HWA Banishment Letter To Rod Meredith 1980

This is in addition to the information that Apostle Malm is posting right now about Rod Meredith and how he was being picked on by the big meanies above him.

In reading HWA's letter to Meredith you quickly see where Meredith got his prideful, boastful and condescending attitude from.  HWA had to get in important information about himself and how humble he was while lambasting Meredith.  Meredith was  following the lead of his leader.

Dear Rod:

Your letters of February 1 and March 7 show, I am sorry to say, that either you still cannot understand WHY the living Head of God's Church, Jesus Christ, had you sent to Hawaii, or you are unwilling to see or admit — and I prefer to believe the former.

There is no point in telling you this letter is written in LOVE for YOU — for you ought to know that without my saying it. But out of love for you, and DESIRE to see you back as PART OF GOD'S TEAM, working in full co-operation and right attitude with the rest o[f] us; I shall take time and space to make it clear once for all this time.

I have tried to hold the mirror up for you to see yourself as others see you. But still you don't see in that mirror the same YOU that others see-or are unwilling — I hope not the latter. But now I must be SURE! I shall speak plainly, candidly. If this letter hurts, I quote from a letter the Apostle Paul sent to brethren at Corinth: "For though I made you angry with a letter, I do not repent... for I perceive that the same epistle hath made you sorry, though it were but for a season. Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance, for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

"For godly sorry worketh repentance to salvation ... but the sorrow of the world worketh death." (II Cor. 7:8-10).

Now I'm going to come with plainness of speech as Paul said — in I Corinthians 2.

To overseas audiences, and to Kings, Emperors, Presidents and Prime Ministers, I simmer down the WAY OF GOD and the WAY OF THE WORLD in two very small words — "GET" and "GIVE." This world is geared to the way of "GET." That is the way of VANITY, SELF-centeredness, coveting, lust and greed, jealousy and envy, rebellion against authority, competition which leads to strife, violence and war. The way of "GIVE" is OUT-flowing LOVE, harmonious co-operation, serving, helping, sharing, giving.

In spiritual PRINCIPLE, the latter is the way of God's Law, the Ten Commandments-the former the way of Satan. I tell them that ALL the Unsolvable problems, troubles and evils in the world are caused by the fact the world lives by the "GET" principle.

Rod, WHY have so many who have worked [with you] said that you rub the fur the [w]rong way? You are DOCTRINALLY correct., But in II Corinthians Paul says we are not to live by the strict letter of the Law, but by the SPIRIT or obvious INTENT — the basic PRINCIPLE of it (II Cor. 3:6). You are a model of doctrinal correctness according to the LETTER — the strictness of the letter — but you do overlook the SPIRIT from the heart. You won the mile in a state high-school meet, You had know[n,] as Satan injects into us all from childhood, the spirit of competition. You b[e]came a COMPETITOR. In conversion you learned and accepted the strictness of the letter of God's Commandments. You wrote a good booklet on the Ten Commandments. But now I hold the mirror up for you to see in yourself what SO MANY who know you well see in you — the SPIRIT of COMPETITION is still there!

You are not going to like this, Rod. Members of your family will resent it. But I am the chosen apostle of Jesus Christ and in His name, I have to say these things to you, for I want to have you with us IN GOD'S KINGDOM — and there will be no contentions — no spirit of competition there! No one is going to be there who strives for himself to take over the CHIEF SEAT!

Jesus Christ through me elevated you to the chief seat (which you had come to me suggestin[g] over the ministry of God's Church in what we then called CAD, you were a harsh task-master over the ministers. You, yourself, find it difficult and perhaps impossible to TAKE what you dished out. Dozens of ministers would testify to that. You rubbed the fur the wrong way! That has been your life-style!

In a sense, though I approved it at the time, you came to me [(]when Raymond Cole was trying to administer CAD from Eugene,[)] to jerk the rug out from under Raymond-and he feels that to this day. I knew, as did you, that CAD could not be handled from Eugene, and I approved your suggestion and put you in the driver's seat over the ministers of the Church when it was not yet so big.

When you were made second Vice President, it became a standing joke among leaders at Pasadena, the saying, "Well, after all, I am the second Vice President."

Jesus said, "And whosoever of you will be chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even th[e] Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister" (Mark 10:44-45). Jesus said further, "Beware of the scribes which wear long robes, ...and [love] the highest seats in the synagogue, and the chief rooms (offices-ranks-positions), at feasts" (Luke 20:46). Rod, am I qualified to call to your attention, these things? I came into the ministry more than fifty years ago, back in Oregon. I was never a member of the Church of God, Seventh Day, headquartered at Stanberry, Missouri. The church of Dugger and Dodd at Salem, W. Virginia, was an off-shoot, and, like Ted's present "church". Ray Cole's, and other's, NOT the true Church of God. However, I never became a member of the Salem offshoot. Half of the Oregon brethren (while all were in Stanberry) had incorporated as a separate church, "The Oregon Conference." I was ordained by them. Twice I was paid by them-about four months at $20 a week, and 15 mon[n]ths later, from February to July, 1933, at $3 per week.

But I did CO-OPERATE with the Stanberry people, from 1927 until ordained by the Oregon Conference, June, 1931-without salary, I co-operated with the Salem people after the start of the present Worldwide Church Of God (then called the Radio Church of God), and WITHOUT RECEIVING FROM THEM A PENNY OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT in any way, from 1934 (after both the World [T]omorrow radio program was going, and The PLAIN TRUTH was being published) until August, 1937. And after that, while building the present Church of God, Philadelphia era, I co-operated at my own expense with the Stanberry (Sardis era) people until October, 1945.

I DID NOT, as Ted claims (he was 5 years old when I ceased the co-operation with them because of the pressure of the Work in the present Church of God). I did not leave them to start something of my own. I continued working with them-GIVING, not getting-at my own exp[e]nse co-operating — GIVING — as long as my time allowed.

But the point I want to make is this: I SERVED — I HELPED — I co-operated. And I did not have or seek any high position. I always considered myself, just as the Sardis ministers did, that I was the LEAST of the ministers-the TAIL-ENDER!

When I conducted the campaign in the Firbute school house (36 seats) in 1933, I stopped receiving even the $3 per week salary from the Oregon Conference.

As the tail-end LEAST of the ministers, Christ started me in that little 36-seat school house, I constantly suffered persecution-first from Stanberry ministers, then again from Salem, W. Va.-ministers, then again from Stanberry. The 19 members we had from that Firbutte campaign was the START of the present Worldwide Church of God. The brethren at the start were my own converts-my own children in the Lord. NEVER in all my ministerial experience, I once sought a higher position.

Jesus Christ gave me the Pastor position at the start. The Church grew, as I held other campaigns in Eugen[e] and in Alvadore. Finally I appointed and ordained two other elders, one a preaching elder and one a local elder, at Eugene, beside two deacons. In those early years of this, our present Church, I served as pastor of a Stanberry church near Jefferson, Oregon. There I appoin[t]ed and ordained two elders, and two deacons — for THEIR church. All the time I "GAVE" — I did not "GET." Before that I had learned how Paul says, in II Corinthians 3:6, that we must obey the SPIRIT or obvious INTENT of the Law, not the letter. I had dedicated my life to "GIVE" and not to "GET." As the Work grew, Christ used me in founding Ambassador College. After their graduation I ordained m[y] son Dick, Raymond Cole, Herman Hoeh, Raymon[d] Mc Nair and his brother. From there you know the history, Your uncle and yourself came along about next, then others. I ne[v]er sought or moved up to a higher rank or office. Jesus Christ raised up the Church through me. I came to the position I hold as the simple result of what the living Head of this Church raised up through me.

But others have sought higher Position. There has been, it seems, NO END of worldly POLITICS at Pasadena Headquarters. As Christ blessed and prospered God's Church and Work, and we came to have better than $100,000,000 of net worth, and a near $80 million a year income, there devel[o]ped a mad scramble for ever higher and higher rank. Sure, I made some mistakes. I naively TRUSTED men like Al Portune, David Antion, my own son, Wayne Cole, many others no longer with us. But now, f[o]r the first time since about 1967, there is HARMONY and a spirit of Co-oper[a]tion at Pasadena. AND I AM DETERMINED TO KEEP IT THAT WAY!

Now back to you.

You have demonstrated, as seen clearly by many others, a spirit of rank-consciousness. In plain language that is coveting higher authority. I do not think you have coveted more money. I do not think more money is what Ted, Al Portune, Dave Antion, Ray Cole, Wayne or others really coveted. They coveted POWER — more authority — like a 15-year old boy coveting the POWER of a steering wheel and a throttle. We have gone through a House CLEANING. We now have PEACE and CO-OPERATION at Pasadena. And eight to ten others on the executive level there have voiced to me their fears and convictions that if you now come back to Pasadena, that PEACE, and HARMONY, and CO-OPERATION will be turned once again into constant contention, irritation, and HARM TO GOD'S WORK! I do not like to tell you this. I haven't mentioned this to all, but to those I mentioned your return, that is the unanimous feeling.

If I have you come back as Dean of the Faculty, several say you would delegate most or the real duties of the Dean, and devote yourself to trying to make yourself the LEADER and boss of the College, and even of the Chur[ch.] You have — and all are aware of it — been possessed with the idea that I will not live much longer, and that YOU are the "FIRST among equals" to take my place.

Rod, in frankest candor, JESUS CHRIST will NEVER put any one at the head of His Work on earth who is competitive, covetous of power and status, and [self-righteous]. In brutal frankness, you lack the charisma to lead God's work You do not attract-as I said before, you REP[EL-] people. You are a harsh taskmaster over those under you. THAT IS YOUR RECORD!

When I wr[o]te you [<uncertain>] that a change of ATTITUDE is needed, perhaps I have at last made myself clear.

You have said that you only said a few statements you probably should not have made, but you didn't think you had said enough to warrant this six months' leave of absence. Rod, I'm very well aware of the amount of words you said against Christ's chosen apostle. But Jesus said, "of the abundance of the heart (attitude) the mouth speaketh." What you did say, affirmed to me by two witnesses, was sufficient, coupled with many other things, to show me the [a]ttitude back of those words. You try to c[o]nvince me of how glowingly and how numerous were the times you have shown loyalty by the things you have said "hundreds" or "thousands of times". But in this regard your attitude reflected [<uncertain>] OMISSION rather than the sparse and sparing things you did say. Ted was leading a conspiracy to destroy my credibility before the ministers and the brethren by saying nothing about me — as if the human leader did not exist — and blowing himself up. Radio and TV programs went under his name-no longer The World [T}omorrow. He even started correspondence under HIS OWN [Letter head] NAME, rather than that of the Church or College. Now I do not want any of our ministers flattering me, or trying to see how often they can mention my name.

But neither do I want it deliberately AVOIDED in both speaking and writing, as if I did not exist. Jesus Christ — NOT MAN — has made me the human leader under Christ. A leader cannot be a leader if all under him IGNORE his very existence. I never did want anyone to go out of his way deliberately to mention me — as you profess to have done. That is not what I mean. But I do not want the other extreme, caused by a competitive feeling, and deliberate non-mention.

Now another thing you cover in your letters. You imply that in what few things you did say, you were FOLLOWING MY ORDERS. Rod, that is hypocrisy. It is not a matter that I CHANGED MY MIND. Let me tell you how it [ac]tually was. When I told you and Raymond, and perhaps another or two, that IF I were no longer among the living, I wanted you to be su[re] Ted did not slip in and take over. At that time, I had heard SO MUCH talk about my dying right away, perhaps started by Ted, that for a while I was overly conscious of it.

It is not that later I changed my mind. But as time went on I began to realize very deeply that God has not prepared ANYONE to take my place. You, Rod, could never take it. I know that is 100% contrary to your own estimate of yourse[l]f. You have a WILL to lead, but not the qualifications. I came to realize that God raise[d] me [from the dead-f]rom total heart failure-in August, 1977, FOR A PURPOSE.

I have felt like the Apostle Paul, when he said earlier in life it would be more profitable for him to depart this life — and in the next split-second of consciousness, be with Christ in the resurrection, but it was more needful that he stay.

I did not CHANGE my mind. I did come to realize, as God caused me to realize, that He had raised me up as His instrument to raise up His present Church and Work — and that Work is not finished. So after my heart had completely stopped, my breath — no pulse — no blood-pressure — by mouth-to-mouth resuscitation I was br[o]ught back. I have not said I now believe God will keep me alive until Christ comes. I have said and I say now again, I do believe He will keep me alive AS LONG AS HE NEEDS ME!
You have taken the attitude that "some one GOT [you]." No one did but your own self.

I have tried here to make clear what I mean by a CHANGE OF ATTITUDE. I sincerely hope you "get the message" this time. Self-pity is not your need. A change of ATTITUDE from "GET" to "GIVE" is! If this letter does not get through to you, I shall not try again. So far you have not admitted a wrong attitude. Your RIGHTEOUSNESS you have maintained! But it has been only so much "filthy rags" to GOD! God said-rather, Christ to His disciples, that he who would seek the top seat should be the SERVANT of all. We should be as a little child.

So far, four months or more of your leave of absence has profited you NOTHING! Rod, in a candor, HAVE YOU EVER REALY REPENTED? To repent means much more than being sorry, or remorseful. It means a CHANGE OF HEART — a CHANGE OF ATTITUDE — a CHANGE FROM "GET" TO "GIVE." From competition, vanity, coveting power and position, to harmonious co-operation. BELIEVE ME, there is PEACE, and HARMONY at Pasadena now. Our men there do not want it disturbed. I have held up the mirror with BRUTAL frankness-in LOVE not only for you but also for GOD'S WORK! The Work is getting along wonderfully well now-without you. It can go on growing and pleasing Jesus Chris[t] an[d] prospering under His blessing WITHOUT YOU. I have written you are not coming back until I am CONVINCED BY THE FRUITS of a real REPENTANCE, and CHANGE OF ATTITUDE. I hope at last I have MADE IT PLAIN.

Aaron Dean, Herbert Armstrong’s Personal Aide, Confirms Accuracy of Above Letter on the alt.religion.w-w-church-god Forum, January 8, 1999:

I have nothing to hide and don't mind if people ask what HWA thought. Some have asked and I have answered these same questions before. People should not be allowed to rewrite their own histories to their own ends.

What happened in GCG is precisely why I couldn't join Global. I wish I had been wrong. If it will help people find God and Christ instead of men, feel free to use my post. It will probably bring some hate mail, but I have gotten use to it as I am sure some of you are. I wish people could become zealous instead of zealots. I have found you can become zealous for God, but only zealots for men.

That is the letter that was in Mr. Armstrong's files. HWA did talk to not only RCM [Roderick C. Meredith], but others about how he was wrong about Stan [Rader]. Mr. A didn't apologize to people, and had other ways of apologizing—some of which could be misinterpreted. His discussion with Rod about SRR [Stanley R. Rader], I imagine Rod took to be an apology. Of course he wanted to see it this way. To RCM it seemed either he was right or SRR was right. Since SRR turned out to be a 'bad guy' RCM assumed he was vindicated. This helps to justify why he maintains he should be in charge. He never understood the issue was not about him and SRR, but him seeing himself as next in line.

It did not change RCM's problem, as you can see from the letter RCM's problems stemmed from well before SRR. The fact that HWA never reappointed RCM to a position of power shows that he knew RCM still had the problem. The COE [Council of Elders] was never a power body, although many seemed to see it as that.

RCM took the fact that those he disliked (and it is interesting to note they were always the ones between him and the top) turned out to have problems, so it seemed a vindication of his problem. Mr. Armstrong still felt the same way about RCM up until his death.

One thing HWA did say, was that "Rod will be personally loyal to me" (HWA). Of course RCM wanted that same loyalty to himself, never realizing that what HWA really wanted was loyalty to GOD. That is why HWA, amid the confusion of the receivership did appoint RCM over Church Administration in '79.

Unfortunately RCM began immediately to try to solidify his position as heir to the church, and had to be removed within the year, and was never reappointed to a high administrative position. It was RCM's own words that caused him to be sent to Hawaii, not anyone else. I pray that he eventually can come to see himself, just as I pray for so many other self appointed leaders.

Apostle Malm on Rod Meredith

The Apostle has started a series of articles detailing, as he assumes, the infiltration of evangelicalism into the Worldwide Church of God under Tkach Sr.  Malm's article is filled with some truth, lots of half truths and several blatant lies.

One of his lies is his description of Rod Meredith and his banishment to Hawaii.  While it may be partially true that Rader was behind part of that decision, HWA was the one who made the final decision after countless complaints by Church members and ministers on how Meredith was treating them.

When Meredith was over Church Administration he ruled with a heavy hand that was filled with viciousness at times.  Meredith tended to be very vindictive towards many members and to many ministers.  Meredith was still living in the 1950's mode of the Church in the 1970-1980's.  Hard line  legalistic control was his weapon of choice.

Meredith broke up hundreds of marriages, disfellowshipped countless people, and made life miserable for most who came into contact with him.  The reports were constantly crossing HWA's desk which ended up culminating in his banishment to Hawaii. 

Rod and Malm like to blame it all on Stanley Rader.  While Rader found Meredith to be a condescending jerk, it was not Rader that sent him off to a year of luxury in Hawaii, expenses paid.

The Apostle writes:

Rod Meredith has been called a tyrant by his enemies [as part of a political struggle] and much has been said about him that is in error and uncalled for.

To set the record straight;  Rod was removed and sent to Hawaii [by Stan Rader]  because of his loyalty to HWA and Herbert’s post 1974 teachings, in the same manner that C Wayne Cole was fired for his loyalty to HWA at the beginning of the Receivership.  They were both victims of the Rader struggle to defend himself from the lawsuit investigation; and later on [in Rod's case] Rader’s efforts to take full control of the WCG.

Rod Meredith is an Armstrong loyalist with something of HWA’s leadership style.  Yes he is a dominating authoritrian leader;  but he is by far the closest to the post 74 HWA doctrinal teachings. (Note that the die-hard Armstrong loaylists are now movign the date

 He was removed from that position to be replaced by Joe Tkach, in a Rader power grab designed to replace any HWA loyalist heading the ministry with his own man.  Rod was then sent to Hawaii to remove him from any influence on any in the ministry, until Tkach could get well settled in and start promoting those persons with his evangelical agenda.   (Meredith's banishment letter to Hawaii is in the next post)  Tkach at this point in time was having to clean up the trail of destruction that Meredith had left in his wake.  Tkach had no idea how much damage Meredith had done till Rod was ensconced in Hawaii.

As for Rod being a tyrant; he was loyal to HWA and his post 74 teachings; and those who were strong HWA loyalists supported him, while of course those who were of the evangelical persuasion hated his insistence on adhering to the post 74 HWA teachings.

 It still amazes me after all these years the number of people that want to white wash Rod Meredith as a wholesome, godly person who walks in humility before God.  Ask most people that had to work around him in Pasadena and they will tell you otherwise.

Apostle Malm is still under the impression that COGWA will eventually unite with Living Church of God and that the  only thing holding them back is the leadership issue.

COGWA was formed for the very purpose of loyalty to the Armstrong post 74  teachings; and it is quite natural that they would align themselves with Meredith’s LCG.  This process is ongoing and LCG has been working to set the conditions for a rapprochement between the two groups. 

While Tkach was no innocent party in this matter, Meredith is not the poor picked upon servant of God.  Far from it!

The Magnetism of Charismatic Public Speakers

There is no doubt that some human beings have charisma.  Herbert W. and Garner Ted Armstrong both had that quality.  Public speaking with a sense of authority can be very captivating.  Apparently the "apostle" Paul
had that same quality, because his writings or speeches have influenced a multitude of people.  Some sources actually state that some of the writings attributed to Paul were penned not by Paul, but by unknown sources.
Nevertheless, it is true that the voice of some human beings is very captivating.  This is true of many who sing and have beautiful voices.  Politicians and preachers have a lot in common in that they seek to influence
people to see their point of view.

There is indeed something in the human voice that can persuade others, even when that voice is propaganda or not true.  The "news" media and movies are powerful agents of persuasion, even though the astute know
beyond doubt that these sources are major players in the world of disinformation, falsehoods and out and out lies in many ways.  Those who control the "news" and movie industries are not naive and gullible about the
power in their hands to persuade.  It has been said that if a lie is told often enough, that lie is believed by many to be "truth."  It then becomes next to impossible to persuade people that the lie they have believed as being "truth" is really a lie.  Many will think that a lie is truth and that real truth is a lie as a result of being brainwashed.

When you listen to a public speaker it is easy to believe that what they are saying is the "truth."  This is more than evident as many listening to the "World Tomorrow" radio broadcast of the Worldwide Church of God
found that they accepted and believed what Herbert W. or Garner Ted said on those programs.  Believing what public speakers say often causes people to become followers of those who speak.  It is not only true in the world of religions and religious beliefs, but also in the world of politics.  There is indeed a magnetism in many people that will cause many others to follow those individuals.  It matters not whether the magnetic personality is "Christian" or not, people will fall in line and become believers in charismatic and persuasive personalities.

The obvious danger in thinking that persuasive personalities and public voices are somehow the voice of "truth" is that many have been led astray by wolves in sheep's clothing.  A voice can seem believable, but that does not necessarily make that voice truth.  Some voice was the beginning of the Roman Catholic Church, another voice was the origin of the Mormon Church, and yet another voice was the origin of the Jehovah Witnesses.  It goes on and on endlessly.  The voice of Herbert W. Armstrong was the origin of the Worldwide Church of God.  Another voice was the origin of the Seventh Day Adventist group and yet another voice was the origin of "The Family" (or the "Children of God"), which was the deceased David Berg.  Every voice that originates a church or religious group eventually returns to dirt and ends in the grave yard.

There was a voice that initiated the Methodist Church, another that was the origin of the Baptist Church and yet another that is the voice of the Pentecostal group.  Another voice is Amish, another Mennonite and another voice that of the "Sacred Name" groups.  These voices are like the sand upon the seashores and they are many.  The same is true of the splinter groups of the original Worldwide Church of God.  One voice is that of Rod Meredith, and another that of Gerald Flurry and yet another that of David Pack, and the voices are many.

That anyone would follow any of these voices is really quite astonishing, from the stand point that all these voices are mere human beings who are all without exception very fallible and subject to human nature the same as all other human beings.  No man or woman is God and yet millions worship at the feet of these charismatic public speakers as if there are.  A MAJOR mistake!  Like lemmings multitudes of human beings rush headlong over the bluff and drown in the sea of false beliefs, following their human leader who is also self-deceived and indoctrinated by his or her teachers.

The Worldwide Church of God has led many into destruction as lemmings.  The problem with human lemmings is that they follow men instead of Jesus Christ.

Are Weather Issues A Result of God Punishing the English Speaking Nations?

With all the tornadoes, earthquakes and other disasters that  have been in the news over the last several months; the various COG's have been kicked into a frenzy of "prophecy in action" articles and postings.  Due to the non-provable belief in British Israelism, these COG's feel that it is God taking his wrath out on the lost 12 tribes.  One person who harps on this worn out line constantly is Prophet Thiel.

He writes:

Perhaps the record weather problems can serve as another wake-up call. As my book indicated, weather-related troubles with their related food issues, of course, are biblically expected as Jesus stated:

7…And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows. (Matthew 24:7-8).
8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be earthquakes in various places, and there will be famines and troubles. These are the beginnings of sorrows. (Mark 13:8)

We may be at this prophetic point as all the earthquakes and other weather problems that have happened in the past year or so could be considered as “troubles.”
Much is going on that we in the Living Church of God have expected would happen. For example, LCG’s Dr. Roderick C. Meredith, who expect certain prophetic issues to rise up this year, years ago wrote a booklet related to coming weather problems titled Who Controls the Weather?
2012 is already been a turbulent year.

The Seventh Day Churches of God (COGs) believe that natural diasters are fulfilling Bible prophecy of the end-times. Can this view be supported by the data on natural disasters?

The COGs also believe that the white English-speaking peoples are descended from the twelve tribes of Israel and that these nations are being punished by natural disasters because they once knew the God of the Bible and rejected him and his truth. Is it true that these nations are suffering from natural disasters worse than other nations?

The English-speakers are not believed to be all of the tribes, just the leading tribes. The COGs believe the other tribes migrated to Northwestern Europe or remained in Judea (Palestine). In this article I will use refer to any nations the COGs regard as part of the twelve tribes as "Israel" and call the rest of the world "Gentiles".

Severity and Frequency
 
The COGs have been saying that both the severity and frequency of disasters is increasing in accord with Bible prophecy. So we will look at both the severity and frequency of disasters. Proving that neither one or the other is increasing should be enough to get open minded people to do a serious re-think about COG prophecy.

Looking at some "worst-ever disasters" lists is easy to do and shows no evidence that the severity of disasters is increasing as time goes on. 

First, let's look at the frequency, i.e. are disasters getting more common with time? [Keep in mind that I researched this article and wrote it up in 2010 so the lists could have changed since, but the main trends should be the same].

1. Six of the 10 deadliest-ever natural disasters were before 1950.
2. Four of the 10 deadliest natural disasters of the last 100 years (1910 to 2010) were in the first half of that time period (1910 to 1960).
3. Five of the 10 deadliest-ever tornadoes happened since 1969 (but none were in the last 20 years).
4. Five of the 10 deadliest-ever storms were in the 1800's.
5. Five of the 10 deadliest-ever blizzards were before 1975 and five since then.
6. Nine of the 10 deadliest-ever tsunamis were in 1908 or earlier.
7. Nine of the 10 deadliest-ever volcanic eruptions were in 1919 or earlier.
8. Four of the 10 deadliest-ever cyclones were in the 1800's.
9. Seven of the 10 deadliest-ever earthquakes were in 1976 or earlier (though two were since 2004).
10. Of the 20 deadliest-ever famines, 17 were before 1950 (even though world population has skyrocketed since then).

Now, let's look at where the worst disasters occured.

1. Not one of the 10 deadliest-ever natural disasters took place in "Israel", all were in "Gentile" countries.
2. Not one of the 10 deadliest natural disasters of the last 100 years were in "Israel", all were in "Gentile" countries.
3. Nine of the 10 deadliest-ever tornadoes were in Gentile countries.
4. Eight of the 10 deadliest-ever storms were in "Israel."
5. Five of the 10 deadliest-ever blizzards were in the USA, but the death toll in the 1972 Iran blizzard far surpassed all of them combined.
6. Nine of the 10 deadliest-ever tsunamis did not strike any Israelite countries (the one that did also struck Gentiles).
7. Nine of the 10 deadliest-ever volcanic eruptions struck Gentiles.
8. All 10 of the 10 deadliest-ever cyclones were in Gentile countries.
9. Of the 70 deadliest-ever earthquakes, 69 were in Gentile countries. One was in the USA. It was ranked last (least destructive).
10. 19 of the 20 deadliest-ever famines were in "Gentile" countries.

Here's a story...I was contacted by a friend of mine in Washington State a while back. She was upset because a certain favorite minister there was being replaced by another minister. She told me that the replacement minister had announced that,"I've come to whip all you into shape. Your all Laodiceans!" This minister was so obnoxious and vain, he was coming up with so many insane ideas. My friend told me this minister was training the congregation on how to make a "perfect pot of coffee" because only Jesus Christ would accept THIS MINISTERS perfect pot of coffee. This man and his wife have a daughter in Imperial Academy. The daughter was caught cheating, (because her mother or someone was giving her the answers online), but they were not suspended or disfellowshipped. The teacher was reprimanded though for accusing the girl of cheating. This minister has several children that have graduated from Armstrong College and this family has a prosperous family business that helps fund the Philadelphia Church of God. The other minister was just "recycled" and sent to headquarters. People not found contributing to the "pot" are out! What is that scripture/scriptures?: James 2:2, Acts 10:34, etc. It's all about money with this cult!

Banks Refusing To Loan Money To Dave Pack

Silenced is reporting in it's article Delusions of the Pack that Dave Pack has failed to secure funding of his mini-me monument to himself.

According to sources who wish to remain anonymous, Pack has revised the start date for construction on his personal shrine. He cannot borrow additional funds from the bank for the project, resulting in a renewed grovelling for member donations. RCG tried to borrow about 50 percent of it’s required funding, and now that the cult can’t get financing, Pack insists he never borrows money.

We have come to the spring of the year when the first two of the seven annual Holy Day offerings arrive. I do not need to tell all of you veteran members how important are these yearly “spikes” in our income. In what we have been describing as our “austerity year,” because we must (and are able to) pay for the entire building project cash-the banks are terrified of lending to any but their most established borrowers, and we never borrow anything-these Holy Day offerings become more crucial than ever. We can all understand why. Please go to God, at least once if not more, before preparing each of your Holy Day offerings. Consider making the decision on your knees. Ask God to give you the FAITH and the COURAGE-and the VISION of the world as it is and the great need to reach it with Christ’s “kingdom of God” announcement and the “Ezekiel warning” to the nations of Israel-before settling on a “number.”

Since he has failed to secure funding will he be able to open his completed campus in one year in April of 2013?  Has he told another lie or will gullible members mortgage their homes and businesses to fund this abomination?

Apostle Malm Health Crisis

Apostle Malm updates his health condition: 

As far as editing is concerned, please remember that I am in an advanced stage of diabetes with serious eye problems; I have no help on this effort and I am now reaching the point where I am almost too blind to do this work at all; and I do not get enough support to hire an editor or secretary. Prophet Thiel: There Is A Planet Waiting Just For You!

Prophet Thiel, the official spokesperson for Living Church of God has this to say about current research that tells of billions of inhabitable planets.

What might be the purpose of all the planets in the universe?
Notice the following passage from Hebrews:

6 But one testified in a certain place, saying:  “What is man that You are mindful of him, Or the son of man that You take care of him?  7 You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, And set him over the works of Your hands.  8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”
For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him. 9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.
10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.  (Hebrews 2:6-10)

So, the entire universe was made for humankind, but is not yet under human subjection, but will be first under Jesus.  And then, later under humankind.
So, resurrected humans will at some time rule all the planets of the universe.

From those scriptures the Prophet deduces that you will be given a planet.  Wait, not YOU specifically, since most of you are heretics, but TRUE COG members down through the centuries.

Lest you fail to see that TRUE COG members will be ruling planets the Prophet adds this as further proof:

33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end. (Luke 1:33)
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end…(Isaiah 9:6-7)

Given Prophet Thiel's well thought out logic, I wonder if he considered the following, since he takes all scripture as literal.

Since scripture says there will be neither male nor female in the kingdom, how does he predict all these billions of galaxies will be inhabited?  Who is going to be produce all those kids?  Neither male nor female.....hum.

IF, and IF, we are being sent to rule over our own planet, will the familial structure be broken up?  What about your wife and her family?  Is she doomed to be separated from them because they have their own planet?  With whom does Scruffy the dog go with when he is resurrected? Will your kids be sent off to planets billions of miles away to rule over their own world?  Where will those inhabitants come from?

If, as LCG and other COG claim, the Temple of God will be established again in Jerusalem with its sacrifices in praise of God, how will the city accommodate hundreds of billions of people flocking to it on specific days? Even if one designated male from each of the billions of planets flew down to Jerusalem there still is too many people.  All those burning sacrifices from that many people would burn the City and Temple up!

Logic never seems to enter the picture in COG thought.

Dale Schurter has finally reemerged from Dave Pack's reeducation camp where he has learned to think in accordance with Dave's will.  Eyes were anointed, again.  New ways of seeing things are now implemented.

We can now vividly see the fulfillment of prophecy marching on, with the massive earthquakes of yesterday affecting nations on the shores of the entire Indian Ocean: “BANDA ACEH, Indonesia – Two massive earthquakes [measuring 8.6 and 8.2 on the Richter scale] triggered back-to-back tsunami warnings for Indonesia on Wednesday, sending panicked residents fleeing to high ground in cars and on the backs of motorcycles” (Associated Press).

Then again today, more earthquakes in places such as Mexico and the Oregon coast. This should bring to mind Jesus Christ’s words for our time: “…and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in diverse (different) places” (Matt. 24:7).

Friends and brethren, it is high time we fully open our eyes, hearts and minds to the reality we ARE living in the last days. And, not only that, but especially that we are living at the very end of the entire Church age! Do we individually really GRASP this truth?

To be straight forward, the Bible is INK on PAPER.  That will offend many because they are led to believe that the Bible is the "word of God", infallible and inerrant and totally inspired by God.  None of us were living when whoever penned the many different parts of the Bible were penned.  We have no idea who really penned the various parts of the Bible, or who altered the writings purported to be "original."    Just because a particular book of the Bible has been assigned a name, does not mean that we really know that such a person really penned those words.    Studious researchers always think they know the answers, but we are thousands of years removed from the time and the language or languages of the time the Bible material was penned.

The Bible did not always exist.  It was compiled from the writings (and who knows how many times edited) of many sources.  Parts of it, if not all of it are said to be penned years after the fact.  Another words, it is said by some that many of the books of the Bible were actually penned much later than is commonly believed.  Humans will forever argue over Bible issues and most likely never know the absolute truth.  There is most likely no greater means to control human beings than through religion.  Invent religion, instill fear in people and cause the masses to submit and obey the rulers.  It is the oldest con game in human history.  Is the Bible then "mind control?"  What if it is and you don't know it?

One thing is for sure and that is that God Almighty/Jesus Christ has NEVER appeared to you or to me or to anyone in our day and age, in person, in a visible and physical form and communicated so much as one word.  Therefore God has NEVER told any of us individually what is and what is not TRUTH.    Of course we can read in INK on PAPER that some make the claim that God did in fact communicate with them, such as Noah, but how do we know that it really happened?  If we are totally truthful, we don't know.  We were not there and we are not witnesses in person that it was so.  We can be emotionally attached to the belief that God spoke to Noah, but just because we read it in INK on PAPER, does not make it automatically truthful.  What if it is a myth?

How do you as a Bible reader know whether you have been subjected to "mind control" as a result of the Bible?  In the New Testament you are led to believe that some character named Paul (formerly Saul), was so significant that the writings attributed to him, are totally inspired by God.  What if in fact this man named "Paul" was a fraud, not an "apostle" and in fact did not even write all the books, epistles or letters attributed to him?  If you read widely from many sources, you will in fact learn that many actually believe this is so.

How do you know that the books entitled "Peter" (First Epistle Of Peter) and Second Epistle of Peter were in fact penned by the UNEDUCATED fisherman called Peter, who was a disciple of Jesus, and not some other Peter of unknown origin?  And why would Peter (the fisherman) make the claim that the writings of some man called "Paul" were "scripture", as if inspired by God?  Perhaps there is actually much more that went on behind the scenes than most people will ever know.

Is there in fact a hidden agenda or more than one hidden agenda in the writings of the so called "Bible?"  What does control, power and free money for ever have to do with such sayings as "obey those who have the rule or
authority over you?"  What part does FEAR play in the role of control?  Are there ulterior motives behind much of the writings in the Bible?  How does anyone separate truth and fact from myth, fiction, fear-mongering and
out and out deception, in the name of God, Lord or Jesus Christ?  No one but the most simple minded of people would not ask questions and probe for answers to obvious and glaring issues of the Bible.

The difference between Jesus Christ and the fraud in the Bible, is that Jesus was pure in heart, came to make truth known, and had no ulterior motives.  On the other hand there have always been LYING SCRIBES, false prophets and deceivers who make the claim "thus saith the Lord", "God commanded" or "God inspired" or "God anointed" and so forth, when He did not.    Religion is man made.  LOVE is of God.

Undeniable PROOF That JC Will Return To Earth Exactly 2,000 Years After His Death

Here is a new moron that has predicted the year Christ will be returning.  Apparently this guy finished his new book on the last day of the Feast of Tabernacles.  So who is this new prophet?  Prophet Gabriel.  Gabriel Ansley.

Gabriel was born December 25, 1970 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  At 12 years of age, in a certain church for the first time, he was picked out and told by a traveling prophet preaching there (who had never met him!) that his name was Gabriel, and that God had given him that name.  The prophet proceeded to tell him he would be like John the Baptist in the last days preparing the people to meet the Lord, for God would place him in a position one day to be able to influence multitudes of people!

Over 25 years later and after many supernatural visitations and revelations from God that DAY has finally arrived; for the prophetic Word of the Lord came unto Gabriel in the year AD 2007.  Instructed by God to write down the message he had received, Gabriel quit his job and dutifully set out to complete the task.  Twenty months later, the book Undeniable Biblical Proof Jesus Christ Will Return To Planet Earth Exactly 2,000 Years After The Year Of His Death is the result.  In stunning fulfillment of the traveling prophet's words above, Gabriel's message now calls out in the loving, yet earnest, spirit of the Baptist (like all true prophets of God) to REPENT of your sins before it is too late!

He has determined the year Christ is returning.  This date cannot be changes since it was established from the foundation of the world, even though he says "somewhere between...."  I wouldn't call that being really precise.  That's a pretty impotent God that could not figure out the exact day 6,000 years down the line.

Long story short, when the nation of Israel amazingly, against-all-odds, came back on the map again in AD 1948 (after almost 1,900 years of non-existence) the Fig Tree in Jesus’ parable above had put forth her leaves!  Thus, Jesus was declaring, “The generation of people that sees this happen will not pass (or all die) before my 2nd Coming occurs!”

So how long is this generation of people?  Are you ready for this?  The answer is contained in the SAME Psalm of Moses where God first revealed the prophetic length of a day in His master time plan:

“For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past … The days of our years are threescore years and ten (70 years); and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years (80 years), yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we FLY AWAY” (Psalms 90:4-10).

There you have it, folks … 80 years added to 1948 yields AD 2028!  THAT is the last possible year on our current Gregorian calendar that Jesus Christ could return to Earth and still fulfill the words of his parable above.  And isn’t it mind-blowing to realize 2,000 years earlier (from that future year) yields AD 28 on our current Gregorian calendar, which is a highly respected year among scholars for Christ’s death!  Friend, I cannot say it any louder or clearer … JESUS CHRIST IS COMING BACK TO EARTH VERY SOON!  And it will be somewhere between AD 2026 to AD 2028, with AD 2028 looking very likely—which means the final 7 year tribulation period will begin somewhere around AD 2021.

Friend, Jesus Christ’s 2nd Coming cannot be hastened or delayed.  It is a set time!

God cannot and will not change His prophetic Biblical Word, and He will NEVER be found a liar.  Therefore, Jesus Christ will return to planet Earth during mankind’s 6,000th year! 

Gabe had a miraculous vision on the Sabbath, December 8, 2007, where God revealed the true meaning about the Bible:

"...on a Sabbath morning, Saturday December 8, 2007, the
Lord first revealed the true meaning of the Bible to me. Oh, but that was
not the end of it, for more revelations continued to happen. For months

Apostle Malm: It is Entirely Possible To Sinless In This Lifetime

Three absurd comments from the Apostate Apostle Malm today:

When persecution or trials come our way; we MUST trust and rely upon our Great God and GO FORWARD in HIS ways; not compromising no m,atter what the physical cost, that we may deliver ourselves in the resurrection to spirit at the end of the sixth day.

If we do not do so now, very many of us will soon  have to do so in the furnace of real affliction.  Indeed, who can say that if they sin today, they will not die tonight?  Our focus is always to be on the things of God and not on the things of this world.

THE PEN IS MIGHTIER THAN BULLETS

The pen is mightier than bullets is not an original thought, because many human beings have long realized this is true throughout history.  Exposure is one thing those in power hate.  Light penetrates the darkness.    Darkness hates the light of truth.  In the world of government, whistleblowers are now deemed "criminals."  Truth bearers are often targeted as "insane" human beings, "nut cases" and generally dismissed as rather stupid people.  Those who speak truth are often laughed at and scorned as if they are a little looney.  This is nothing new.  Jesus Christ often said "you have heard that it has been said" and would then proceed to speak "but I say unto you" and then He would speak a totally different concept about life.  For example Jesus said "you have heard that it has been said an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, but I say unto you, turn the other cheek" and so forth.  So who was it that originally said "an eye for an eye?"  Apparently it was not God.

Those who wield power over others always and forever live in fear that they will lose their power.    Why is it that the president of the United States always has the motive to be reelected?  Men can speak volumes of words and they frequently do, but it is not what men say, but rather the fruit of their lives that speaks volumes.    If the words promote war and more war and more war and more war endlessly, does that not speak the truth of the heart of those in power?  Jesus taught "love your neighbor as you love yourself."  Going to church is nothing.  Living by love is everything.    The excuse for endless wars is often to demonize the ruler of the targeted nation, and the end result is the death and destruction of civilization and the theft of oil and resources of those demonized.    We are not all so gullible as to believe the "news" media and what they spew forth 24/7.  The agents of mass propaganda fool many, but not all.

In the world of cult religious groups such as the Worldwide Church of God and its many splinter groups, exposure to their corruption is considered "persecution."  Only the simple minded are fooled.  Those in power know that they must control the people through FEAR and unfortunately it works.  Like the Titanic, cults are sinking ships and the only ones to be saved are those in life boats.  The life boat is to exit being controlled and dominated by fake and false "pastors" and "elders" who have a pretense of representing God on earth.  They don't!  If you have a brain and you do, then its purpose is think for yourself and not bow to those who only want to control your thinking and devour your pocketbook.

Is Your Body Leaking The Holy Spirit? Dave Pack Thinks So

The insanity continues to flow from Dave Pack and crew. Pack claims you can have God's Holy Spirit but at the same time God is not allowing it to be "replenished."  I guess we need to pull up to HS tank and pump in some new Spirit every once in a while.

Then he goes on to say that if you leave the one and only TRUE Church of God (Packsim) the Holy Spirit slowly leaks out of you. 

QUESTION 8: How can one have God’s Spirit, but still be outside His true Church? (This is the first of four related questions and answers, each of which builds on the others.)  

The answer to this has already been covered via many of Mr. Armstrong’s quotes, so only a little more need be said. There are branches—individual Christians—that are cut off from Christ’s Church. From that point, His Spirit is dwindling in them, not being replenished. But these “branches” can still be grafted back into the Vine (explained throughout). The flow of God’s Spirit can begin again, and this is directly connected to anointing their eyes. 

Basic fact. All of God’s people, and certainly the ministry, understood in the past that any particular member could be disfellowshipped from the Church and then brought back into it. We all knew that one can be out of the Body of Christ, but return to it. No mystery here. Members can be in the Church (in Christ’s Body), leave or be put out of the Church—from membership—then come back into the Church, having never lost God’s Spirit. Of course, many never return and obviously God’s Spirit does slowly leave them. This process depended on how much of the Holy Spirit they had, and how much time passed while they were cut off, among other things.

This man obviously does not engage his full mental capacity when he writes this drivel.  Even worse, is his small clan of members who believe it as God inspired.

LCG: In Fear Mode Over Pope?

The Living Church of God made the following official announcement about Pope Benedict XVI this past Saturday.  Instead of preaching about Jesus Christ they seem to feel the Pope is more significant.

Will Pope Benedict XVI Resign? The Pope will turn 85 this month. His health issues and comments he has made in the past have some expecting his resignation. In early March, two different reports appeared in Italian newspapers (Il Foglio, March 10; and Libero, March 11), “…advancing the hypothesis that Benedict XVI might resign, in part for the sake of influencing the choice of his successor.” Proponents of the idea that the Pope might resign refer to comments he made in 2010 and to comments he made before becoming pope, that, “If a pope clearly realizes that he is no longer physically, psychologically, and spiritually capable of carrying out the duties of his office, then he has the right, and in some circumstances the obligation, to resign.” Opponents of the idea cite a lack of precedent, and also the “crisis in faith” that having an acting Pope and a “retired Pope” (both considered the “Vicar of Christ”), would create in the church (VaticanInsider.LaStampa.it, September 25, 2011; chiesa.espresso.repubblica.it, March 16, 2012). It has been said, “Leaders think in terms of years or decades, while popes think in terms of centuries.” The Vatican has long been influential in international politics and the papacy has been an important part of the enterprise. Bible prophecy reveals that a “world church” will play a major role in the formation and backing of the end-time European Beast power (see Revelation 17). Whether the current Pope resigns or not remains to be seen. However, we can rest assured that this intelligent Pope has carefully thought through the implications and impact of any decision he will make.

Instead of talking about what was accomplished on the cross at this time of year in LCG, they remain in fear mode. Fear keeps the captives captive and ever fearful of a German Pope who is aging.  A Pope who will make a visit to Jerusalem.  A Pope who will lead the unification of Easter and Western Catholicism who will then incite Germany and others to jump on planes and ships and head over to America to set up concentration camps filled with meat-hooks and ovens.  A Pope who will be taken over by Satan and be the official persecutor of TRUE COG members who weren't lucky enough to make it to Petra. Oh, did I mention the Germans?

Prophet Thiel: Large Hadron Collider a Tool of Europe to Attack US?

Robert Thiel, the Official Spokesperson of the Living Church of God, Rod Meredith's personal mouthpiece and self-appointed authority on the precise sequence of events related to end time prophecy, is concerned about the Europeans using their technology to destroy the United States.

Prophet Thiel has had a particular beef with their Large Hadron Collider.  It seems it is bigger than the one in the US and it will therefore be used for bigger experiments that will make the US look weak.  The Official Spokesperson for the Living Church of God also feels that the rise in European technology is a sure indication that they will soon attack and destroy the United States.

The LHC is a European, not American, project.  It is the largest physics project in the world.
Large physics projects tend to produce military weaponry. Now if the Large Hadron Collider does have military potential, which I have long indicated that it does, all should understand that it is likely that the Europeans and not the Americans will benefit from it:

As I am sure the US version is used first for US interests and then for other use.

Then the Official Mouthpiece on prophecy for the Living Church of God has this specific prophecy:

So, whatever technologies are spun-off from this highly important science project are expected to primarily benefit the Europeans and not the Americans.

The understanding of the Living Church of God that the Europeans will be able to attack and takeover the United States and its Anglo-descended allies (cf. Isaiah 10:5-11; Daniel 11:39) is correct and will come to pass. And it still appears, to me at least, possible that the past and likely future successes of the CERN LHC may assist in the fulfillment of those prophecies.

You would think with all the degrees and certificates that the Official Mouthpiece of the Living Church of God brags about that he would use that education to make wiser judgements and stop uttering such ridiculous false prophecies.

The Temple of God Is NOT In Jerusalem But In.......

There will be NO movies, TV shows or video games in God’s Kingdom to come. Human beings were designed to be creative, inventive and productive—not mindless, idle “zombies,” hypnotized by entertainment.
