The One Thing Today's COG Groups Have Perfected

It’s easy to control these groups. If you disagree with me-you are disagreeing with GOD. Your salvation is at stake. Now send me your money. God has revealed all his truth through me. We may only have 2 or 3 more years. We must send a message that is going to shake this world. We have the sure word of prophecy.

" If you disagree with me-you are disagreeing with GOD."

a near universal tactic...never worked on me, even before coming into The Church, and certainly not after....

And it pisses them off royally when you free yourself from their clutches! Even more so, when you have the audacity to point out what an awful experience it was!

I would never want to insult dogs by comparing them to some of those so-called COG leaders.

There's a darker side to the "we may only have 2 or 3 more years." In times of perceived great danger, people mentally regress, making it easier for the elite to lord it over the sheep. From a book on mind control:

"Fear and catastrophe fortify the need to identify with a strong leader. They lead to herding together of people, who shy away from wanting to be individual cells any longer. They prefer to be part of a huge mystic organisation that protects against threat and distress, in oneness with the leader. The protection seeking instinctual reaction is also directed against dissent and individualism, against the individual ego. We see in this a regression toward a more primitive state of mass participation. True, this state of ego shrinking is the negative side of the back-to-mass reaction."

We have the sure word of mind control. Everyone wants to control your mind. The COGs, Facebook, youtube, and twitter are all worse than The Mother of Harlots herself. The Catholic church allows more independent speech than any of them. What a mess.

Hmmm Miller Jones. Beware of false prophets who hide in plain sight.
What would Jesus have you do ?

What struck me the most in the COGs is that brethren all say the same little sentenses over and over during fellowshipping: "the best feast ever", "hopefully very soon now", "so amazing that this has been revealed to us", “we will be healed”... And that hasn’t changed over the years. You will hear the same things, the same little catchphrases today that you heard five years ago and ten years ago.

It’s like listening to robots.. All the brethren do is sit and repeat what their leaders are telling them. It’s sad, but also a bit unsettling. Because what happens if any of these leaders decides ’to do a Koresh’?

Try this. Tell them you want to redeem your tithe. $120 for a return of $100. If you haven't concluded yet that tithing isn't biblical you can keep your scruples yet only pay 20% of a tithe. It's completely lawful according to the O.C.

Who is using my initials? That's not how the redeeming process worked!

Well, km, you seem to have been very kind regarding what you called religious leaders, where Jesus Christ would seemingly label them in Matthew 23 as follows:

"...16 Woe unto you, [ye] blind guides...fools and blind...hypocrites...blind Pharisee...witnesses unto yourselves...children of them which killed the prophets..."

But, then again, Jesus began to clarify He really was speaking to the "things" that were driving (John 8:44) those religious leaders of His day on earth:

:33 [Ye] serpents, [ye] generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?
:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and [some] of them ye shall kill and crucify; and [some] of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute [them] from city to city:
:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.

Those religious leaders being addressed were not responsible for the shed blood of Abel or Zacharias.

Well, may this principle still apply today? It did in the Apostle Paul's day:

2 Cor 11:13 For such [are] false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
:15 Therefore [it is] no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.

Really?

Okay, but mutts also? Dogs? Yes, sure Jesus Christ really "nailed" it and knew who His real enemies were:

Psalm 22:16 "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet."

Did Christ actually have the same attitude towards them religious leaders as He did to the 2 thieves nailed beside Him?

Luke 23:34 "Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots."

If the answer isn't obvious, well, then time will tell...
