Hypothetically, the World Tomorrow was supposed to be for everyone, not just one demographic! They must have been experiencing difficulty in imparting the allure to the young people who probably assumed that TWT was going to suck just as badly as being part of HWA’s church. Their parents had been fooled, but were from a completely different generation, with different paradigms. Obviously the problem never completely went away, or we wouldnt have the GrayCOGs of today!
Yeah it's been over three decades and I'm now middle aged but I'm glad Armstrong's version of the Millennial Kingdom called The World of Tomorrow never came---we got North Korea to resemble that!
Young people of today would most likely paraphrase the Smashing Pumpkins: “The ACOGs are a vampire! Despite all my rage I am still just a rat in the cage!”
The first generation was the generation to really have survived a huge war of worldwide scope where "the rod of mine anger" had wreaced havoc, entering into the establishment of a world of pax, the empire americana and teaching the world "how to live and do enterprise through the unseen hand of free trade" and all that through faithfully tithing to the priesthood on and from the shining city on the hill.
The 2nd generation had vietnam and hippies and the beach boys as satan was released from the pit.
