come first, then rent, then extra sent to HQ.

It is easy for outsiders to make jokes about David Pack yelling and spitting at his followers to:

0. Send in all the regularly required tithes and offerings and building fund donations.

1. Do continual fund-raising for him.

2. Sell or remortgage their houses and send him the money.

3. Send in their retirement plans.

4. Send in their savings accounts.

5. Send in their possession or sell them and send in the cash.

6. Borrow money from their banks and on their credit cards to send in to him,

7. Sleep in their cars rather than paying rent so they can send in more money,

8. Have gold fillings pulled out and sent in.

9. Sell their extra blood, kidneys, and lungs to raise money to send in.

10. Etc.

However, it will not be so funny for the RCG members who actually do these things. Stop giving Dave more bad ideas. Do you really want to come up with what you think is just a sick joke, but then find out that people in the RCG are actually doing it? Let his Prince Money Seminar guy from Nigeria do the brainstorming for him.

The peace being preached by atheists here, is the peace of floating downstream with the rest of society, rather than fighting the good Christian fight of fighting upstream.
In all popcorn action movies (James Bond, Luke Skywalker, Captain America etc), the hero is fighting and struggling against the forces of evil. This is what movie goers admire and respect. Those who defect to the dark side are looked down upon.

That is a question you need to ask Herbert Armstrong. He justified his perversions, as did his son. As did certain evangelists, pastors and local elders. The church leadership was very good at justifying things they wanted to do but members were not allowed to do.

Anon 6:35

Maybe people in RCG should use your list as a starting point, and start to think for themselves, and leave Pack. I can say this because I was a member, and at one point would have done all those things on that list. Thankfully, Pack started to get so far off track that it was not hard to see the "fruits."

When he started changing every doctrine, and calling himself "that Prophet", it was time to do as the Bereans did. Thankfully, the Bible tells us how to recognize false leaders. I think those that still follow him are so far lost into this, or have given so much, or so old to not want to have to admit being wrong and change organizations, that they are stuck. But these people are the ones choosing to stay. Sometimes you have to think for yourself, even God expects us to do this.

We have to critically think. If you are going to supposedly rule cities with a rod of iron. Yet cannot even think for yourself, or manage your own life, without running to a minister to have him make decisions for you. C'mon I know that we are always s told that we are weak and foolish, and we are. However, we must learn and grow. If you cannot make your own decisions and cannot spot a money grabber like Pack. (Even his own family, daughter and Evangelist son-in-law, see thru him.) How do you expect to rule cities?

People in RCG are trained not to think. If they could think for themselves, they would not be there. But, of course, you will never get them to see this. They see you (us who left) as deceived and in the "bonds of Satan." Salvation only comes thru RCG, and Pack tells them almost every week in sermons. (In between the parts where he is changing everything ever taught by HWA, and yet still claiming that HWA was a great man, and "Moses.")

Time to wake up people! Open your eyes. Check your Bibles to "see if it was so."

Anonymous said...

In one message Pack said that it would be a sin to "do as the Bereans did." That should be your first clue to check your own Bibles to "see if was so." Just because Pack says so, does not make it so!

David C. Pack started his Restored Church by promising to restore everything that Herbert W. Armstrong had taught at the time of HWA's death in January 1986. David Pack even wrote in his 330-page book called The Government of God—Understanding Offices and Duties that, “I have been either put on trial, fired or demoted a total of 12 times solely on issues of doctrine and principles of truth.” David Pack was terminated as a minister in the Worldwide Church of God in March of 1993 by the Tkaches. DCP then went with Roderick Meredith's Global Church splinter group but got terminated from that church too. So, David Pack started his own Restored Church in May 1999. DCP wrote many books and booklets to prove that he was serious about standing up for the truth. DCP appeared to be very sincere and convincing. DCP's complete inability ever to get along with anyone at all was attributed to constant attacks on him by Satan. The high rate of staff turnover at RCG headquarters was blamed on the former employees all being “bums.”

Now, however, DCP has clearly gone crazy claiming all sorts of Biblical titles for himself (such as apostle, Joshua the High Priest, Elijah the Prophet, That Prophet), coming up with wrong prophetic guesses (such as his August 31, 2013 one) that keep on failing even when rescheduled, making truly massive doctrinal changes (such as the idea that DCP, rather than HWA, is the one who restores all things and sets doctrines), totally garbling all former prophetic understanding and then re-garbling it as he garbles on (such as his “First Dominion” garble), and demanding that his followers send him virtually everything they have--“or no salvation if you don't” (and call it “common”).

Years ago, DCP was already yelling at his followers that if they did not like something he was doing, to “Get out!” RCG members should have disliked it, and they should have got out. This brings up that extremely serious problem that one never really knows for sure what all ideas one of these splinter group leaders will come up with in the future, even when he tells you what he supposedly believes at the start. If you do not quickly go along with all the latest nonsense that he starts to spew, then you get accused of failing to grow, and told that you need to be pruned off. Several hundred people who had previously been deceived and robbed by Gerald Flurry and his Philadelphia Church, and who had thought that maybe the Restored Church was the answer, began to notice David Pack playing the same tricks that Gerald Flurry had played on them. One by one, they all left the RCG too.

David Pack deceived his followers, robbed them, and then betrayed them with massive doctrinal changes away from what HWA had taught. People who initially may have been sincere, and decent, and supportive of truth, are now in an extremely bad situation in the RCG. If they were really so rock-solid in their beliefs, then why are they now going along with all of DCP's massive doctrinal changes? If they do not go along with all of DCP's crazy doctrinal changes, they get kicked out of the RCG while everything they donated stays behind. If they stay just because they are now ashamed to admit that they were wrong about DCP and his RCG, then they lack true integrity and are not as good as they thought they were. If they stay because they handed over everything they had and assume that they have nothing left to lose, then they are mistaken. If they stay because they want to be with other mindless, deluded people, then their choice of company is very poor. There simply is no possible way to get around the fact that the RCG is a complete disaster.

Falling for a satanic imposter cult (like the RCG) led by a raging false prophet (like DCP) on the so-called COG scene can be one of the worst disasters on earth.

The quote from Proverbs 19:2-3 (NIV) is from the Bible. It is extremely important that you think about it seriously because this is exactly what is happening to the RCG members. I hope that sincere and decent people who went with the RCG to try to hold onto Biblical truth can overcome this satanic fraud rather than be totally discouraged and destroyed by it.

10.44 AM you quoted the bible without doing the heavy lifting by telling us how it applies to RCG members. In abusive cults, people are deceived and have their sense of normalcy twisted by ongoing brainwashing. There are many sites on abusive cults on the internet. I suggest that you read some of these articles eg, the writings of the late Margaret Singer. According to cult deprogrammers, great diplomacy needs to be exercised when dealing with victims, since programmed mental barriers are raised when their beliefs are attacked or mocked. You need to do your homework before addressing RCG members and similar.

I can't even remotely fathom how any of the current purveyors of Armstrongism could have sufficient confidence in the doctrines, the prophecies, and HWA himself to be able to teach it as a way of life to the innocents who would listen to them. This also goes for the people who would attempt to preserve it on their various websites. What works for you is to have a much better sense of personal integrity. That you alone have built and maintained with the feedback that you receive from others. And knowing that you are a non-denominational Christain, I'm sure you would mention that Someone else is involved too. But you don't use that as a defense against negative criticism. It's personal and private, and that is how it should be. And that goes for all of us too. It's funny. The mini-ME's of armstrongism behave just like HRC! BB you keep insisting of creating a package deal that includes Herbie, his doctrines and Prophecies. That package is not a law of nature. Many people accept some of Herbie doctrines and most of his prophecies (minus Herbies mis timing) because they appear in the bible. Many read their bibles and compare Herbies assertions with scripture. As far as I'm concerned, the tribulation is there in black and white in the book of Revelation. Christ mentioned end time events as well, such as 'unless those days where shortened, no flesh would be saved.' That this applied to the Roman era is laughable.
End time prophesies should be respected. They act as a prod for people to qualify for the kingdom. Those who mock these prophesies are doing others a disservice. God will not treat such mis behaviour lightly.

Byker Bob said...

5:52, is it totally lost on you that our shared background here involves Armstrongism, and that everything we discuss is from that perspective? Or would you prefer that we switch the discussion from that perspective, and discuss it from the Jehovah's Witness standpoint, or perhaps that of Dr. David Jeremiah or someone else that the broad majority of posters are not familiar with? This blog is named "Banned by HWA" for a reason.

I personally have never bought into the school of thought that end time prophecy referred to Roman times. That was Corky's baby, and I think Dennis may have mentioned it in times past. I also believe that it is theologically ridiculous that you "qualify" for the Kingdom because you are prompted by the end time events in Revelation. That indeed is a Herbie thing! When God asks you on judgment day why you should be allowed into the Kingdom, the correct answer is not going to be "I kept the sabbath and holy days, paid my tithes, and didn't eat unclean meats" It's going to be "Father, I don't deserve to enter your Kingdom, it's only by the grace of Jesus Christ that I would be worthy."
You can try to qualify if you wish. It's right and good to have personal standards and goals. But it's only what God and Jesus add to the equation that is going to get you where we all want to be. Our "qualifying" is as filthy rags.

BB that this site is called 'Banned by HWA' doesn't mean that Herbie was 100% wrong. You keep insisting on throwing out the baby with the bathwater. Many on this site diligently study their bibles, and end up with a take on Christianity different to your own.
You are not the one 'true dissent church of God,' with those who disagree with you being apostate dissidents.

God has a policy of no more Satan's or demons in His kingdom. He will even eventually destroy Satan and his demons. Your "grace of Jesus Christ" won't cut it, just as it doesn't cut it with the demons.
