We can imagine Jonah, roaming thru Nineveh, that great city, shouting, “Yet forty or fifty days, more or less, God’s gonna maybe overthrow you.”

From a reader:

From today’s COGWriter:

“However, the end of the 6,000 years God has granted humanity to rule itself will likely be over within the next decade or so....”

I may have missed an earlier example, but today’s “prophecy” is a splendid illustration of Dr. Thiel’s prophetic style.  We can imagine Jonah, for instance, roaming thru Nineveh, that great city, shouting, “Yet forty or fifty days, more or less, God’s gonna maybe overthrow you.”

Now of course in that example God did have a change of plan, but that was because the people responded to the Prophet’s message.  The message was clear: God will do this.  The King said, “who knows, perhaps if we really repent, God will change his mind.”  They did, and God did.

That’s quite different from Thiel’s “will likely”  and his “or so.”
But you didn’t need me to point that out.  Have a good day.

Bobs not a prophet and never will be. Heck, he is not even a legitimate ordained minister. Bonjour's so-called blessing was not an ordination and by no means was an endorsement to start a new group. Everything about Bob reeks of illegitimacy.

Thiel is an attention-seeking whoremonger. While he may not be chasing skirts, he is chasing recognition that no one seems to grant him. He becomes more desperate by the day.

You are right about his illegitimacy. Herbert Armstrong would have kicked his sorry hands flapping bouncing ass to the curb.

This is why I love this blog so much!

For him to take a shortcut qualifying for Jonah, he could embark on an evangelistic tour to Puget Sound and stage an encounter with an Orca by jumping overboard.

People playing the game of king of the hill is common in ACOG-land. Everyone wants recognition, respect, honor etc, but these have to be legitimately earned rather than swindled from people.

I have a theory..

Bob, Gerald and David have an ongoing bet about which one of them can get the most comments on their actions/sermons/news letters on this blog. Once a year, a week before the FOT, the winner gets announced and that COG leader gets to use the silverware that came out of HWA’s estate for an entire year.

Sounds outrageous and crazy you say? No more than the stuff that these madmen come up with week after week!

Interesting to contrast Jonah with Bob.

Jonah was called to be a prophet, Bob only claims he was.
Jonah was given a specific message to deliver, Bob makes it up as he goes along.
Jonah tried to avoid his commissioned assignment, Bob jumped ship and claimed he had a commission.
Jonah delivered his message so well the people repented and avoided a calamity, Bob is forever trying to convince people he is a prophet.
Jonah was upset because his message was heeded, Bob is upset because his message isn't heeded.
Jonah was swallowed by a fish, Bob is fishy and people won't swallow him.
