LCG: Why are its leaders and members so contentious, haughty, connceited, and not of the same mind?

Another day in COGland and we find its members once again being told they can't do anything right. All the things Winnail accuses members of are exactly what the leadership did when they rebelled against the Mother church and against the Global Church of God. Haughtiness, ambition, power, and the contentious attitudes of its leadership still prevent the church from being of one mind.

Keys for Working Together: Jesus referred to His disciples as His “friends” and He encouraged them to “love one another” (John 15:12–17). The Apostle Paul referred to those who assisted him in the ministry as “my fellow workers” (Romans 16:3). He also referred to members of God’s Church as “God’s fellow workers” (1 Corinthians 3:9), and “workers together with Him” (2 Corinthians 6:1). These are exciting opportunities that carry an important responsibility. The Scriptures give us guidelines about how to work together. We are urged not to let contentions divide us, but to “be perfectly joined together in the same mind” (1 Corinthians 1:10–13). We are also advised to avoid being haughty and conceited or ambitious for a position, but to be humble and strive to work together peacefully (Romans 12:16–18). James said we can avoid divisions by being gentle, teachable, and easily entreated (James 3:13–18). As we learn to “love one another” and treat each other as “friends” we will be more effective “fellow workers” for the Kingdom of God.
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail

Is Winnail's new post subtly masking an inner church survey on whether his flock is now for, or against, the LCG Mailroom "Wall Of Shame" bulletin board? You know, the one full of staff picks of their favorite co-worker prayer requests sent in to the LCG mailroom correspondence dept. that they have up there to laugh at & make fun of & ridicule?

Did the LCG laughing mailroom staff consider the prayer requests were sent in by "friends" out here too? Were those friends hoping their prayer requests were being sent in good faith to an organization that would read but not laugh, and share love to them also?

Misquoting scripture Doug? "Teachable" is not in James 3:17. Do you mean must accept the LCG's teaching?

Lcg dont do "church surveys".

Don't the members of LCG pick up on the bad overall vibe or aura of their church? A disquieting spirit?

Winnail published that same little article in November 2007 and in February 2010. I guess things haven't improved much in LCG in the last 16 years.

"We must.." "We all should..." "James says..." "Paul tells us..." "God wants us all to..."
are all motivators that never work to change anyone or anything. It usually means "Get in line folks and let's all speak the same thing we have designated as true for you and stop this independent thinking stuff".

My wife and I definitely picked up on this. We came to understand going to LCG was grieving the Holy Spirit.

This is happening in everyone of these splinter groups to one level or another. I've witnessed it in two of them, and I have friends who have witnessed it in others of them. I think it's high time ALL the brethren pull a Trump, and drain the swamp. Don't give these men anymore ground, and send them packing.

That’s exactly what they do, they grieve the Holy Spirit. See, when you depend on Christ, His yoke is easy. But their way is the frustration way. They got that old and out dated model. And Douglas whinnying again.

Got your red MACOGGA ball cap going on? (Make Armstrong Churches of God Great Again) You might could get away with using Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Swamp Music" as your theme song as you drain. 'Course, I'd rather watch the swamp drain Donald, but that's just me.

Surely, Doug Winnail has grown in grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, or, hasn't he?

To repeat virtually the same message over 16 years and then to blame/judge the followers for not coming up to Doug's desires indicates that those followers are somehow stagnant in their thinking. And Doug's own thinking? Probably stagnant too, but only for 16 years? Perhaps since 16 January 1986? That's some 38 years? Perhaps longer? Doug, driven by "another spirit" to believe "another gospel," while still awaiting the arrival of "another Jesus" to arrive very soon to reign for 1,000 years on planet earth. Perhaps Doug's "another Jesus" is also in a stagnant pattern like an airplane circling a fog-bound airport waiting for that fog to break and allow the aircraft to land before it runs out of fuel.

Does Doug Winnail even realize that both Lazarus and Judas (yes, and even those 2 thieves beside Jesus at His crucifixion) are both going to be in the Kingdom of God as part of the second resurrection?

Oh, that's part of that growing in knowledge of Jesus Christ that Doug must go through, first...maybe even learn about grace while he is studying his Bible, because Doug has not, cannot, will not, of and by himself, qualify and meet his own requirements/prerequisites required of his followers to be in the kingdom of God.

Matthew 26:46 "Rise, let us be going: behold, he is at hand that doth betray me.
47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast.
49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.
50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him."

Doug concludes with writing: "...As we learn to “love one another” and treat each other as “friends” we will be more effective “fellow workers” for the Kingdom of God..."

Doug, a person with God's Spirit will be a friend, love one another and be effective, and b/c of that Spirit, which God provides by His grace. Love is a fruit of God's Spirit. It isn't about you, self, learning to "love one another," and Jesus, not that "another Jesus," knew that. You don't, b/c you think you can do it: you get the glory, honor and praise for "learning to love" others: not God!

When will Doug learn to know that: "... base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, [yea], and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:" I Cor 1:28
:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence."

For Doug: if you suspect your followers lack love, and don't treat one another as friends, then you might ask: why hasn't God, by the power of His Spirit (source for love, joy, peace...temperance, fear, good works, etc.,) made that happen in their lives over the past 16, 29, 38...years?

But will Doug also look into a mirror and ask himself the same question?

Time will tell...

John

You mean whinying, not whinnying, right?

To whine or to whinny, make sure the difference.
