No One Respects Me!

I checked out the polls on the blog the other day

and guess who out of all the current COG leaders is at the bottom of the cesspool?

It's pretty bad when even Dave Pack and Gerald Flurry are considered not as bad as he is.

Comedian Rodney Dangerfield………… “can’t get no respect”.
Hey Rodney….I respect ya……..more than that other self obsessed comedian………

Hey, maybe the dude just thrives on notoriety! Or, he's got some sort of sensory blockage that prevents him from knowing how he affects people. Do skunks smell themselves?

So Bob is #1 at something! I'm a little surprised that he is so far ahead in these polls.
Although Bob endlessly touts himself as an unrecognized prophet, he's very cautious in specifics for his 'predictions'. GF proved false about the election (but insists he will be proven right, eventually), and DCP has pronounced many a wonder that left everyone wondering. The closest thing Bob appears to be firm on is 2028, which he seems to be pushing as "his 1972" (or 1975?) in prophecy...
Dangerous? Bob is probably more of a danger to himself than his small group. The only possible public "danger" is to Africa if his funding dries up.

It is difficult to interpret the results of a survey. Does this one tell us something that is reasonably objective or is it a reflection of the relative coverage these men receive on this blog? I did not vote in the survey. I don't know most of these Splinterist preachers and what they stand for. The last time I spoke with Jim Franks, Alton Billingsley or Ron Weinland was back in the early Seventies. The others I did not know existed until I started reading this blog.

Which denomination is more deadly? I dunno. They are all more or less the same from where I sit. So, I wonder how others made this decision. But finally, a reader's poll is a good thing. It may settle some questions and always raises others. And resolving questions is on the critical path to understanding. But in the end polling, owing to sheer human complexity, is an art and not a science.

David pack is better than Bob Thiel so bob being a false prophet still has dcp in higher standing.

Although Bob is a BOOB, it is doubtful that he would be the deadliest. He does not have very much direct "in person" face to face contact with his scattered group, nor does he have an iconic "compound" to defend.

Thiel is basically a "virtual hologram" and thus lacks the intimacy required to become a deadly cult. A stupid one, sure, but deadly , no.

I suspect that a Thiel hater "stuffed the ballot box".

There's another way to look at it. Out of the 300 Caucasians overseen by Bob, how many of them spend significant money on Bob's health care products and services?

Compared to Flurry, Pack, Weston, etc., Bob is much more likely to give people self-serving advice about their health. Flurry might tell you not to drink soda if you're a student at his college, but Bob will SELL you supplements that he says will help you be your best. That's a potentially deadly power the other leaders don't have.

David Hulme?! Isn't that guy dead? What ever happened to his COGIC?

Bob calling himself the only prophet of God today is what is so barfable. If he would only stop deceiving himself.............

Bob is the only prophet? I'm at a loss!

What ever happened to his COGIC?

Church of God, an Intellectual Con-game, mostly folded a few years ago when its key ministers defected, a few going to LCG and a few rebranding as The Father's Call. Today, COGIC is little more than the David Hulme Show.

The Father's Call has as one of its distinctions that it is the only ACOG with a congregation in Roswell, New Mexico.

The "Father's Call" splinter cult led by Brian Orchard is just another dead COG. One of the last updates I saw on the page was 2018. The COG has dwindled into nothingness.

There's a Steven Orchard and a Ben Orchard posting on the blog page at The Father's Call. Is Daddy Brian trying to create another family ministerial dynasty?

I seem to remember that COGIC imploded when Hulme started to walk back the British Israel horsecrap. Culties don't like it very much when their leaders shed the deceptions and start to come clean. It's kind of like Trump's supporters booing him when he advises them to go get vaccinated.

Well, Bob's an easy target. His sheer output of material alone is enough to make him easy to pick on (quantity isn't quality, Bob, and it's pretty obvious how much you've decided to phone it in over time). Add to that his hilariously awkward interpretations, obvious question-dodging, seemingly absurd inability to read the materials he's quoting, and of course his terrible presentation style, and sure... Bob's the runt of the bunch. By all means.

Whether he's the most-false false prophet is debatable, as Flurry and Pack tend to have more spectacular failures (Weinland too, right?), and that "most dangerous" bit is particularly funny - Bob's not dangerous to much more than a Kleenex or a sheer napkin.

RSK wrote Well, Bob's an easy target.

Yes, he is. And once again, he put himself in the spotlight, and asks, Can you believe?

I can prophet, fine, taste Passover wine
Anytime, night or day.
Only trouble is, gee whiz!
I'm dreaming my life away!

Dream, dream, dream, dream
Dream, dream, dream, dream
When I want you in my cult
When I want you and all your gelt
Whenever I want you, all I have to do is
Dream, dream, dream, dream

Hey, Bob! Where I come from, prophets are respected because their prophesies are fulfilled! People do not repect on command. I never could respect my WCG parents, but the people whom I knew who did respect their parents did so because they realized that their parents were looking out for their childrens' best interests, and offered loving nurture.

The leaders of the Armstrong movement believed in military style respect, and taught that the chain of command of which they were part extended up to God, meaning that if you did not respect them, you did not respect God. When despicable people claim to represent God, it causes their followers to believe that God is despicable. These people will tolerate poor treatment because they think they need to in order to save their own asses, but sooner or later that wears out. Hopefully, they find the real deal, but in most cases they are turned off for life.

I have a number of friends in COGaIC and it appears to be alive and doing quite well. They don't seek to be in the headlines so you won't hear much from them from that angle. I was told that the split was mostly the malcontents that wanted control of the organization. As for BI, they say they still hold to it but don't make an issue of it in public because there is no "thus sayith the Lord" concerning it and have a policy of presenting to the public only what's clearly stated in the bible.
