COG False Prophets Eating Crow, Once Again. Yummers!

For decades, the Church of God, through Herbert Armstrong, Garner Ted, Rod Meredith, Gerald Waterhouse, Almost-arrested Thiel, James Malm, and others, have been hyperventilating that the United States was suffering from its worst drought ever and would never recover.  Food supplies would soon run out and parents would start eating their children and people fought over food.  Famine would lead to pestilence and death as bible prophecy came alive. Their eyes would almost glaze over in orgasmic delight at such scenarios happening.

As usual, every single one of them has been proven liars once again.  None of us ever need to fear the lairs in charge of various COG's.  Their prophecies lies are constantly failing.

And if you say in your heart, ‘How may we know the word that the Lord has not spoken?’— when a prophet speaks in the name of the Lord, if the word does not come to pass or come true, that is a word that the Lord has not spoken; the prophet has spoken it presumptuously. You need not be afraid of him.
Almost-arrested Bob Thiel has been claiming that the California drought would destroy the state and it would never recover.  It was a sign of the end times, proving once again that the time is near to flee.  Rod Meredith has done the exact same thing.

Notice this story:
US drought levels fall to lowest point in years

Just 5 percent of the United States is experiencing drought conditions, the lowest level of drought here since government scientific agencies began updating the U.S. Drought Monitor on a weekly basis in 2000.
Record rain and snowfall over the winter on the West Coast and heavy spring rains in the Midwest have alleviated some of the worst and longest-lasting drought conditions ever recorded.
The word on the street in Arroyo Grande is that all of the butt-hurt salve has been sold out in all of the stores.

When has Bob Thiel ever told the truth?

Just today the news in Portland declared the end of any drought with over much rain and a huge snow pack in the mountains. I think it has rained here the last 7 months. I suspect the next prophetic fulfilments will have reference to mildew and mold.

They'll never declare the end of "drought" here in Southern California, but it has nothing to do with the depth of the snowpack in the Sierras, the level of the reservoirs, etc. It has to do with the fact that the population is now superceding the point that the normal average quantity of precipitation can support it *ahem* in the manner to which we are accustomed. They keep blaming "drought" for the reason why they don't want us to have lawns anymore, but really it's that now there are just too many people and too many lawns. So now we draw the reservoirs down too fast. Increased volatility in rainfall due to our changing climate doesn't help, but our "drought" has almost nothing to do with the quantity of rainfall anymore.

They are optimistic about what they were programmed to hope for. It's a paradox, but these people have learned to find joy in misery, or in the possibility of future misery, and they are some of the worst flame fanners in the history of mankind. Oooh! A small hotspot! This is going to happen, and then that is going to happen, and it's all going to culminate in Armageddon! You won't be scoffing soon! It's all been confirmed through my biases as I pray! If it isn't in yours, then I feel sorry for you because God is not answering your prayers! (Somehow, this attitude is constantly fed and replenished in spite of perpetual failure.)

Doesn't Bob sell his own naturopathic remedy?

And there is always the catch-all, abnormal weather patterns.

Hold on. We must do the math. It has been preached that the drought in California was a result of the 1979 receivership. Two 19 year time cycles later is the year 2017, when the drought is lifted. Interesting?

Here is the reason God used 2 time cycles on the drought. Just like moses and elijah. And peter and paul. There was HWA and JWT sr. Also California is divided into a north and a south. In 1998 when the first time cycle was complete the LCG was formed.

Ain't human reasoning grand. I didn't even use one scripture and yet it all sounded plausible.

Technically, 19 is not a time cycle but a harmonic (half the wavelength) of 38, which is the 'golden ratio' percentage. It doesn't appear often in timing. What is rampant is Fibonacci numbers. Using 2004 (Obama becoming president) as a starting pointing, going backwards in time using Fibonacci numbers, lines up with major events in American history.
At any rate, this is maths, something outside the training of these church time predictors. 'Don't quit your day job' applies to these amateur mathematicians.
PS going forwards using Fibonacci numbers with 2004 as a starting year, will prove interesting.

"Technically, 19 is not a time cycle but a harmonic (half the wavelength) of 38, which is the 'golden ratio' percentage."

Red herring.

19 is a reference to the Metonic cycle, due to the fact that 19 tropical years is equal, within a few hours, to 235 synodic months.

This alignment is a coincidence, of course, in the same way that it's a coincidence that Polaris happens to be the pole star right now. 5000 years ago, when the pyramids were built, Thuban was the pole star. And in between there was no alignment between earth's axis and any star visible to the naked eye. Tidal acceleration is causing the recession of the moon away from the earth, and it won't be long in astronomical terms before 19 solar cycles won't be particularly close to 235 lunar cycles any longer. The "connection" between Fibonacci numbers and the Metonic cycle is equivalent to the "connection" between the axis of earth's rotation and the position of Polaris in the night sky.

Attaching significance to a pattern you happen to notice is just a case of pareidolia. Alternatively, it's a sharpshooter fallacy. Any timing ratio or interval is not rare, but occurs literally an infinite number of times relative to an undefined set of events. Given a numerological scheme, it's always possible to find events that align, and vice-versa. Given that you shot some arrows at the side of a barn, it's always possible to paint targets around wherever they hit.

This synchronicity of cycles is sometimes amazing, and not a lot of people notice them. About ten years ago, I was working on a machine that had ribbed rollers. There was fluorescent lighting above. At one point, I found that I could synchronize the speed of the machines with the light cycle so that it had a stroboscopic stop action on the ribs of the in-motion feed roller.

Back in the '80s we had used the cycle of a red led as a stroboscopic effect to see the fast moving individual ink jet droplets in stop action as they cycled through a print nozzle to electrically tune the deflection plate so that the drops for a dot matrix print pattern would break free uniformly and form the teardrop shape which could produce a scannable bar code without the satelliting which would have skewed the barcode reading process.

In reality, both of these examples are just a more advanced version of the old automotive timing light that we used to use in tuning up our hotrods before the specs were all regulated by the car's computer.

There are many cycles and relationships in the universe, but attempting to relate them to prophecy is just about as effective as doing math to determine the time of Jesus' return.
