Dave Pack: My Damnation Truly Slumbers Not

Dave writes about what he assumes is a description of the top three CO Leaders.  What he has done is perfectly describe himself!  Dave has become personally rich off of the backs of his poor members.  He is constantly procuring new things and works overtime to attain the status he thinks he deserves.  He is getting ready to use the COG members as merchandise, to move about as he sees fit.

He is a false teacher among the brethren, bringing false heresies and he specially denies The Lord he claims to follow.

Dave's damnation truly slumbers not.

Zechariah 11:5: “Whose possessors slay them, and hold themselves not guilty: and they that sell them say, Blessed be the Lord; for I am rich: and their own shepherds pity them not.” Who are these shepherd “possessors” slaying the flock? Who are the shepherds that have become “rich” from buying and selling God’s people?

The Hebrew brings clues. Possessors can also be translated “…to procure, especially by purchase (causatively sell); by implication to own: attain, buy (-er)…get…possess (-or), purchase.” Sell in the Hebrew means “to sell, literally (as MERCHANDISE).” We already saw that “shepherds” would be ministers.

Now II Peter 2: “But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who [privately] shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves SWIFT DESTRUCTION. And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of. And through covetousness [enriching themselves and their organizations] shall they with feigned words make MERCHANDISE of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not” (vs. 1-3).

I was thinking the same thing reading through his snark on others. It left me thinking, well this is pretty much you too. Dave is a classic case of the eye that sees can't see itself. He is all the things he projects on others. Projection works that way.

Projection is a defense mechanism that involves taking our own unacceptable qualities or feelings and ascribing them to other people. For example, if you have a strong dislike for someone, you might instead believe that he or she does not like you. Projection works by allowing the expression of the desire or impulse, but in a way that the ego cannot recognize, therefore reducing anxiety."

Humans are complicated at times when they can't come up with a humble or child like attitude in life. That's why I like the quote about sitting before the facts in life as little child and take them fearlessly wherever they lead you. Or you will learn nothing.

Dave is not the kind of personality that learns new things. He is cloistered in his castle and very small box and badly wanting to get the past back where it just felt better. He also has to be in charge. Dave works for no man and comes under no authority and there in is the rub that will come to bite him.
