Wild Fires, Drought, Rain and the Gays...Just Another Day in LCGland

Its just another typical day in Charlotte with the Living Church of God. Horrible events and gays, two things that LCG can't start any article with without mentioning them both in the first sentence.
Greetings from Charlotte
World events today are sobering to behold: an out-of-control fire in western Canada destroying a town of 80,000 people, torrential rains and droughts plaguing various parts of Africa and Southeast Asia, armed struggles tearing apart countries in the Middle East, ambitious politicians promoting themselves and assailing their rivals—while America and other “nominally” Christian nations fight over issues of “gay” rights and who is allowed to use which public bathrooms. The world certainly needs the return of Jesus Christ to restore peace and sanity to this suffering and mixed-up planet. Here in Charlotte, Dr. Meredith has returned from a profitable trip to Houston and is busy writing a semi-annual letter that will go to more than 500,000 subscribers. Latest figures on the Spanish language YouTube channel, El Mundo de Mañana, show the channel now has more than 18,000 subscribers and more than four million visitors. The Days of Unleavened Bread have been a very profitable time for God’s people around the globe. Traveling speakers from Charlotte have returned with very positive reports from congregations they visited. Members of the Council of Elders will arrive this weekend for meetings that begin on Monday. Your prayers will be appreciated for these meetings.—DSW

Never fear though, LCG is here and has the truth to restore "peace and sanity" to the world.

Who really can believe LCG when it is filled with the most corrupt leadership imaginable? What truth does it have that the world needs when its headquarters is filled with nepotism, financial abuse and spiritual abuse?

"...an out-of-control fire in western Canada destroying a town of 80,000 people ...."

Actually less than 20% of the town was touched by the fire. Lie much?

And this happened in Alberta. The conservative Christian bible belt of Canada. Why does God always seem to get the address wrong?

Geez, You gotta wonder if they substituted tequila and kaneh bosm for the sacramental items in their recent Passover services!

At this late date, they are grasping for anything which would validate their British Israel superstitions and the HWA prophecy mold. It won't be too long until those things have been rendered all but impossible, and they know this about its basic marketability, so there is an aura of last gasp desperation!

As my younger brother once quipped over the WATS line to the background noises of a flushing toilet, "Down the drain with the WCG!"

'Why does God always seem to get the address wrong?'

Because the Christian god of the bible is incompetent. Maybe he can't read and get the address of sinners in order to 'smite', 'smitten' or 'smote' the ungodly offender?

I would say that 'god only knows' but it seems it is more like 'god ain't got a clue' as to what he is doing.

"The world certainly needs the return of Jesus Christ to restore peace and sanity to this suffering and mixed-up planet."

Don't tell us...tell God who seems to have deliberately and conveniently left Jesus in the dark about just what He is supposed to do about it and when.

Matthew 24:36

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

This also renders any prophetic and speculative rantings on when to the dustbin of certainty if at all or ever. Very convenient of the author to say , when Jesus was asked when will he return that he had no clue and that was up to the unaskable Father who seems to have just about dropped out of the picture after the concluding books of the OT to be replaced by one who knows little or nothing about "when" save for rather ambiguous chats about "when you see ...." this or that , all of which we have seen for the past 2000 years plus....

I know, I know...God doesn't count "things which must shortly come to pass" as a man does...

I predict everyone alive today will die in the future in the Not So Wonderful World Today.

Well, if there is ever a drought in the Charlotte area, perhaps we should send some members of the GLBT community over there to cause rains and flooding.

Better yet, let's organize some GLBT tours of Germany!

Did anyone notice Doug Winnail's comments section of the weekly update from which this story was taken?

He goes on and on about humility and pride. He even goes so far as to say that, "pride will contribute to a person's downfall". Sounds like a not-so-subtle dig at Rod Meredith to me. I mean, Rod is one of the most prideful men that I have ever encountered so it wouldn't be a stretch.

Later in Doug writes, "as Christian's we must be subject to government (within and without the Church)".

Is he referring to the lawsuit against Meredith and McNair? What else would government "outside the church" be in reference to? Would the COE actually be foolish enough to believe they are above the law of North Carolina and need to be put in check by the Director of Church Administration?

When Doug refers to "within the church" he is most certainly referring to contentions that came up at the COE when some members force their doctrinal changes on others and they stand up for their beliefs instead of laying down to take what their corrupt church government is trying to force down their throats? The same old things just won't lie down and go away (marriage supper, falling away, etc).

Doug's comments were undeniably pointed. I was left wondering, "at whom".
