More enlightenment from Doug Winnail...remember boys and girls, learn to forgive people as your church leaders forgive you!
Please discard all memories and emotions from how you have been treated over the decades by church leaders. If you do not, then you are NOT a real Christian. Above all, never say negative things about your church leaders! Again, if you do, then you are NOT a real Christian. They would NEVER talk about you that way, would they?
The Importance of Forgiveness: A vital key for working together with others is the willingness and ability to forgive someone. The Scriptures tell us that we have all sinned, but if we repent, we can be forgiven because Jesus died for our sins (John 3:16; Romans 3:23–26). However, Jesus taught that we must be ready and willing to forgive others who offend us—or God will not forgive us (Matthew 6:12–15). Forgiving others involves not holding grudges or harboring bitterness, not seeking to get even, and not gossiping or saying negative things about others who have hurt us in some way. This is not easy, especially when memories, emotions, and personal pride are involved, but that is what we are admonished to do if we want to be real Christians—because real Christians are people who have learned to forgive. Forgiveness is a vital key that makes working in harmony with others possible, productive, and enjoyable.

Does this mean that Doug has forgiven Sheldon Monson and Jason Fritts for seeking the well-being of LCG brethren over the imperious dictates of LCG leadership? Or maybe it means that Doug has forgiven Joe Tkach Jr. for insisting on the exact same kind of loyalty that Doug now demands of his underlings?
Or maybe this just means that Doug just dishes out some word salad every week without caring to act on the implications of what he is saying. Rhymes with whip-a-Brit.

Forgiveness is central to the life of a real Christian. However, in the context of ACOG leadership sins, this admonition from Doug seems a little self-serving - don't you think? Moreover, we should note that forgiveness is NOT synonymous with looking the other way, endorsing, enabling, or permission to continue the bad behavior!

Miss Montgomery's father accepted the 30 pieces of silver with which LCG's leadership sought to bribe him, and he is now a favored minister in exchange for not speaking out against the negligence that killed his daughter.
So Douglas is advocating a paradise for sinners where there's no accountability and consequences for sin. And in his fantasy world, sinners never have to repent. Rather, it's the responsible who need to "repent" by agreeing to constantly pay for the sins of the unrepentant.
Doug from the Lying Church of God needs to consider Adam Smith's “Mercy to the guilty is cruelty to the innocent.”

Simply out, Jesus warns us about these types of teachers who try to rescue good out of evil

No forgiveness is required if such false teachers
Forgiveness is an interesting topic. Sometimes you can fully and sincerely forgive someone, but not really want to have a relationship with them. I think that many of the child-beating parents from the so-called golden era of the WCG wanted both forgiveness, and a relationship with their children. The problem is that every time one sees such people it opens up old wounds. I certainly always hoped that God would not punish my parents for anything they did to us. I just never wanted to have anything to do with them again. They were not the types of people whom I'd even imagine as potential friends. Nothing really in common.
I'll forgive, but not forget the tyrant that was the minister of the Peoria,Il. WCG Church from 1978 to when I left in 1982. That man made life a living hell for many people in that congregation. He almost drove one woman to suicide because she was having a hard time quitting smoking. Thankfully, he's no longer a minister in any splinter group, so he's no longer hurting people. BTW, his initials are J.E. and he's listed in the Painful Truth's Hall of Shame.

No, no, no. You have to remember -- although Weston is not as outspoken about it as Rod Meredith was, he follows the infallible-leader belief. It goes like this:
This is the church of God, right? As such, then Jesus Christ can remove or install anyone, anytime He feels the need to do so. Since He hasn't removed me, then whatever mistakes I might have made did not rise to the level that He needed to remove me. Therefore, who do you think you are, that you can disqualify me as leader when Jesus Christ has not seen fit to do so?
This is the church of God infallibility doctrine. We will never see Winnail or Weston (or Ames or Fall or anyone else) admit that they were wrong in their COVID dictates.
It’s like saying you must honor and love your parent, but what if a parent abused you or even worse? I like saying you must take care of your parents when get older, but they are divorced and live hundreds of miles apart.
See I have forgiven a minister or two a long time ago, so it’s not eating me up inside. But I will say that, you got people coming out the woodwork.
Former members have their own radio stations, published books, podcast, and YouTube videos expressing the harm they went through in the past.
Sorry Doug, your leadership needs to change. You guys are time, date and stamped. They can’t admit where they are wrong, therefore they will have tendency to continue hurting people.
Well 12:36, I would respond to your third paragraph with "Father God, if you agree with what this minister just said, here, please catch!" I would then throw my hankerchief in the air and watch it fall to the ground uncaught.
