I just love it when hypocritical, self-serving, self-appointed false prophets in the Church of God get all prissy and call other COG leaders false prophets. They seem to forget that the very verses they lob as grenades against their competition apply directly to them.
Bob Thiel condemned himself whith this:
David Pack has been in my prayers for spiritual reasons.
I have long felt that the following also applied to David Pack:
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. (2 Peter 2:1-3)
12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. They are spots and blemishes, carousing in their own deceptions while they feast with you, 14 having eyes full of adultery and that cannot cease from sin, enticing unstable souls. They have a heart trained in covetous practices, and are accursed children. (2 Peter 2:12-14)
18 For when they speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. (2 Peter 2:18-20)
While I wish David Pack no ill, and am praying for his health, I pray he and those with him will open their eyes and see the truth.
Oh, wait, is Dave supposed to repent and move over to the improperly named "continuing Church of God, where the only truth is being preached? Hilarious, especially in light of the above-posted scriptures that damn Bob Thiel!

Bob states: "While I wish David Pack no ill, and am praying for his health,.."
That's emasculated Christianity. God's attitude towards Pharisees who rob widows of their homes via Common, is very different.
Psalm 2:4 "He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision."
Proverbs 15:29 "The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous."
Why pray for a thief and destroyer of lives? Where's the justice there?
Bob, that's pussy Christianity and proof that you are a fraud.
Previous God fearing generations whipped, flogged, threw rotten vegetables etc at such people, but you respond with a Mickey Mouse "I wish Pack no ill."

Personally I can see where BT is coming from. I mean I personally bear no ill will to anyone friend and foe alike. But it doesn’t stop me from praying to the Supreme Judge of all to avenge me and those I love on the heads of those who have wronged us be they personal or collective enemies. After all He did say vengeance is mine. And He knows our hearts and alone can break us so we’ll be ripe for repentance and reconciliation. A lot of the psalms composed by King David himself are just that ie imprecatory prayers.
Ah, behold the spectacle: two modern-day “prophets,” each foaming at the mouth while declaring the other a false prophet. It’s like watching rival scam artists accuse each other of fraud—technically accurate, but still hilarious.
One insists his hotline to God is legit, while the other screeches back that his visions are the only real ones—never mind that both sound like recycled memes with a donation link at the end.
In truth, the only prophecy either has ever nailed is that gullible people will keep paying for the privilege of being lied to. A battle of frauds condemning each other as frauds—finally, something they both got right.
Decades ago, I had a young "white boy" experience that was totally mind-boggling. While our drafting class teacher at community college was out of the room, two of our black classmates were having an animated conversation which escalated into a game of "The Dozens". The game involves trading outrageous, vicious insults, and to those of us bystanders from the honky community who were unfamiliar with this game, it appeared that a fight might break out. But, one of the guys finally outdid the other, and the fervor died down. Next day, in class, they were fine with each other.
By the things he writes on his own site, it often appears that Bob Thiel thinks he's in a game of the dozens with his peer/competitors. It's always one-sided in that they don't bother to dignify his words with a response. No matter. In such a game, he's completely unarmed anyway.

6.49, So you bear no ill will towards your enemies, but want God to avenge you of your enemies. I recall reading similar statements in American self help books decades ago, and it took me awhile to work out what appeared contradictory. It turns out that it is contradictory since American culture is very partial to evil. Ill will and similar are moral judgements, and the greatest sin in popular culture is to pass moral judgment.
God doesn't punish purely to make people "ripe for repentance." He also punishes to get even. In fact, the desire to get even is a involuntary reaction everyone feels when wronged. Hollywood revenge movies are popular for a reason. But this is taboo in American culture and especially in ACOG-land.
Bob Thiel is not praying for Dave's health. That's what you say when you don't want to come across as vindictive and not the "deeply converted" person one perceives themselves to be. It's when you really feel they guy is getting what he deserves and look forward to less competition in the world of "I alone am the True Church and Prophet". Bob is as theologically delusional as a man can be.
Like us all, Bob's day will come, and "we who remain" will say we are praying for Bob and wish him no ill will, when we aren't either and are trying not to.
It just sounds nicer to say, "but that he repent..." as the only thing we wish he'd do, when we really wish, he , like others who deceive, bloviate and pretend to know, would go away.
Bob Thiel, seemingly unable to open his own eyes and see truth, wrote that he has: "...long felt that the following also applied to David Pack:
1 But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 By covetousness they will exploit you with deceptive words; for a long time their judgment has not been idle, and their destruction does not slumber. (2 Peter 2:1-3...)
12 But these, like natural brute beasts made to be caught and destroyed, speak evil of the things they do not understand, and will utterly perish in their own corruption, 13 and will receive the wages of unrighteousness, as those who count it pleasure to carouse in the daytime. Those natural brute beasts of verse 12 have no reference to Dave Pack at all, and context reveals that verse 12 is concerned with angels: the evil ones, all part of the so-called principalities.
The previous verse, 11, in context says:
"Whereas angels, which are greater in power and might, bring not railing accusation against them before the Lord."
So, verse 12 has nothing to do with human beings; however, the principalities do infest human beings and cause problems. How may that happen with a Bob Thiel, or a Dave Pack, or a Weston, Franks, Winnail, Weinland, Coulter, Flurry…etc.?
Bob Thiel, citing the verses in 2 Peter 2 deal with principalities; however, Bob Thiel believes he is wrestling with the flesh and blood of a Dave Pack.
Bob is just showing us that he, like Dave Pack, is also blind, and that was cited by the author of this particular thread.
Or, in the Apostle Paul's words, one might say of Bob Thiel the following:
Romans 2:1 "Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things."
Yes, that would apply to Dave Pack also, but those blind do not “see” that.
Is there sin involved with all of this blaming/judging of one another, when both (Thiel and Pack) are like those 2 black kettles?
If yes, then what is involved? Flesh and blood, or spirit?
"He that committeth sin is of the devil;..." I John 3:8
Isn't the devil, a spirit, also a principality: one of the principalities?
Can a human being be infested by such a spirit? James says they can be:
"Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy?" James 4:5
Lust and envy are involved with this spirit, this principality, that dwells within Christians, like those James was addressing. If it infects Christians, what about the rest of humanity? Is that spirit to be found in them, also? By their fruits we may know them. It's not a pretty picture, if you ask me, but I didn’t inspire these scriptures. I’m just reading them.
The apostle Paul, like James, understood about the sin that dwelled within. He told us about it.
Romans 7:17 "Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."
How did that sin get to dwell within?
Rom 7:20 "Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me."
Why did Paul have to say virtually the same thing twice?
Both Bob Thiel and Dave Pack have the fruits of being inspired to predict prophecies that turn/turned out false. They are both like prophets falsely so-called.
If God is not inspiring them, then which spirit is inspiring them? Might it be a solely flesh and blood thingy, or some principality (ies)?
Both of these men have spewed out confusion, and we know who the author is: a principality!
When will God grant/give both of them, Thiel/Pack, repentance?
Time will tell...
John
The only thing dire that Bob Thiel gives anyone is rhea!
2:10 I can see how praying for justice while bearing no personal ill will might sound contradictory on the surface, but I don't think it is at all—at least not in the biblical context. There's a big difference between harboring personal hatred and appealing to God as the Righteous Judge. Like you said, the urge for justice—or even to "get even"—is just human nature. I mean, who doesn't love a good revenge flick? I'm a sucker for "She-Devil" and "Horrible Bosses" myself—there's something satisfying about seeing wrongs righted, even if it's just on screen! But here's the thing: praying for God's vengeance as in the biblical model, and exemplified especially in David's imprecatory psalms, isn't about indulging that impulse ourselves—it's about relinquishing it to God. It's about trusting the Supreme Judge to deliver justice perfectly—in His way and in His time. David didn't pretend to be above anger or grief. He brought those raw emotions before God and left the outcome in His hands. That's not weakness or moral evasion—it's trust. And yes, sometimes God punishes to settle the score. Other times, His justice comes in the form of mercy that leads to repentance. Either way, it's His call, not mine. So no, I don't see it as a contradiction because while I'm not afraid to call out wrong, I'd rather let God handle the avenging than let it consume me. After all only God can truly balance justice and mercy, vengeance and grace and I’m content to leave it in His hands, knowing His judgment is infinitely perfect.
