I am a simple teacher of godliness and have come to restore that which has been lost and to reveal new truth....send me your money

Following is a post from our Chief Zealot of the church where he attempts to prove his special standing with his god to a leader of an African COG that asked the Chief Zealot some questions.

The church has a long history of men setting themselves up as agents of the creature god they follow, as if personally sent by it, to set the church back on track or to fulfill some end-times apocalyptic scenario.
Jesus wrote that a man of God is known by his fruits (Mat 7) and Moses wrote that a man of God is known by his fidelity to godliness (Deu 13, 17). I find that some today make claims of being prophets, apostles etc only to impress people to follow themselves, saying in so many words “I am a prophet, so follow me.”
Like any end-time prophet in the Church of God, Chief Pharisee and Zealot James Malm believes he has been sent by his god to restore all things lost, hold the brethren accountable, and to enforce slavery to the law upon his tens of followers.
I have not been ordained by any man; I am a simple teacher of godliness sent by God because so many men ordained by other men have gone astray. I have restored much that has been lost over time, revealed or further explained much that is new, told the truth to all, openly rebuked sin and called all people to embrace and love God enough to live by every Word of God.
However, I loath the deceit of those who make grand personal claims to impressive titles to collect personal followings and I do not want anyone to follow me, I want people to follow and embrace God and his Word. Therefore I have never claimed to be a prophet or any such thing.
The bullshit meter went off the charts here. He is so filled with vanity, like Bob Thiel,  that all of his posts are about him and what he has come to reveal as "truth." It is never about Jesus, but him and the law.
I am a student of the scripture continually learning and growing in knowledge and understanding. I do share what I learn and I do not hesitate to rebuke sin so I would agree that I am a teacher of godliness, I would also admit to watching and reporting on the ebb and flow of events and in that sense I am a watchman; but I will not misuse titles to deceive people as so many do.
As for financial support, everything that I say is provided freely and all of our literature is also provided for free download here, any support that I receive is given voluntarily, and believe me it is not nearly enough and expenses are usually higher than contributions, eroding my life’s savings. This is a work of love not a money making enterprise.
Except, that is, for the books he feels are so vital that people will pay to download them on Zulu and pay him a fee. He also expects his tens of followers to support him as he refuses to actively go to work.
This effort involves many thousands of hours of hard work to which I have devoted myself full time for years and it is written that the laborer is worthy of his hire; even Paul sponsored certain Nazarites in their vow to dedicate themselves to godliness (Acts 21:23-26), setting an example that we might do likewise and support those who have dedicated themselves in service to God.
In fact the true priesthood is the spirit High Priesthood of Melchizedek [Jesus Christ] and the Levitical priesthood was replaced by Jesus Christ when the spirit High Priesthood of Melchizedek was restored after Christ’s resurrection.
True there is no physical temple at this time, however there is a spiritual temple which must be served 1 Corinthians 3:16 Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? Those who serve in the temple whether in the physical or the spiritual temple have a right to a modest living by their service. 1 Corinthians 9:13 Do ye not know that they which minister about holy things live of the things of the temple? and they which wait at the altar are partakers with the altar?
James
Open your wallets suckers!  It is his anyway!  As the watchman of god he deserve to be supported. Even by low-income African followers.

Malm writes: "Those who serve in the temple whether in the physical or the spiritual temple have a right to a modest living by their service."

QUESTION: Dont we all "serve" as members of the "spiritual temple". Aren't we ALL Priests according to 1 Peter 2:9 ?
But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people,

Note that the word "are" is in the present tense, not future.

So is Malm claiming that his service is greater than our own?... and if so, who is the judge of such a thing? Malms argument, and the argument of many, like Pack, Weinland, Flurry, Thiel etc. falls apart for financial support UNLESS they can somehow appeal to the idea that they are "different or more special" than the rest of us.

On that account, they all fall woefully short.

Like a house that was restored using shoddy material, Malm'm restoration goes without bid.
His work is shoddy due to a missing theological degree, confirmation bias due to armstrongism, and lack of transparency. He is a minister and man of god within his own delusional mind.

We don't have to be enlightened as to what evil Malm is conspiring to unleash upon the world. Rather than attempting a representative sampling or making any pretense to comprehensiveness, I rather focus primarily on the subset of James's indiscretions that preach fear and ignorance. Shall we pretend that he's a beautiful, caring person with no intention of spreading self-deceiving, unsavory views? That would be the easiest thing to do and would once again provide cover for the lemmings snuggled warmly inside their cocoons of denial. However, it would clearly overlook the important fact that many people think of James's unimaginative flimflams as a joke. The fact is, he is deadly serious.

The point is that unlike the usual, venal, garden-variety jobsworth, Malm is not interested in what is true and what is false or in what is good and what is evil. In fact, those distinctions have no meaning to him whatsoever. His destructive shenanigans will turn your finances into a third world income and in the long run, he will sacrifice you and your family on the altar of armstrongism for his benefit, not yours. If you let him.

Buyer beware!

Jesus said 'a laborer is worthy of his hire' and Paul defended his right as an Apostle to receive financial support from his congregations.
Ron Dart commented about financially supporting ministries, and unlike other COGs' demands, Ron suggested donating to help those ministries which you believe have helped you.

An honest, useful worker is worth something.

A false, useless religious babbler is not worth anything.

The Watchman Malm utters:"However, I loath the deceit of those who make grand personal claims to impressive titles to collect personal followings and I do not want anyone to follow me, I want people to follow and embrace God and his Word. Therefore I have never claimed to be a prophet or any such thing."

Fantastic! Then stay out of the way so people can have a relationship with God. God doesn't need you.

James Malm's CALENDAR CONFUSION will prevent him from ever figuring out the correct TIMING of future events.

"His work is shoddy due to a missing theological degree, "

His work is shoddy due to missing screws.

You don't need a degree to learn theology. All you get in school is the same stuff you can find in books. All you need to do is read "the right" books. Of course, there are no "right" books because theology is nothing but deception and opinion. At best you can try to figure out what the best opinions are.

Church income is another victim of the pandemic - with restrictions on church attendance, less happens when the plate is passed. For COGs, that's only on holy days, so mailing funds is well established.
Again Bob Thiel has cited Banned, this time about the Harry Eisenberg study on tithing.
I first came across the Eisenberg study in the Ambassador Report; there was also Dr Martin's Tithing Dilemma. A few years ago, Exit and Support had a link to the ministry of a former rabbinical student turned evangelist, who also had a detailed analysis showing why Biblical tithing was no longer valid.
And well do I remember the lesson in the old Correspondence Course on tithing, only to discover many years later how it was based on a misunderstanding of parts of the book of Hebrews...
And didn't Joe Sr temporarily teach no tithing, thinking that would actually cause income to increase?
