Living Church of God: Australia, Canada, And Microsoft Word Are Attacking God's Only True Church As A Foretaste of Intense Persecution To Come

Gerald Weston had a member update on June 24 and mentioned how Australia rejected a TV sermon by McNair, how Canada has a new law on gender expression and how Microsoft Word is telling them to stop using "mankind" and instead use "humankind." Weston does not see the logic in that and decries it a sign of the end times and further intense persecution of the only true church.  Everyone is out to persecution Living Church of God and Bob Thiel.  Please, everyone, give them a break!  They and they alone are God's most highly favored.  God forbid if they have to treat all people with some human decency regardless of who they are.

This has been a busy week here in Charlotte. Mr. Ames and I recorded portions for an upcoming Tomorrow’s World telecast as a tribute to Dr. Meredith. We also recorded the opening and closing sections for the Behind the Work festival film. We have four Tomorrow’s WorldPresentations scheduled for this weekend. Here in the U.S. we have Rolla, Missouri and Salisbury, Maryland. In Canada we have Windsor, Ontario and Grand Prairie, Alberta. We held a Living University Board of Regents meeting in which Dr. Germano presented me with a beautiful gavel and block set to mark the transition of leadership. Mr. Rod McNair’s excellent upcoming telecast on the Miracle of Dunkirk has been preliminarily rejected in Australia because Dr. Meredith’s booklet, Who Controls the Weather?, did not take into account global warming! Bill C-16 recently received Royal Assent in Canada, adding gender expression to the Human Rights Act. It supposedly gives protection to the transgender community by, among other things, making improper pronoun usage a prosecutable offense. I recently noticed using MS Word that it marked the word “mankind” and suggested substituting the word “humankind.” In other words, MS Word is now in the business of determining which words are politically correct and which are not. Look for far more intrusion into our everyday lives from these language police. I mention these examples to show how rapidly the noose is closing in as the “illiberal left” is taking control of a complacent world. We no longer have to wonder how persecution will come to the Church. Some good news is that this weekend the Tomorrow’s World program begins airing on Angel One at an additional time, 8:30 p.m. on Saturdays. This is additional nationwide exposure and will be a new Saturday evening audience for us.—Gerald Weston

From Herbie's blueprint and script. This is how they are programmed to analyze what is happening around them, and the types of comments they are trained to make. Not a heck of a lot of deep thinking or analysis here. Me Igor! Satan persecute!

Do a Google search of LCG literature and you will find "humankind" used dozens of times, even by Weston himself. Those uses, however, are dwarfed by uses of "mankind." Was Weston being politically correct each time he wrote "humankind" instead of "mankind"?

Then again, maybe Weston wants to embarrass his fellow minister John Meakin, who used "humankind" in his May-June 2017 Tomorrow's World magazine article (scroll down to the third paragraph from the end):

Brexit—A Messy Divorce?

It is good of Weston to warn us of the political correctness that has seeped into his own organization's publications. Now that he is in charge, what will he do about it?

Oh, I wouldn't worry to much if I were them. These guys were able to transition from using the word "NEGRO" back in the 1960s in their COG literature, and they will be able to adapt now.

The anti-free speech laws persecute everyone.

But, regardless of which church you're in, so far the biggest persecution has come from within and from the top.

Doesn't all this pettiness make you just want to persecute these people? And whose fault is it when a person acts in such a manner as to almost beg for persecution. I would put then in stocks in the village square and make them confess.

The meaning of words changes over the years, and people, Gerald Weston need to keep up with the changes.

When I was younger, the word 'gay' meant something quite different. Someone claiming they they were 'gay' would merely mean they were feeling happy.

If you are feely happy, then I suggest you don't say that you are 'gay', as clearly society will take this as a statement of sexual orientation.

If LCG want to be understood, they need to keep up with the meaning of words.

Well, Q, they don't believe in evolution. Only degeneration.

Such persecution from MS Word. Well, go back to the typewriter, Gerald.

Well, what can you expect from a former British penal colony like Australia with a population descended from criminals?

Fortunately, where it really matters, in the USA, President Trump put a quick stop to all that “man-made global warming” nonsense and the international conspiracy to rip off America.

Doesn't matter, and it's no longer even worthwhile to argue about, because we're already past the point of no return on the climate change anyway. The cycle is feeding itself and accelerating like a runaway nuclear chain reaction. Larsen A, Larsen B, and now Larsen C. Waterfalls in Antarctica? It wasn't too long ago that some were pointing to Antarctica, stating that its ice mass was actually growing, compensating for the ice loss at the North Pole. How quickly things change! Growing up in the the past hysteria over 1975, I never thought I would be saying this, but I sure am glad that I was born when I was.

"to advocate or promote genocide"

Aren't they talking about the genocide of (hu) mankind all the time?
They even have the specifics and keys as to the why.

LOL

It's probably no longer even worthwhile to argue about, Byker Bob, but have you ever stopped to consider that maybe it is only you that is beyond the point of no return?

The psycho is feeding himself and accelerating like a runaway nuclear chain reaction.

Dude, you really need to free yourself and escape from that crazy “man-made global warming” cult.

Weston mentions 'language police' in society. I've been noticing this over time. Secular society is becoming more and more like Herbs xCOGs. Society is becoming one large abusive cult with the main stream media being it's brainwashing organ. So future leaders in Gods kingdom won't be armchair critics. They will know from first hand experience the problems of trying to survive in a dysfunctional environment.

Yes, because a Microsoft Word suggestion is soooo trying. Talk about first world probz...

Weston doesn't really object to the word. He has used it himself in his own articles (you can Google to confirm this). What bothers him is that as an ACOG minister he isn't comfortable receiving correction.

Just for fun, I opened my own copy of Word and typed a few sentences involving mankind. I didn't get a request to change the word. Did Weston even consider, for a moment, that he might have made some kind of mistake requiring some kind of correction?

Spoken like someone who has bought into and been blinded by the PR disinformation campaign of the fossil fuel complex, there 6:32. Corporations do that, you know. We all watched the cigarette industry (and I loved my Camels and Marlboros) do this same thing when the broad consortium of real scientists were in concensus that the smoking of cigarettes caused cancer and other illnesses.

You know, no less an organization than NASA has been monitoring global climate change and regularly presenting evidence on their website. President Trump has stated that he wants this curtailled. (It runs counter to his party platform and agenda).

Even if the climate change is not man-made, clean non-carbon based energy sources will offset and mitigate the effects of the non-man-made components. We don't ignore potential hurricane damage by stating and restating that hurricanes are not man-made. We go to the extra work of battoning down the hatches. We also counter the effects of earthquakes by building earthquake-resistant skyscrapers and infrastructure so that a San Francisco style event won't happen.
Man has a history of taking preventative measures against the forces of nature. In the case of climate change, there are huge, very wealthy corporations which stand to lose billions of dollars if we do anything substantive to reduce the very measurable greenhouse gases which are choking the planet. The oceans are also dying, but that's a completely different topic.

Joining the d.i.d's (Dittoheads in denial) is no solution at all.

Rod McNair claimed: Bill C-16 recently received Royal Assent in Canada, adding gender expression to the Human Rights Act. It supposedly gives protection to the transgender community by, among other things, making improper pronoun usage a prosecutable offense. As usual, just simply wrong.

From Wikipedia, on Bill C-16: "...by adding gender identity or expression to the definition of identifiable group in section 318.[7][8] Section 318 makes it a criminal offence to advocate or promote genocide [or hatred] against members of an identifiable group, which now includes gender identity or gender expression."

For those with any semblance of enlightened morality, the above sentence would seem to be a no-brainer. Don't be inciting hate or genocide against people because of the gender they identify with. Don't worry, McNair, you're not going to be prosecuted because you used a different pronoun. Sheesh.

Rod McNair, like his Uncle Rod Meredith, does seem obsessively concerned about presenting himself as a virile, masculine male.

Here's a report that says the LCG report about Bill C-16 is distorted, to say the least:

Are Claims About Bill C-16 Correct?

From the report:

“I don’t think there’s any legal expert that would say that [using traditional pronouns] would meet the threshold for hate speech in Canada,” she says. Our courts have a very high threshold for what kind of comments actually constitutes hate speech, and the nature of speech would have to be much more extreme than simply pronoun misuse, according to Cossman.

“The misuse of pronouns is not equivalent to advocating genocide in any conceivable manner,” she continues. “If he advocated genocide against trans people, he would be in violation, but misusing pronouns is not what that provision of the code is about.”

It's rather ironic, coming from a church that says you are spiritually deficient if you don't call its ministers "Mr."

It's obvious that some tele evangelists have speech writers. So I don't see why the Herbie churches don't have hired sermon writers rather than the repetitive petty nonsense that members hear every weak. One trait of food is that it can't be eaten more than once. Which means that the repetition from the pulpit isn't even spiritual milk. The members aren't being spiritually fed at all. Just skimming through a self help book proves this.

Just like Rod, McNair has to over-compensate because of his feminine characteristics. That is why he looks buffoonish at times.
