The day may be fast approaching when a Church of God turns into a death trap. Delusional men like Dave Pack, Bod Thiel and Gerald Flurry are bordering on this same mentality.
Excellent reminder of what can happen when a man or woman of charisma and twisted Biblical visions can do to others. The hit on the need to be special, to have like minded community, to know what others can't know and to be saved from what all others will suffer etc. They can spin the Book to mean what it doesn't mean for a result it never intended. More and more they will become paranoid and delusional.
These men who lead such people have only two choices in their lives eventually.
1. I was wrong and mistaken in my views. I apologize 2. We (I) am right but God has given us more time to do the work and has revealed more Good News to us (me).
We already know from past experience which one they will pick...
There will always be some who want us to voluntarily subscribe to yet another layer of authority and embrace group think. They are what is known as "the collectors". And it all seems idyllic and ideal right up until abuse raises its ugly head. But, by that time, it's too late, because they've got their hooks in you.
