I have said for years that all Bible Angels are men, while all gift shop Angels are women. This may or may not be universally true.
Personally, I feel Ezekiel's vision of what he imagines a Cherub to look like is based on the astro-theology of the day when constructing a Cherub based the four seasons of Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall Constellations.
While we have NETFLIX the ancients and the prophets had NIGHTFLIX. Or it is just a coincidence.
Some say Ezekiel had good drugs.... :)
Winter: Face of a Man=Aquarius the Waterman
...exactly three months later
Spring: Face of a Bull=Taurus
...exactly three months later
Summer: Leo=Face of a Lion
...exactly three months later
Fall: Aquilla= The Eagle
4 I looked, and I saw a windstorm coming out of the north—an immense cloud with flashing lightning and surrounded by brilliant light. The center of the fire looked like glowing metal, 5 and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures. 15 As I looked at the living creatures, I saw a wheel on the ground beside each creature with its four faces. 16 This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like topaz, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel. 17 As they moved, they would go in any one of the four directions the creatures faced; the wheels did not change direction as the creatures went. 18 Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around.
Revelation has a bit of a different take but close to Ezekiel's. But the Order of the 4 Seasons differs presented as Summer/Leo, Spring/Calf, Winter/Man and Fall/Aquilla the Eagle. Each here have six wings expression the 24 hour day.
The Throne is the Circumpolar Constellation, Cassiopeia which in the "sides of the North". The Sea of Glass like crystal is the Milky Way that passes over and before Cassiopeia, "the Throne".

5 From the throne came flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder. In front of the throne, seven lamps were blazing. These are the seven spirits[a] of God.
"In front of the throne"the Seven Spirits of God" which are the Seven stars of the Big Dipper directly opposite Cassiopeia
The wings "full of eyes" are the stars behind what are perceived as the wings.
It is truly "As above...so below"

And in the midst of the throne, and around the throne, were four living creatures full of eyes in front and in back. 7 nThe first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. 8 The four living creatures, each having six wings, were full of eyes around and within. if you ever watch Interstellar with Matthew McConaghey when he is in a spacesuit floating in multi-dimensions behind his daughter's bookcase, you can sort of wonder if angel's multi eyes could be like that multi dimension shifting around the bookcase(s)

Foolish former minister, Ezekiel was a priest so he KNEW what they looked like because he read about them from Adam's testimony in Gen 3, and he saw them in the Holy of Holies. (Ex 25, 1 Kings 6) They were woven into the curtains of the tabernacle (Ex 26:1) and they were carved into the wood of the Holy of Holies. (1 Kings 6:29)
He didn't pull this out of his much book learning.

Where in the Bible do you get an account of Ezekiel's reading journal?
Secondly, the Bible was on scrolls in Ezekiel's lifetime, and not even divided into chapters and verses.
Also, this next statement has nothing to do with you and your reply personally, but these graven images you cited of the angels are actually a violation of the second commandment. This is apparently another one of those pesky conflicts of scripture. We faulted the Catholics for having religious images in their places of worship, remember?
Let's face it. Even the most recent events in the Bible happened over 2,000 years ago. Who amongst us can truthfully say that we know 100% truth about anything that happened so far back in time? My own speculation is that this is why Jesus distilled the law and the prophets down into Love for God, and Love for fellow man. Legalism today is simply not possible. Nobody can get the details right. In spite of that we have two basic groups. One still insists that you can get all the legalism right, and the other searches for alternative explanations. Both are dead wrong because they are trying to know the unknowable.

Well, no. You're not to make cherubs for the purpose to worship them but making curtains with cherubims is OK.
Can I have a picture of Jesus as long as I don't worship it? I mean, especially since, per you, Ezekiel probably knew what He looked like?
No picture is available unless somebody smuggled a polaroid from the pharisees in the temple in 20-33 AD and someone finds it.
If I happen to see a cherub hanging out on Fourth Street, I'll report back and let you guys know what it looks like.

Plenty of people have made sketches, drawings and paintings of Him over time but you can't tell which one is true because they differ.
For instance, there's an historical record of a statue that was made of the woman who was healed of hemophilia. (Mt 9:20) Eusebius wrote that two statues were made, one of the woman and one of Christ, at the gates of her house in Caesarea Philippi. He said that he saw it himself and that many also made coloured portraits of Him and the apostles. You see them everywhere in the ancient catacombs and prisons of Rome.

Go check the Pentagon UFO video on the Wikipedia site, the Gimbal video, Jan 2015, taken by the US fighter planes based aboard the USS Nimitz and see how fast they move and their ability to go against the wind at high speeds while rotating in the air and spreading their wings.
