Here we go again. Satan, that crafty wily dude that is constantly leading Living Church of God people astray is hard at work trying to do it again. Misguided individuals are spreading rumors and spreading false doctrines to disrupt the mighty mission of the church just like they did in Jesus' time.
Other than mentioning Jesus name because it is convenient, Winnail does not elaborate on what traditional Christianity understands about Jesus and Satan.
Satan's Devices: God raised up His Church to preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God (Mark 16:15), to warn the world of a coming judgment (Mathew 24), and to prepare a people to reign with Jesus Christ (Luke 1:17). Satan has tried to thwart this mission down through history by attacking Jesus and His disciples and using misguided individuals to spread rumors and false doctrines to disrupt the Work of the early Church (1 Corinthians 1:10–13; Galatians 1:6–9). Satan’s goal has not changed. Today, we are in a spiritual war with a cunning adversary (Ephesians 6:10–20) who is still using the same devices (2 Corinthians 2:11). This is why the Apostle Paul urged the early Church to be of “the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10) and to “hold the traditions which you were taught” (2 Thessalonians 2:15). Peter warned that we must be able to recognize and resist Satan’s efforts to thwart the plan of God with his divisive devices (1 Peter 5:8–9). We must all strive to avoid being instruments in Satan’s hands—if we want to be in the coming Kingdom of God.

Things Christianity has always understood:
Satan and the demons are terrified of Christ and the gospel Matt. 8:29; Mark 1:24; James 2:19. They cannot separate believers in Christ from the love of God Rom. 8:38 They can be restrained by the Holy Spirit 2 Thess. 2:6; 1 John 4:4 They have to obey Jesus Matt. 8:32 They even had to obey the 12 disciples and the severity-two Luke 10:17–2. They unwittingly serve God’s purposes Judg. 9:23.
Yet, Church of God ministers live in a constant state of fear that Satan has more power than their god does and is constantly attacking the church and members. Maybe it is because the church talks so little about having confidence and assurity in Christ - something Christians have understood for two millennia.
Maybe if COG people stopped listening to deceivers like Thiel, Pack, Flurry, and Weinland they would not be constantly afraid of Satan and constantly talking about him.

The ACOGs recognize a problem, then use it as a licence to unleash all manner of abuse on their members. It's the standard operating procedure in these groups. School yard bully morality always prevails.

Doug fears Satan because he knows he is living in hypocrisy, preaching Old Testament law while choosing deliberately to live unrepentantly in sin in violation of that law.

Well, it certainly does look like Satan was successful at leading the barely Living Church of Rod into some really serious errors.
Roderick C. Meredith tried to belittle the relatively huge work that Herbert W. Armstrong and the Worldwide Church of God under him had done and make it sound like almost nobody had ever heard of them. Furthermore, Rod tried to say that his own little splinter group that he started with less than one-tenth of the people from the WCG was going to “shake the nations.” But over the past 30 years, neither of Rod's splinter groups have been able to grow in size, though the number of splinter groups has grown. The Global Church of Rod spawned Dave Pack's satanic Restored Cash Grab cult and then went bankrupt. The barely Living Church of Rod spawned Bob Thiel's Continuing Church of The Wannabe.
The great commission to preach the gospel to the world for a witness to all nations was a huge thing with HWA, and getting it wrong was connected to a double curse by the apostle Paul. Trying to compete against HWA and outdo him, Rod came up with a two-fold, or hybrid, gospel message by taking HWA's gospel OF Christ about the coming kingdom of God and combining it with the world's gospel ABOUT the person of Christ.
Further trying to belittle the great work that HWA had done, the barely Living Church of Rod came up with the idea that the great falling away is something that will happen in the future out in the world, rather than what already actually did happen in the WCG with the Great Apostasy of 1995 when the apostate Joseph W. Tkach, Sr. openly threw out of the WCG virtually everything that HWA had taught and caused the 150,000 people in the WCG to scatter all over.
LCG members should be afraid. They should be very afraid. Never mind shaking the world. LCG members should be shaking with fear. What have they gotten themselves into????

Armstrongism doesn't know what the gospel is, the good news, or the kingdom. If they read the ENTIRE Bible, they would find they can each have a personal relationship with Christ, be led by the Holy Spirit, and walk in power and authority. Instead, they act like Jesus never came and run for the cave to hide in. There is no fruit.
I believe that the Arianism of the 19th century Adventist Movement led to the Binitarianism of the Church of God Seventh day which then led to the Bi-theism of Armstrongism. I have yet to validate this chain of events - but it is my hypothesis.
Bi-theism results in a semantic loss of the meaning of God in his actions in the New Testament. HWA in the MOA, p. 211, cites Ephesians 3:9:
"And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:”
First, HWA uses this to make a separation between God and Jesus. HWA writes that God is the Creator but Jesus is the Maker. There are a few complications with this. First, the phrase “by Jesus Christ” is characterized as follows in Ellicott’s Commentary:
“The words “by Jesus Christ” should be omitted, probably having crept in from a gloss, and not belonging to the original.”
In fact, “by Jesus Christ” is found only in the King James Version, I believe. This makes the Creator/Maker bifurcation between God and Jesus pivot on a note that was mistakenly included in scripture.
Second, John 1:3 clearly indicates that Jesus created all things.
Third, here is where there is a semantic loss of meaning for Bi-theists. The original manuscripts state that it is “God who created all things (NRSV).” But John 1:3, says Jesus created all things. When Bi-theists, like Armstrongists, see the term “God” in the New Testament, they automatically believe it means God the Father as opposed to Jesus. But Christian doctrine leads to a different reading that typically recognizes to term “God” as a reference to the Triune God - Father, Son and Holy Ghost. This is true also of the term Yahweh in the OT. So, the HWA reading here, based on a scriptural addition, leads to a separation between God and Jesus and the Christian reading leads to a unification of God and Jesus. This also leads to a different reading of the NT as a whole by Bi-theists. They will see Jesus as excluded from many actions where the name of God is used. Hence, a separation and subordination of Jesus Christ.

My previous comment needs a further comment. In Bi-theism, Jesus is diminished. He may not be seen as able to protect the church from the Dark Side. HWA acknowleges that Jesus is God but he is a subordinate God.

What were Doug Winnail's most important words in his brief, often-repeated, message to his followers, who apparently don't have the minds to perceive (Deut 29:4), ears to hear, eyes to see what Doug keeps repeating to them? I suspect it is his last sentence, which stated:

Doug, what if one does not strive to avoid Satan's devices? Satan causes sin, something Doug continues to have in his life, but Doug has already been snagged (2 Tim 2:26)
"He that committeth sin is of the devil;..." I John 3:8 For e.g :12 Satan murdered Abel
Does Doug teach/preach those words? Are his followers aware of them? Shouldn't Doug repeat those words and explain them along with perhaps other verses like Heb 2:14-15; Job 41:33; Ezekiel 28:19; John 8:44; James 4:5 (well, if Doug wants to drag Satan into his messages to others)?
Whether one strives or does not strive to avoid Satan, one is going to sin (only exception so far: Jesus Christ), and that means God's laws will be broken, transgressed, and one will reap the wages of death. Doug is no exception, but there is good news: not the gospel that Doug, by another spirit, has in mind with a very soon arrival of another Jesus to reign on earth 1,000 years. Doug, who became an instrument of Satan'a hands has been locked into another gospel. If that weren't true, then Doug would not have said: "...if we want to be in the coming Kingdom of God..."
Why is the fearful Doug doubtful about that Kingdom of God?
Remember the 2 thieves?
Luke 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Based on verses cited above, both thieves were instruments in Satan's hands. Jesus, not "another Jesus" that you have in mind, told one thief he was going to be in the Kingdom, but when?
After the 1,000 years, after Satan is loosed from a pit and allowed for some additional years to again deceive the entire world's inhabitants, after the Last Plagues/Vials are poured out, shortly after that the thief will be resurrected. Why? Well, the kingdom predicted to come will have come. There was no doubt about it.

What did Jesus say, because He knew when He would come in His glory?

Doug, that kingdom was prepared for those sheep, those people, from a long time ago...from the foundation of the world. Sorry, but that does not agree with your false gospel of another Jesus to very soon return to reign on earth 1,000 years, but you are a babe and you will believe it later.

Both thieves will be in that Kingdom, that paradise, because Jesus did not lie to us, like a lot of uncaring hirelings, who left their ministerial credentials behind in Pasadena as they fled from the former WCG...like yourself, did, do and continue to do. You are part of the predicted scattering of John 10 in another man-made organization to sustain your desire to be $profitable$ as you look forward to your $retirement$, but as a deceived babe, a deceived hireling.
Jesus had no doubt about the 2 thieves, whether they were instruments of Satan or not, being in God's Kingdom, but you believe in "another gospel, another kingdom" out of your own mind: not out of Jesus' mind, which was of The God's Mind, the Father's Mind. Your timing is so far off...

God's Church preaching the Gospel of the coming Kingdom of God?
Probably so, but when will you, Doug (and other scattered xcog hirelings included also), preach the Gospel of the Kingdom of God? And the same GOSPEL the 2 thieves heard about!
Did you catch the Gospel, the Good News, of Romans 6:23, the gift of God?
It is right there at the end right after the words of: "For the wages of sin [is] death;..."
What are those words? "...but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
And yet, there are ministers of the scattered xcogs who want to resurrect human beings so they can be "tested," and then see those who weren't "as smart in right choice-making as they thought they were in their former lives," be tossed into some lake of fire.
Death was the penalty for sin via breaking God's law. Wasn't that enough? Why would God judge any human being again? Doug, think about it...Is your god into "double jeopardy?"
