LCG Doesn't Appreciate Naughty Members Making Lists Of Problems In The Church

Yes, brethren, we know we have problems, but we are better than all the other COG's out there! So PLEASE stop holding us accountable for our sins and transgressions! It's ungodly! After all, David, Peter and Paul had problems, and look at how they turned out! God needs imperfect people to do his work!

Yes, brethren we know we screwed up with Sheldon Monson, so PLEASE bear with us during this DIFFICULT time. We are so tired of whiney people that go running to blogs and social media and expose our hypocrisy. God is going to hold them and you whiners accountable!  So PLEASE stop looking for loose bricks in our crumbling walls of the church. We know it is in bad shape.

Loose Bricks or Big Picture? How do you view the Church of God and the Work of God? Many who come into contact with the Living Church of God are excited to learn the Truth of God for the first time. Others are grateful to reconnect with the Truth they once learned from the Scriptures, after a time away. Yet, from time to time, some, who are actually part of the very Church that is doing this Work, begin to look for loose bricks. They begin to compile lists of what they think are problems in the Church—editorial mistakes, misspoken words in a sermon, offenses caused by a minister or a member, doctrinal disagreements, or decisions they disagree with—and they drift off in different directions. However, we need to remember that David, Samuel, Peter, and Paul each had their problems, and they also had their detractors, yet God used these imperfect human beings to carry on His Work. The human leaders of God’s Work today are no different, and detractors have not disappeared. During challenging times, we need to maintain our focus on the God-given mission of His Church: preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom to the world (Mark 16:15), warning the world of end-time events (Matthew 24; Ezekiel 3 and 33), and preparing a people to reign with Jesus Christ in the coming Kingdom of God (Luke 1:17Revelation 5:10). That message is going forth with increasing power from the Living Church of God publications, television programs, and Internet operations. This is the big picture that we need to keep in mind, instead of getting caught up looking for loose bricks.

Have a profitable Sabbath,

Douglas S. Winnail

Watching LCG through all of this is like watching The Tiger King. It is the biggest cluster f@#$* imaginable and yet we can't stop looking! None of these people ever seems to be embarassed with how they are acting.

It is embarrassing being a COG member any more. How could I have fallen for all of this crap for so many years?

Winnail has used the "loose brick" analogy for at least ten to twelve years and trots it out every time there is controversy over something in his group. By now there have been so many loose bricks over the years, that one wonders how there is any structure left standing. At some point you must pay attention to the loose bricks. They need to be chiseled out or repaired and the mortar replaced. Other wise the bricks will continue to loosen and crumble and eventually the whole structure will collapse. Perhaps it's time that Winnail started paying more attention to the crumbling loose bricks around him, instead of telling everyone else to ignore the obvious.

Loose bricks?? ACOGs ministers have always been obsessed with members loose bricks. They live for members loose bricks. But how dare members even notice ministers loose bricks. One standard for me, another for thee.

Gerald Weston says get a life for people who say he is leading the LCG astray; check out his latest weekly podcast; Monson is getting under his skin; from the little šŸ¦

LCG has so many loose bricks because they have rejected the Cornerstone!
The painted Doug Winnail does not want the members to focus on passages like Ephesians 2:13-21.
LCG does not have peace because they don't believe Jesus brings them to God and has set aside the law (v 13-15).
LCG rejects reconciliation through the cross (v 16).
LCG cannot have peace because they reject Jesus as a sufficient Savior (v 18).
Without a focus on Jesus, LCG is not built on the foundation of the Apostles of Jesus (v 20) and is not becoming the holy temple of God (v 21).

Ephesians 2:13-21
13 But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

14 For he himself is our peace, who has made the two groups one and has destroyed the barrier, the dividing wall of hostility, 15 by setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations. His purpose was to create in himself one new humanity out of the two, thus making peace, 16 and in one body to reconcile both of them to God through the cross, by which he put to death their hostility. 17 He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. 18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.

@ 12:30 AM, when you read what your Bible says about having life, Weston's "get a life" comment is at the least VERY un-ministerial, un-pastoral, and at worst it is outright SATANIC in light of what Jesus Christ actually taught.

Why does Winnail condemn the making of lists of problems, when his own Assistant Director of CAD specializes in keeping lists of members' problems? Is Doug attacking his own assistant so publicly? Or, are there two different scales of justice, where it's NOT OK for members to note problems with ministers (which Weston told members to do regarding Monson), but it's OK not only for ministers to make lists of members' problems, but to make FALSE lists filled with lies made up by McNair's spies who are willing to make stuff up to score points with McNair?

So, Doug, which is it? Was Weston wrong to tell members to "note" Monson's problems? Is McNair wrong to make lists of members' problems? Or are you the hypocrite of the bunch, saying one thing while doing another?

This joke needs to stop...the more he speaks the more he convicts himself. Does he seriously expect us to believe that HE doesn't keep tabs on people too!?!?! They routinely check up on members to see who's paying their tithes, who's logging in to the LCG live streams, who's posting comments on Monson's YouTube sermons and making fired employees sign non-disclosure agreements. Kudos to Sheldon or anyone else that has the guts to stand up to them and get under their skin out there in Charlotte....give'em hell! LCG has become so corrupt and morally bankrupt it's sad they pretend to be Christians.

Speaking of mistakes in the LCG, Bob Thiel (in an earlier post) is quoted saying that he predicted RCM would be "struck down" for not correcting errors Bob pointed out. What kind of "corrections" were SO important? In comparison, Doug should be relieved that members' gripes are not life threatening!

"Misspoken words in a sermon"? That seems to happen regularly in some COGs - even when a speaker is clearly reading a speech, as some do (perhaps to prevent misspokens).

"Doctrinal disagreements"? Peter and Paul seemed to have one in the New Testament. But neither one kicked the other out of the church over it.

It’s nice to see so many people disgusted by the hypocrisy of this letter. LCG is hyper focused on the “loose bricks” of their sheeple but demands nobody notices the grievous behavior of LCG ministry. They disgust me.

The painted pastor wrote:
“That message is going forth with increasing power from the Living Church of God publications, television programs, and Internet operations.”

Is Doug outright lying with that statement?
Perhaps I am wrong but what he is insinuating is power, I see as decreasing. I see far less of the trace LCG used to make in the media and on the internet than even a few years ago.

Natural attrition has made a hit on LCG income and power to spread their gospel. I figure that every 20 tithe slaves Monson can steal is the equivalent of one minister’s salary. The first 40 defectors pay for Monson and Fritts, whose salaries are no longer LCG’s liability. What remains of Monson and Fritts’ former congregations will be taken over by existing loyalist ministers. No one new will be hired because each additional 20 tithe slaves that split will cost the equivalent of a minister’s salary. Instead of reducing the ministry, LCG will reduce their gospel outreach.

If LCG was ensnaring new tithe slaves, they would not stop flaunting those statistics, If there was any power in their operation they would be bragging about it incessantly. Indeed, the house that Rod of God built is crumbling so the Painted Doug Winnail must blame it on the murmuring members.

Doug wrote regarding his Mickey Mouse Millennium (with another Jesus reigning on earth for 1000 years): "...During challenging times, we need to maintain our focus on the God-given mission of His Church: preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom to the world (Mark 16:15), warning the world of end-time events (Matthew 24; Ezekiel 3 and 33), and preparing a people to reign with Jesus Christ in the coming Kingdom of God (Luke 1:17; Revelation 5:10). That message is going forth with increasing power from the Living Church of God publications, television programs, and Internet operations. This is the big picture that we need to keep in mind, instead of getting caught up looking for loose bricks..."

Doug, still blind and asleep, is still unable to see that his message is one of "Junk Food:" just one huge loose brick he keeps close to his chest like some "pet rock." When will Doug wake up, become aware, be alert to that lukewarm, false message, with erroneous timing?

Here is Jeremiah's message for hireling Doug, who lacked faith in God, fled WCG to go do his own thing...taking others with him:

Jeremiah 23:1-2 Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD.
Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.

Is there anything new under the sun ... for hireling "little helper: to God's servant, Doug?

Time will tell...

John

The very idea that the Church of God needs physical leaders is the big pile of loose bricks. The Holy Spirit is doing just fine leading God's church and an organization ain't it!

11:47am Hopefully they'll wise up and see that tithing was only a law under the Mt. Sinai covenant, not before and not after. Would God allow Jacob to cut a deal with him concerning a law? Could Jacob say "God, if you bless me I promise that I won't commit adultery, or steal, or lie"?

But he did cut a deal about tithing, proving that tithing is voluntary not mandatory!

Thankfully I've not heard Winnails "loose bricks" metaphor before.
But as other comments have pointed out it is quite concerning.

In many Biblical stories who always loosened the bricks ? As in Jerico, it was always God.

Sampson also pulled all the bricks down with supernatural strength given by God.

Is the bricks being loosened now in LCG by God himself ?

I love the comments you wrote.

I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD.
Do they even notice the warnings from God.

I have been praying that God would dismantle this destructive cult that has enslaved my loved ones!

Anonymous of September 2, 2020 at 3:18 demonstrated that Dr. Douffy Doug always misuses spiritual concepts and scripture.

Anonymous pointed out Doug's pet and perpetual use of the term "loose bricks" contradicts God and God's use of loosening the bricks of corrupt institutions.

Prayer for LCG

Holy Mighty Majesty; Dear God of Mercy: Please, for the sake of the holiness of your name, expose the lethal loose bricks of the LCG leadership that seek to crush the lay people who desire to serve you. Please turn the desire of these people to serve into overwhelming love for you, for you offering salvation through the works of a perfect Savior.

Open their eyes to see that salvation is a gift, fully paid for by the sacrifice of Jesus, not to be earned by works of the law. Please justify these people by the righteousness of Jesus. Please free them from the tyranny of the LCG leaders who seek to enslave them to laws of a defunct covenant.

Though we have ever-present longing for the redemption of the people of the LCG, we wait and rest in your holy will to bring all things to their benefit, according to your holy plan.

In the name of Jesus, our Holy, All-sufficient Savior, we pray - AMEN!

I pray all the COGs awake to the falseness they have been taught and deceived by (the ministry are deceived too generally).

It strikes me as odd that Winnail would talk about those that note bad teachings "when someone misspoke in a sermon". Perhaps that speaker should have corrected himself later. Perhaps the speaker shouldn't get pissy when it is brought up to him. Perhaps the laity should feel they can readily bring this up without it being viewed as "challenging authority".

If the speaker truly misspoke, it should easily be corrected...or perhaps it wasn't misspoken after all.

Jim - you made an excellent point!
Winnail believes the members should just suck it up when the ministry preaches crap!

Jim
There is some grey area.
In all Churches, like the Catholics, preachers have slack to harp on "personal pet theories", that are not mispoken, but need not conform to official doctrine.

I heard sermons on "ezechiel ufo's", and some have testified here on texan racism preached, that would have been illegal in our area, or at least heavily frowned upon by the membership.

Some pet theories on food may be funny, others lethal, or should be brought before the "inquisition". Oh, I forgot COG dont have an ecclesiastical legal appeals body like the inquisition office.

LCG doesn't believe they "screwed up with Sheldon Monson." LCG will keep on going and not look back. The Monson affair is already ancient history. What ever "work" he is going to do will cone to nothing. Just like with Bryce and Thiel and any other minister that has left its ranks.

I'm not even sure what the writer means when he says Monson "will cone to nothing." He's right, though, that LCG won't look back. Healthy organizations do a lot of self-searching when valued and/or high-profile employees leave, so they can become better in the future. Only an arrogant organization like LCG, with its Make Armstrongism Great Again approach, will believe that the fault is never with the organization and always 100% with the one who departs. These are not shepherds who trust the 99 stable brethren to stay secure while the shepherd chases after the 1 who is in danger. No, instead of abiding by Christ's parable, when 1 sheep leaves the LCG leaders get angry and beat more viciously on the 99 sheep who remain.

Sure looks like there are a lot of aethists on this website. Yes the church has its share of problems. Human leaders are human and have many shortfalls. Yes I believe that heirarchal church govt is not scriptural and that because of power struggles and personalities and men vying for position, it can and does cause oppression among the laity. But someone commented that Winnails belief of the millennium was a Mickey Mouse millennium, evidently this person does not believe in Jesus and his promise to return and set up a kingdom, which is very scriptural. Sounds like there’s going to be a lot of repentance going on before it’s over by many with this mentality. May God speed his Kingdom.
