Dave Says He Is "Waiting", but on What?

David C Pack says he and the entire church is writing for the day they can all become one Church of God again.  He then goes on to quote several scriptures to back up his "truth."

True  Christians are not "waiting" for some grand reunification of the Churches of God.

True Christians are those that wait on the return of Jesus Christ with great expectations.

Consider Zechariah 11:11. When God breaks his staff called “Grace,” it says: “…the poor of the flock that waited upon Me [God] knew that it was the word of the Lord.” This is a fascinating statement. We all are waiting for reunification. But a unique group called the “poor of the flock”—the prophecy reveals this to be God’s true people—are waiting on God. Waiting for God’s purpose to be fulfilled is nothing new for true Christians. The scriptures are filled with examples of God’s people waiting on Him—for healing, deliverance, guidance, a mate, a child, a job, prophecy to be fulfilled, and ultimately salvation. Notice just a few quotes from the Psalms, as well as one from James and one from Daniel:

Psalm 25:3, 5, 21: “Yes, let none that wait on You be ashamed…Lead me in Your truth, and teach me: for You are the God of my salvation; on You do I wait all the day…Let integrity and uprightness preserve me: for I wait on You.”
Psalm 27:14: “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.”
Psalm 37:7, 9, 34: “Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him…those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth…Wait on the Lord, and keep His way…”
Psalm 52:9: “…I will wait on Your name; for it is good before your saints.”
Psalm 59:9: “Because of His strength will I wait upon You: for God is my defence.”
Psalm 62:5: “My soul, wait you only upon God; for my expectation is from Him.”
Psalm 69:3: “I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.”
Psalm 69:6: “Let not them that wait on You, O Lord God of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek You be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel.”

True Christians are waiting for Dave Pack, Ron Weinland, Bob Thiel, James Malm, EW King, Gerald Flurry, and all these other false teachers who think they are special to go away and to stop deceiving people.

Seriously, if they would like to be of service to God and fellow man, they should retire.

I was just reading that over at the RCG site...such a load of bunk.

He takes scriptures out of context and thinks he's using them to prove his assertions....

I can only conclude that those suckered in by him are very weak in the faith, if they are even in the faith to begin with....

well now Dave can finally come down from his highhorse and wait like the rest of Christianity

Another concordance inspired message, how original Dave!

The false Apostle/prophet reasons in his head: "I think I should look up the word wait, and see which verses containing that word I can make fit my latest agenda!"

Nemesis of Pack

Pack is waiting till after the Feast to blow about his new understanding...He has to make sure he can gather in as much $$$ as possible with all the holy day offerings.

RCG members put your money where your mouth is...and give him nothing!

The RCG work is the work of a vain babbler and not the work of the True God!

He doesn't have to wait!

The prophecies of II Timothy 3 are fulfilled!

"If you stay where you are(rcg members), you have chosen to continue under false leaders in a place of division and deception, one drenched in false doctrine and under a false government, all while witnessing accelerating collapse around you."

Get out rcg members! You are infected. This man is a liar adding to the scriptures and misleading you. Manipulating the word is a big offense deserving to be removed from the book of life. Obey God above, not a man, please!

Pack is a Pack of lies! Pack away those Packism/Armstrongism false doctrines!

Those scriptures have absolutely nothing to do with his prophecy, anyone that thinks so must still be sucking their mother's breast.

All the others should during Sabbath services today, just stand up, shout him down,or his ministers, and then walk out.

If they don't then they are cowards and are not fit for anything that Yahweh can use.

Is time to stand up you members of RCG. Show some character and give these mental twits a piece of your mind, and walk out.

Then once done, go see a lawyer next week and see if you can sue the SOB for fraud and extortion. You can also write your local news papers and warn others of his madness.

We're waiting for our season passes to comfy seats in the coliseum to watch Church Wars.

Oooh! Oooh!

Who's your favorite champion to win? Davey has a strong lead! As a gladiator, Flurry's a little long in the tooth, but hey, maybe Stephan can take over. Richard Rittenbaugh is a strong defender (it helps that he showed up in "Fragmentation" as the defender of Herbert Armstrong!).

If this is done right, it could be more entertaining than Spartacus on Starz, if only the participants could draw some real blood! Just imagine, decapitations, limbs hewed off, hearts pierced, blood splattered everywhere! Davey is really in the spirit of things!

In the end, we don't care who wins.

It's all in playing the game and fighting the battle, because after all that is said and done, they all lose.

It will be spectacular!

Stay tuned right here as the new Fall season starts soon!

We need something now that Dexter is winding down.

The Armstrong Mafia are a bloodthirsty lot.

Here's hoping they put some real skin in the game.

We are to look to the fruits, how one lives his life, but with Pack it is easy, just listen to his words and know he is a liar, manipulator, cunning, full of pride, coveting, and perverting the gospel. He produces no good works. He has a very bad report all around. He is not to be a leader at all, much less an apostle, etc.

I cannot understand how people who read the word can listen to this man week after week. Obviously, the spirit of God above is not in them. We are to come out of the world, be set apart, but this sect is more in the world than any "church" I have attended.

Pack is waiting for the three to die and of coarse he will say "see I told you", but I was off on the timing.

Waiting for what?

What else?

For himself to become grand poobah of AAALLLL COGdom...

...and for the rest of the population to get thrown in the lake of fire!

What else would Dave be waiting for? Like any other good COG "christian" would.

IF the bible is the word of god, THEN it is NOT just written for COG people and nobody else. Although that conceit is what Herbert built his COG empire upon and it has made every COG member, ministurd, apostle, prophet, and poobah feel a lot more important, proud, and special than they ever had any reason to.

AB Comment:
It is difficult to comment on some things that people seem to be interested in. To me prophecy is greatly misunderstood, but to point this out doesn’t help solve the problems it creates. It seems the warnings the biblical prophets were presenting is lost due a poor understanding of why sacred writings were originated and passed from generation to generation.

A simple explanation is the fact that human relationships are an important factor to the survival of humanity and there is an ongoing battle over the type of behavior and character that will produce the perfect life perceived by human beings. This battle involves the development of the secular and sacred entanglements created in the human mind.

In biblical imagery the Lion and the Lamb are shown as lying down together. The Lion represents the secular governmental systems and the Lamb represents the sacred government system. It looks like some who should be Lambs want to be like the Lions.

If we were living in the early Apostolic era, leaders such as Iraenaus and Origen would be writing treatises to debunk and warn people against the heresies of Pack, similar to those written against Arius and Marcion. There would also be an ongoing effort to find and destroy all of his writings, as was done with the writings of heretics such as Simon Magus.

As a child, I was taught that often a fool will be considered to be wise, if he will only keep his mouth shut. The types of leaders that insist on injecting self into their message somehow find restraint to be impossible. If you make your ministry about yourself, you will fail, unless you are God or Jesus.

The entry in which I discussed how the early church fathers might have handled a heretic or false teacher like Dave got me to thinking along the lines of superstitious or gnostic applications of Chrisitianity.

If we read scripture, and understand the obvious meanings of the verses, we really won't get ourselves into too much trouble, because the Bible does contain a well developed system of ethics, and loving conduct. The problem comes in when for whatever reasons, a teacher reads a radical interpretation into the scripture, tells you it is true because he is an apostle seeking to share specially revealed truth with you, and then claims that you are now responsible, accountable, and obligated to suport him in spreading it. If that isn't gnosticism, or salvation from special knowledge, then I don't know what gnosticism is! Hopefully, all but the proverbial frogs would run away at top speed!

Nobody, up until a couple of months ago, would ever have made any connection between David Pack, and the book of Haggai, let alone the belief that Haggai was a prophecy intended to alert believers to the reunification of Armstrongism under Pack in 2013. No legitimate Bible scholar would suggest that, or believe it. It is absolutely preposterous, and delusional. In fact there is a curse at the end of the Book of Revelation related to adding or subtracting to or from the recorded words. Partially because that falls at the end of our Bibles, scholars have debated whether this applies to that book specifically, or to the entire body of canonized scripture. In either case, it would appear that David C. Pack and his ministry are now under a curse. Moreover, by calling down fire on the leaders of the three primary ACOG splinters, he has also done exactly what Jesus had to reprimand the Boanerges brothers for even suggesting.

I have no idea why the Sermon on the Mount and the Beatitudes just never seemed sufficient to those attracted to Armstrongism. Or simple salvation. Paul reports that Jesus told him, "My grace is sufficient unto you." But, I guess there will always be people who covet being the special special ones. People who set themselves up as such and teach it will bring nothing but grief into your life.

If Dave is so bad, as a minister of truth, and what he says is a lie, how does he compare with others who preach the Word? Who then can be trusted? It's easy to find fault. But, to find fault one must also be able to direct someone to a true teaching of sorts. And, what has Dave said that is not revealed in scripture? I'm not talking about an interpretation or opinion. I'm talking about what the Bible actually says.
