Samuel Martin Speaks Out About Punching Children Controversy

Samuel is the son of Ernest Martin, one of WCG's original scholars who pushed the buttons for many Armstrongites.

He writes today:
The Pen is mightier than the Punch

I think many of us have seen this and been horrified.

And yes, in the picture, "Pastor" Harris is wearing a No Greater Joy Ministries t-shirt. Thanks to whoever pointed that out.

So, are we seeing a pattern here?

It really seems like these guys (among many others) like to and want a fight?

So, as of today, the author of this blog will be fighting back. You may notice a change in tone on this blog going forward. I intend to turn up the volume a bit..

As of today, my book on corporal punishment and the Bible will be available free of charge.

If you want one, all you need to do is send me an email and you'll get the PDF version. Please write: info@biblechild.com asking for the book "Thy Rod and Thy Staff, They Comfort Me; Christians and the Spanking Controversy" by Samuel Martin.

Your contact details will always remain private and not passed on to other parties.

Children should be punched and not heard?

Yep, sounds like the Bible to me!

"An open Bible in the hands of a fool is like a loaded pistol in the belt of an idiot"

It doesn't mean or matter one bit what the Bible "teaches" on spanking or child rearing.

It is an Eastern book, written by a cultic people trying to please a cultic god who claims to be jealous.

It also matters little what the Bible says about marriage and how "to have a happy marriage."

Few seem to notice that all the advice about marriage and childrearing is given by childless and single men.

Agreed on each count. The book has no place in child rearing, it has no place in the laws of our land, and it has no place in our modern culture.

In other news, I wonder how Samuel Martin ended up becoming a christian? I'm sure it had absolutely nothing to do with the christian indoctrination he received as a child. Nothing whatsoever.
