Dennis on "Mom! He called me a bad name!"

"Mom!  He called me a bad name!"

You have to love the religiously human...
Titus 1:

12 Even one of their own prophets has said, “Cretans are always liars, evil brutes, lazy gluttons.” 13 This testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, so that they will be sound in the faith 14  and will pay no attention to Jewish myths or to the commands of those who reject the truth.

Dennis Diehl - EzineArticles Expert AuthorPaul was demanding his followers  and the Cretan  brethren pay no attention to Jewish Myths and go with his newer more pagan ones. He was also saying they should only obey his COMMANDS.  In other words, it's Dave Pack telling the brethren not to follow the commands of Bob Thiel or Rod Meredith. (Did I put them in the wrong order?) It's Ron Weinland telling the brethren not to listen to Dave Pack.  It's Dave saying don't listen to Gerald Flurry.  Its Gerald saying...well we get the point.

The Apostle Paul must have liked Epimenides, the 6th Century BC philosopher' at least for his proposing, contrary to  Cretan belief,  that Zeus was  immortal.  The lie of the Cretans was denying that Zeus was immortal and thus would fit Paul's assertion that Jesus was too.  He and Epimenides were telling the truth about God-Men as long as you did not think of Epimenides as a Cretan, who always lie...  Since Paul told us several times in his letters, "I lie not,"  we KNOW he can't be lying!

Epimenides wrote in his immortalize poem from which Paul quoted,

"They fashion a tomb for thee of high and holy one
The Cretans, always liars, evil beasts , idle bellies!
But thou art not dead, thou livest and abidest forever
For in thee (Zeus) we live and move and have our being"

Paul loved these Pagan quotes even though Dave Pack tells us he rejected his mother's pleas to read Plato, Aristotle and Socrates.  Dave also discounts Einstein because "he had wild hair," but I spare you.

This , "Cretans are always liars, and this is true" concept that Paul had leads to a paradox which Mr. Epimenides may not have considered or even thought of.

Thomas Fowler  (1869) states the paradox as follows: "Epimenides  the Cretan says, 'that all the Cretans are liars,' but Epimenides is himself a Cretan; therefore he is himself a liar. But if he be a liar, what he says is untrue, and consequently the Cretans are veracious; but Epimenides is a Cretan, and therefore what he says is true; hence the Cretans are liars, Epimenides is himself a liar, and what he says is untrue. Thus we may go on alternately proving that Epimenides and the Cretans are truthful and untruthful."

All that aside, here we have Paul calling a whole nation of people liars and since he is not a Cretan (Well, not that kind), he gets to pronounce that indeed they are all liars, evil beasts and idle bellies and declare that "this is true."

While the paradox of a Cretan saying all Cretans are liars, which would mean he was lying about Cretans being liars, the Old and  New Testaments are FULL of the religious bashing the religious for their views and lying too.  The Prophets made a living off bashing everyone but themselves.  Each group said the pens of the other were lying and the writers thus liars.  There must have been many pants on fire in the OT.

The Apostles often confronted each other and pointed out each other's faults in thinking. Paul bragged in Galatians about  how he "withstood Peter to his face."  Of course we don't have Peter's side of the confrontation, but I suspect we aren't talking about pork here.  I believe Peter now could see that Paul was not abiding by the Acts 15 injunctions about eating meat sacrificed to idols, by what was on the table. I bet Peter called Paul a liar and Paul called Peter a Cretan.

The entire book of James is a repudiation of Paul's book of Romans.  "Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works."  In short, James was calling Paul a doof and a liar for teaching against the teachings.  Paul taught against lots of teachings and other teachers "tried those who say they are Apostles and are not,"   and got an "A" from Revelation Jesus for doing so.

The true ministers end up calling every one else, "twice dead," "raging waves of the sea,"  "foaming shame,"  and "whose God is the belly," to top it all off.   If this is the case then we must consider Burger King, McDonalds and all Buffets to be Churches in America.

Paul called people whited walls and Jesus called them whited grave stones.  Whited walls are different from whitened grave stones and tombs. The walls of Paul's mind were the ones made smooth so when men 'pisseth against the walls," they don't get as much splashback as when those bathhouse walls were rough.  When he called the High Priest one of these, he got his mouth slapped but apologized because he didn't know it was the High Priest. You only curse the lower classes.

I guess one can criticize and make fun of the members but not the supreme leaders in the COGs.
The Apostle Paul crows about "when cursed, we bless and curse not."   (I Cor 4:12) This held true only for so long as cursing others was not necessary.  Once it became necessary, he cursed them.  He cursed them for accepting any other Gospel besides the one he delivered to them and he hope they'd not only get circumcised, but cut off their private parts completely.  Nice!
(Aside-I hear the guy at the zoo that circumcises the elephants doesn't get much pay for that dangerous work, but he does admit the tips are big...sorry:)

Matthew 5: 22 finds Jesus saying "But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire, " and then going on to curse the Pharisees as fools. (Matthew 23:17).  The apologetic is that Jesus meant not to call fellow believers fools but it was fine to call the unbelieving fools...fools.   I guess ALL those at the Sermon on the Mount were automatic believers and not a fool in the crowd.   It's like Dave Pack forbidding members to give to charity because he can better us their money and it says help if for  "...the least of these, MY BRETHREN," so that doesn't count those outside the group.

The point is that when there are hundreds of versions of the one True Church , the Restored Church, The Living Church, the Packaged, I mean PKG Church, the Plain Truth, the Present Truth and the One Truth, you're going to get ministers and members bashing each other big time.  On top of that, some of the main players in the COG saga say and do such amazingly stupid things based on their view of scripture, it simply can't be helped.

I NEVER met anyone who knew they were in the false church or any minister who thought he was a false prophet, priest, king, watcher, witness or lunatic, until it was apparent to all, and then they would  deny it and dig in.  The Apostle Paul set this form of denial as standard practice for ministers when he noted "all those in Asia have turned aside from me," and then went on to ask God not to hold against THEM.  It never occurred to Paul to wonder why they ALL forsook him, because he could not see he was any part of the problem.  The eye that sees can't see itself as we should understand.

Reputation bashing is standard procedure between members and ministers, friends and foes when talking about their faith and church.  You bash others when you can't think of a logical way to disagree or think critically, but most of us don't do that anyway when the painbody erupts to feed.  We think more clearly and critically after it eats it's full and then goes back to sleep for a time until the next time.  I can write a dozen articles on what's really going on this or that story, scripture or Biblical teaching and get two or three comments.  Post something on stupid is as stupid does and all the pain bodies erupt and the comments soar.

It's just easier to play "yeah?  yeah!  Oh yeah? " than it is to have a good discussion on a new insight into what one misunderstood in the past.  Criticism is more fun than Critical thinking.

If you are truly seeking to understand what is true and honest , correct and more real, you don't get your information from a painbody while it is feeding.  But that's for another day...

All Christians criticize each other.  Those hurt and offended by the behaviors or teachings of others criticize those that do it.  Those that do it, criticize back for being criticized and to reestablish , in their own minds, that they are not teaching what is not so in reality.  Remember, NO one believes they believe the wrong things and most ministers don't believe in their most introspective moments they are teaching what is not true.  Their ignorance is a function of their education and not in the ability to read or be somewhat charismatic in their delivery.

We all like to believe we are above the fray and as time passes the few can rise above it and let it all be what it was and is.  That is a skill and a gift from the universe if one ever gets there, "and there be few that be that find it," as they say.

Until then, even with all the injunctions to "bless and curse not," found in the Bible, written by those who can't do it themselves,  criticism is to be expected as part of the curriculum here at Earth School.  I guess the Cretans could have sued Paul for defamation of character but he'd just say he was quoting their own Cretan guru so go talk to him.  He could also make the point that since the original comment was a lie from a lying Cretan, Cretans are not really liars.  Awwww...never mind!

Ron Weinland: Oops! My Bad! Jesus Is Coming Next Year, or Maybe After That, or Maybe.....

Ron Weinland preached another sermon on what was supposed to be the last day of earth.  The morally and spiritual bankrupt false prophet and now documented liar, is tripping all over himself making excuses.  He made no mistake, it will still happen, however he is now moving on to a different phase.

Bob Thiel sat down and listen to Ron's sermon and made these notes:
We have proven, by how we live, who we are…We have followed the way God has led us…It’s just a bit farther…
Pentecost 2012 is being proven incorrect for the return of Jesus Christ…Does that negate that I am God’s witness and prophet?  Absolutely not!…
Ron seems to forget this scripture from his Bible:

“If what a prophet proclaims in the name of the Lord does not take place or come true, that is a message the Lord has not spoken. That prophet has spoken presumptuously. Do not be afraid of him” (Deut. 18:22).

It will be on a Pentecost that Jesus will return…We just didn’t know there would be a little more to the race…Jesus Christ is to return on Pentecost…

Oops!  My Bad!  It wasn't 2012.  It will be next year, or the year after that,or the year after that, or...
All have to examine, reexamine, where they are…So many things we have not understood.  The work of the two witnesses is over…We are going into a different phase…

Over???? You haven't done any work, especially your wife! There has not been a peep our of her.  Nothing to prove she is one of the two witnesses.
Mockers…have to excuse away what they do not want to hear…
There is no contradiction in God’s word…
There is only one answer to where we are…
Jesus Christ must return on Pentecost…What does it mean?..
And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. {Acts 2:19-21}

Beautiful.  I think of the 63,000…There is so much coming brethren.  So much that is exciting…The three and a half years is finished.  The job of the two witnesses is complete.  My job as a prophet and apostle continues…
So now that Ron's failed prophecy has been epic, his job as one of the two witnesses is now over?  When did it ever start.  He has never proclaimed a worldwide message.  Never preached from the streets of Jerusalem.  Nothing.  Never fear though.  Ron will continue on as a prophet and apostle to lie, blaspheme and steal peoples money in order to keep himself,  his wife and offspring in their comfortable lifestyle.  His daughter should be prosecuted for stealing money too!  Lock up the entire family!

Is this {Acts 2:19-21} teaching that the sun will turn into darkness before the Day of the Lord?  No, no, no…In the New Testament, especially, things are messed up…they don’t have the grammar…

Is this idiot serious? The Bible he considers inerrant is messed up because the ancients did not know grammar? LOL!   Those ancients certainly knew about lying false prophets!
Mockers…people will have a ‘hay day’ with it…
You can run another year…
More in 2008 in God’s Final Witness will come to pass…Now we can see…
What follows the work of the two witnesses now being completed?  We move forward…
Jesus Christ did not eternally exist…
It is in God’s hands…I understand the outrage that some will manifest by these words…God has brought us to this point in time…
We move forward ever thankful for the last 3 1/2 years we have not suffered {physically} as we could have…
A few things have to happen..for Europe…to grant people more time for repentance…

It's always someone else's fault.  Dumb church members, society as a whole, but NEVER, I repeat NEVER is the prophet or apostle wrong.
Now we move forward and continue on…We are going to be waiting another year.  For we know it has to occur on Pentecost…We are God’s true church.  There is nowhere else to go.

Yes there is!  You may soon find yourself headed to jail.  I can't wait!

Dave Pack: I Am A Better Witness Than Ron Weinland

The worlds most perfect Church of God leader to have ever graced this universe is mocking Ron Weinland for his epic failure today as one of the two witnesses.  Dave apparently thinks HE is the better one of the witnesses.  Since Dave runs the worlds largest Church of God ministry, has the most people, rakes in more money and has the most beautiful campus road in the world, it all stands to reason that Dave has to puff his chest out even more.

The Two Witnesses have become a subject of great speculation. But silly theories have replaced what was once sound understanding among God’s people. With the passing of time, as their arrival becomes more imminent, interest will only increase. Few today seem to remember what the Church taught—and so plainly—including how these men will appear, and from where they will receive their office.

The most prominent self-proclaimed “Two Witnesses”—Ron Weinland and his wife—will be revealed as frauds on Sunday, May 27. This husband/wife “team” will fail in spectacular fashion. Sadly, their public debacle will be an embarrassment—a black eye—to those who understand the truth of these two final prophets.

For those who are sobered by this deception, it is more important than ever that God’s people well understand the Two Witnesses. They need to know the TRUTH about the final two prophets soon to appear. You can understand the Two Witnesses!

Dave's chest thumping is here:  Where Will the Two Witnesses Come From?

Ron Weinland: Still No Jesus

The sun has not set on the West Coast and Pacific Islands, so Weinerdude's false "jesus" still has time to return.  But don't count on it.

The apostate false prophet, Ron Weinland is already making excuses for his latest failure.  He posts today:

The “present truth”—truth that we have at this moment in time—truth that is “presently” with us is a possible reality that is not easy to carry. We have believed that Jesus Christ would begin his return in the atmosphere of this earth today, the Sabbath day of May 26th. We have believed this to be a matter of timing for sundown in Jerusalem toward the end of May 26th.

As I write this, that time is just about here and nothing has begun in the world that would signal the need or purpose for that reality—Christ’s return. Yes, it could still take place, as the timing in this present day of a worldwide observance of God’s Sabbath is still ongoing. Such is fully in God’s hands and according to His will, as to what comes to pass and when. It is true that after the captivity of Judah in Babylon that the Jewish people began using the Babylon system of counting time and God did begin to deal with them more according to the type of system they had begun to use. Certainly the weekly Sabbath and annual Holy Days were still counted according to God’s calendar of timing.

So today, I will still look for the possible fulfillment of all those things we have looked forward to right up to the end of the Sabbath day in Hawaii, as that is the timing used today in this modern world.

Yet I feel compelled to write this post, as I strongly feel it is necessary for God’s people right now. I will still look for the possibility of Christ’s coming right up until the very end of this Sabbath on earth. For the sake of all God’s people, I hope that there is not more we must learn concerning Christ’s return, but it appears we likely do have more to “see.” We know there is much that God has been revealing, in the manner that He has, which is due to a great spiritual war that continues right up to the coming of Jesus Christ. We have come to “see” (by experience and revelation from God) that God reveals to us what we need when we need it, especially during this end-time and the closing out of this age of mankind, with the process of bringing to an end Satan’s influence and rule in this world.
So what will he do Sunday or Monday when nothing has happened?  The time and date in Jerusalem is now the 27th and Jesus has not returned on Jerusalem time.

As the hours progressed this morning toward what we have looked to as a final countdown to Christ’s coming, there have been those things that have been flooding my mind that I have not wanted to address, but felt I should. I have experienced this every time in the past when God has begun revealing His will and purpose to me—revelation of more truth—understanding and clarification of truth already given.

We have indeed gone through many mixed feelings over the past few weeks as we have approached this Pentecost of 2012. The anticipation of such an event right up to the last minute reminds me of Abraham when he was about to follow through with the sacrifice of his own son. The feelings and emotion of such a time cannot be understood nor appreciated until having experienced something similar in faith. We now relate more to Noah than we ever did in the past. Such is pleasing to God that people remain faithful to the end when God intervenes to fulfill His word or to reveal another way. God revealed another way to Abraham. As I consider these truths, I understand the outrage that some will manifest by these words. I also understand the relief that God is giving me to “see” what He is revealing concerning “another way,” or an addition and clarification of “His way” to bring the end-time to a close.

By the end of this day, in the last time zone for this Sabbath day, if Jesus Christ has not begun his return to this earth, then we will do as a minister in the Netherlands said to me today concerning what God admonishes His people to do, “We move forward.” Indeed we will, for we know God’s Church.
More forward with what?  More lies and deceptive filth?  Scripture tells all the followers of Weinerdude that if he utters just once prophecy and it fails then he is to be labelled a false prophet and is not to be followed.  But his followers will continue on with him swallowing his filth as if it was God inspired.

So candidly, I am disappointed that Jesus Christ hasn’t begun his return. But I am also excited to know that there remains a short work in front of us. That will be explained in the Pentecost sermon that I will be organizing and prerecording as soon as I finish writing this post.
I wasn’t disappointed when God revealed to us that the two witnesses are not literally killed and then lie dead in the streets of Jerusalem for 3 ½ days. That revelation was easy to receive. That which God is now revealing is a little more difficult because we had our hope so set on Christ coming on this Pentecost. Knowing that he may not is indeed disappointing, but it is not something to shake our faith in any manner. Instead, we take the good with the bad and we move forward!

That which is most important is that we follow God where ever He leads and however He leads us. The reality is that due to what God is now revealing, I am also encouraged to see that much of what was written in 2008 – God’s Final Witness will become more meaningful and more powerfully revealed.

These things I am writing at this moment are being done so quickly in order to inform all God’s people that we are to “be strong and of good courage.” What we are living is not easy, but it is all for a very great purpose. Do not become discouraged, even though we know what is ahead will be difficult. People will have to face matters of employment, humility, finances, ridicule, etc., but we move forward ever thankful that the past 3 ½ years were not of great physical tribulation on this earth with the suffering it would have brought with it. But what is ahead is not easy. It will be difficult, but God will see us through.

Having said all this, I am now going to begin working on the Pentecost sermon that will be posted as soon as it is finished, just as this past Sabbath’s prerecorded sermon was posted. In this manner we can begin regrouping and refocusing on what lies ahead. Time passes and our hardships and trials will pass, and in all this God will be with you and give you the strength and intervention you need to move forward.

This Pentecost sermon will explain much. God has been merciful to us and has revealed so much to us over the past few years. He continues to do so. Wait on Him for He will not forsake us nor leave us.

Through all this my initial hope remains the same, as the sun has not set on the 26th in all the world. But if we must go forward, then so be it! God’s will be done.

It will be interesting to see how he lies to his followers on Pentecost.

Andrew On "The Importance of Knowing the Difference Between Fiction and Reality"

The Importance of Knowing the Difference Between Fiction and Reality

When I began the third grade, I started at a new school and became friends with two boys who were caught up playing a game in which they pretended to be chasing after some kind of comic-book style villain. The one who had obviously invented this game wanted me to play along with them, which I did at first. I don’t remember much, but supposedly this villain had different colored motorcycles, one for each day of the week. Every day he would invent new bad things this villain had supposedly done or was about to do, and clues that he had supposedly left behind that we could use to help us to stop him. After a few weeks or so, I quit because it had never been very relevant or entertaining. The whole thing struck me as being kind of stupid. After all, it was totally obvious he didn’t exist, and the targets of his plots were just as fictional. When I told him I wasn't interested in his imaginary villain anymore, he insisted that he was NOT imaginary. After several more weeks, he came around and finally admitted he had made it all up and agreed to stop playing this game so that we could be friends again. Either I was a little more mature than they were at the time, or else I was just a big party pooper.

I’ve never been into comic books myself, but I have been to see many of the movies in recent years based on them.  The difference is, whether they are just colored drawings or extremely lifelike up on the big screen with all the special effects, everybody knows that Batman and Joker are just fictional characters. Although some may continue to read comic books into adulthood, they don’t usually take time out of their day to look for ways to help Batman foil any of his enemies. They also don’t go to Travelocity.com and try to book a flight from their local airport to Gotham International. Most people don’t run into problems from consuming fictional stories because they have no problem distinguishing fiction from reality.

I suppose the first religion developed in the same way the motorcycle villain did, which is to say, some guy just invented it one day. It gave people a certain sense of security to believe that wild animals, the weather, and natural disasters were controlled by various people with extraordinary powers, and if you appeased them , they wouldn’t attack. It didn’t matter that the whole thing was made up, it meant there was something they could do to protect themselves. It gave people the feeling they could understand why bad things happened and that they could have some control over what would otherwise be random and uncontrollable disasters. Using science and technology, today we understand our environment so much better that we accept that natural disasters are truly random, although insurance companies still refer to them as acts of “god.” Polytheism has mostly outlived its usefulness, so most people now think it’s about as stupid as our motorcycle villain.

Mostly, but not completely. There are still many relics of these ancient religions around us today. Friday 13th, Halloween, ghosts, zombies, dowsing rods, astrology, palm reading, and other superstitions still persist. After all, it’s probably safer to avoid the curse at the bottom of that chain letter by forwarding it to ten of your friends, just to be on the safe side.

Perhaps the most widespread superstition to have persisted is called monotheism. Its success right up to the present day can probably be attributed to the fact that it has proved useful for giving believers a meaning and purpose for their lives. It doesn’t matter that there is no evidence that this meaning and purpose is not pure fiction, it still gives people the feeling that they can understand what is really happening and why they exist.

Whether it’s a villain imagined by a third-grader, ancient pagan gods, or else a single, all powerful super hero in the sky and his evil archnemesis, these are all “games” in which people either failed or refused to distinguish between fiction and reality. I’m somewhat ashamed to admit that I although I never fell for the first two “games,” in the case of the third one, I played along for decades before realizing that I had failed to distinguish between fiction and reality.

So, what if the failure to distinguish between fiction and reality means that adults engage in a little immaturity, playing a few childish games? What’s the harm?

We already have a human government that makes a tangled web of laws so intricate that it is impossible for even a lawyer to know all of them all, let alone obey them. Many of them are silly, others are even contradictory. When adults are caught up playing the game of religion, it includes having to support an entire second government of man as well, except they call it, “the government of god.” Under the administration of these men, it includes another impossible tangle of often silly and contradictory laws, yet more taxes, and yet more control. But since they tell you their religion has “set you free,” you don’t notice that you’re twice the slave you were before. If religion were something that was just between you and god, it wouldn’t be so bad.

Doesn’t religion teach you the principles of how to live? Sure, but the big principles of how to live are not unique to religion. The Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you,” was ubiquitous throughout the ancient world; it was even a part of Hammurabi’s civil code.

If religion only contained such pithy and profound wisdom as the Golden Rule, it wouldn’t seem so silly, but it doesn’t. It also imposes many useless, irrelevant, and sometimes downright bizarre practices, all of which are considered to be on the same level as the Golden Rule in terms of appeasing the anger of the god. Sure, I admit there’s some baby in there, but unfortunately, there’s an enormous amount of “holy” bathwater too, and the superstitious nature of religion makes it sacrilege to throw any of it out.

Isn’t religion a force for good, giving people the incentive to be moral people? German parents used to tell their children that if they misbehaved, fairies would kidnap them. That sure gave those children an incentive to behave too, but does anyone think this is also a good idea? As an adult, are you so weak that you need a “big brother” figure, spying on you 24-7 to guilt you into civilized behavior? Are you so small-minded that you need a hobgoblin to scare you into being a good person?

Also, whether morality is a force for good or bad depends upon what your definition of morality is. Islamist suicide bombers believe that murdering infidels is part of being a good, moral person because of the specifics of their religion. In response to such “morality,” Michael Shermer, the publisher of Skeptic Magazine, cites the case of superstitious Iraqi officials who bought 1,500 ADE 651 bomb detecting dowsing rods (at a cost of $40,000 each) to screen for explosives at checkpoints. Because the ADE 651 is as useful as a banana at detecting explosives, Shermer makes the point that sometimes, being unable to distinguish between fiction and reality costs lives. Religion is just another kind of superstition, and sometimes it costs lives too.

When William Miller, Herbert Armstrong, Harold Camping, Ron Weinland, and many others besides predict that an invisible man in the sky will sweep down and rapture the faithful away very soon, their followers don’t save for retirement. This superstition leaves the faithful destitute in their old age. Not only that, but seriously believing in such ideas is almost like going online to try to buy an airline ticket to Gotham International Airport.

Believing in an Armstrongist superstition also means wasting a great portion of your life in devotion to an imaginary man in the sky, week in, week out, year in, year out. Religious leaders will tell you that you can’t get divorced when you’ve made a mistake, and if you do, you can’t get remarried ever again. They tell you it is sinful to see a doctor when you have a life-threatening illness, so people die unnecessarily from treatable illnesses. All this and more because people can’t distinguish between fiction and reality.

It’s one thing if children want to play make believe games, but it’s entirely another when adults play such games. When we grow up, we really ought to put away such superstitions and concern ourselves with reality. Not to do so is not only juvenile, it is dangerous. Fiction of any kind is simply a bad foundation upon which to build a life or a society.
