PCG: Getting ready to flood the earth with new textbook in the World Tomorrow

The twisted mind of Gerald Flurry continues to run amok with one outrageous claim after another. His idolatry of all things Herbert Armstrong is sickening to watch.  Besides the Stone of Herb in his collection, Furry calls HWA's Mystery of the Ages the second most important book in the world.  It will soon be the text book of the entire population of humanity in Flurry's kingdom to come.

Habakkuk 2:17 is about the destruction of Lebanon, which was at one time the jewel of the Middle East. God is saying that the entire Earth will soon experience that kind of destruction! The Laodiceans will have to go through this because they are lukewarm; they aren’t excited or on fire for what God has given them. And some of them ended up fighting God and trying to destroy His truth!
But notice where this all leads: “For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea” (verse 14). We are getting ready to fill the Earth with the truth taught in Mystery of the Ages! After the Bible, this will be the main textbook in the World Tomorrow. It is the instruction manual God will use to teach all mankind! This will be the number one book that all mankind will study, after the Bible, because it decodes the Word of God! It contains the most wonderful message you could possibly hear. As God’s kings and priests in embryo (Revelation 1:6), we are preparing to teach the entire world from this book!
After all, it is more important to emulate Herbert Armstrong and ready Mystery of the Ages than it is to emulate Jesus Christ and read Galatians or Romans.

Well, Good. I suspect that toilet paper will still be needed in the world tomorrow!

As God’s kings and priests in embryo... Since this is the case, practice your kingly and priest functions now. Practice makes perfect. As king tell Mr. Flurry what to do and where to go. Get up and preach a sermon. As king, demand a ride in the Gulfstream jet. You are a king, this cannot be denied.

It seems to me that quite a few groups don't think that the Bible is quite enough. In spite of what Paul wrote in II Tim 3:17 that the bible is enough to thoroughly (not partially) equip us for every (not most) good works. The Christian Science folks have their "Science and Health with Keys to the Scriptures", the Mormons have their BOM (the most correct book on earth), Doctrines and Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. The leaders of these groups keep elevating themselves to a position closer and closer to God. Hmm, seems a bit like the story of Lucifer who wanted to be "God".

Now there's a frightening little bit of "Love our Jesus or else". Ranks right up there with …

Zechariah 14: 16Then all the survivors from the nations that came against Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17And should any of the families of the earth not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of Hosts, the rain will not fall on them. 18And if the people of Egypt will not go up and enter in, then rain will not fall on them; this will be the plague the LORD inflicts on the nations who do not go up to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles.…"

Maybe Satan "rebelled" for good reason?

Revelation 4:8

Revelation 4:8-11 8Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under its wings. Day AND NIGHT THEY NEVER STOP SAYING: "'Holy, holy, holy is the LORD God Almighty,' who was, and is, and is to come."

It was bolt or go nuts with repetition and limited educational experiences

The idea that we need "any" book that we "think" is inspired by God to live a up-right and happy life is nothing but b.s. . If God exists didn't he create us with a mind to reason what is right from wrong.

You are moving into blasphemy territory with your 8.44 AM comment. It does say in Revelation 4.8 that they are creatures and not angels or free moral agents.
God affirming His position in a universe were demons and humans constantly minimise Him, and try to usurp his authority, is understandable.
A all powerful God is up there and you are down here, so I recommend you guard your mouth.

"Up there"? Up where? If you mean in the "sides of the North," I can go with that as the constellation Cassiopeia, known as "The Throne" and to us looks like a "W" in the sides of the North circumpolarly, then yes, God's throne is "up there in the sides of the North". There indeed is a Sea of Glass through and before the Throne which we'd recognize as the Milkyway, as did those in the day when they looked up astro-theologically speaking
and to write about things of which they actually knew nothing literally about.

Revelation 1:4 John to the seven churches that are in Asia:
Grace to you and peace from him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven spirits who are before his throne..."

The Seven Spirits before the throne or as some say "across from" the Throne, in the author's night vision looking up, were the Seven Stars of the Big Dipper directly opposite Cassiopeia with the Milky Way between them. It was an impressive summer night view. Note Revelation 3:1 admits that the Seven Spirits of God are associate with "The Seven Stars" which are the seven that makes up the Dipper, which is also circumpolar and never sets.

Revelation 3:1 “And to the angel of the church in Sardis write: ‘The words of him who has the seven spirits of God and the seven stars."

I understand that most will never understand the astro-theological nature of the parts of the Bible, huge parts depending on who and how you read it. It is not a Western Book and unlike today, people then believed that stars were Beings and alive.

As long as we're at it, did you ever wonder how one Angel with a flaming sword, guarding the Eastern portion of the Garden of Eden could keep the couple out? Why not enter from the North, West or South where there is no guard? Genesis 3:

" After sending them out, the LORD God stationed mighty cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden. And he placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life."

Were the authors of Genesis, Priests in Babylonian Captivity, not any Moses, watching Orion, the Hunter, with a raised sword and Shield rising in the East after Sundown?

Perhaps it all is just amazing coincidence that the night sky matches much of the heavenly descriptions of Thrones, Spirits, Seasons, Characters and story line.

Or it could be true that "as above, so below" was the rule of the day in writing about such things. Many historians and theologians do recognize these perspectives.

Anyway, it is not blasphemy to speculate on how ancient authors came up with their stories and I do not have to watch my mouth, nor shall I. :) But thanks for your concerns

and too...
Revelation 22: 16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you[a] this testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.”

You and I don't get to refer to ourselves in terms of astrology, but Revelation Jesus does and calls himself "the bright and morning star" which can either be the planet Venus which preceeds the Sun and is also known as "lucifer", the light bringer of Ezekiel or the Sun itself.

The last Book of the Old Testament ends with "But for you who revere my name, the SUN of righteousness will rise with healing in its RAYS. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves." Malachi 4:2

So very Egyptian and astrotheological, So while it may make you uncomfortable to use astrotheological terms, it didn't Jesus or the Priests who wrote about such things.

The most interesting quote for me from watching HWA College's commencement online in May was Mr. Flurry telling the graduates Mystery of the Ages "is better than you think it is."

What did that mean? Are students murmuring against it - or at least the emphasis on it?

Alright Dennis, here's the diehl, oops, I mean deal... God's throne is on a planet near a star called Kolob- it's in the Book of Abraham! Old Joe Smith said so, and there's even a hymn about it.

Now, sit back and enjoy the choir.

The Wire is a much better TV program than Mystery of the Ages is a book.

I wonder if Gerald Flurry ever has any buyer's remorse over paying such an exhorbitant price for such unremarkable and worthless artifacts from HWA. He'd have done much better if he had purchased the rights to just one of Michael Jackson's songs. Probably could have even funded his grandkids retirement with that!

It is not about the money and it never has been (unfortunately).

GF has as much remorse as the Crusaders capturing Jerusalem and finishing the entire population! It is a huge victory whatever people with a different perspective might want to add.

The “new” WCg, as I understand it, nck, initially wanted to enforce the copyrights in such a way as to suppress the false teachings of HWA. That was a noble cause, and although the world would have been a better place without Armstrongism, there were ways to make end-runs around it, such as taking the basic precepts, and re-writing (paraphrasing) and retitling all of HWA’s booklets. That’s what was done by Dave Pack, Rod Meredith, the various committees that ran UCG, and the people who splintered from them.

By his actions, we can infer that Flurry assumed that if he “had the conch”, PCg would become the penultimate breakaway success amongst the rest of the splinters, and by some definition of common sense, would appear to have captured the coveted position of obvious successor to HWA. Now, if somehow, the exclusive copyrights to the books and booklets of HWA had naturally and miraculously gravitated to PCg, it would have made for some very convincing “street theater” at least in ACOg circles. But, that didn’t happen. Flurry manipulated the process by agreeing to purchase the rights to noncommercial materials (which had always been given away) and paying an exhorbitant sum for these materials, and then actually editing them to suit his own purposes. We can know that he made a tactical error by the fact that his organization has shrunken, and remained largely invisible, just as the rest of the splinters.

The whole process that we’ve witnessed with the splinters must seem very disappointing and even demoralizing to all of the leaders. The only exception to this general downward trend whom we could credibly cite was Ian Boyne, who, as a successful long-term TV host and journalist, had many of the same skills as the Armstrongs. By all accounts, the work he did in Jamaica was actually growing, yet he actually took the time to reach out to us, to communicate with us, and to consider us a valued asset.
The best hope for carrying the banner, for reforming (if that were possible) Armstrongism, and harnessing or managing its viability suddenly was taken out of the picture when Ian passed away. To me, that’s another indicator that God does not intend to do any work through Armstrongism. HWA’s empire was a fluke, and HWA seriously blew the gig.

The splinter leaders are much like hearing-impaired people, tapping their feet to music they cannot hear, simply because they see those who can hear the music doing so.

I think you got my hint on the crusader massacre, not something to boast about despite the lofty goals.

My point! I do not believe that Flurry thought that they would be legitimate heirs IF they posessed the copyrights. I think he believed he was legit all the way and the acquiring of the copyrights would just be a step in that process.

I don't think he wanted "to appear" like anything. I believe he believes that the original booklets contained "magic spiritual power" EXACTLY like he believes some Oregonian ice deposit contains "magic supernatural powers."

I think these leaders do not make "tactical errors". I think they act upon what they believe. EXACTLY in the manner why uncle adolph did not push through at Dunkirk because of some magical "middle class" believe in making friends with the British Empire. While ANY educated staff officer knows that you PUSH trough when an enemy is on the run.

That is why these "vision" people need to organize people around them who will fill what they do not posess or they run amuck. That's the symbiosis between Rader and HWA.
That's why uncle adolph was moving armies on his board that did not exist anymore while the general staff was looking in amazement.

As long as the bible is around "armstrongists" will rise in perilious times.
Who would have thought doctrines like that would become quite popular after the destruction of Munster by the Anabaptists, or the rise of HWA after the 1844 disappointment of the "awakening movement".

It's no use fighting "Armstrongism" in a general sense although personally it can be rewarding. From a general perspective I find it more interesting to see what makes people tick, why they acquire what they do not need, Why they believe what will destroy them, Why churches flood when there are wars or rumors of war.
