Seven Years Ago Today God's Greatest Miracle In The History Of The Church Happened!

Rejoice! God is all-powerful and on his throne as he leads his church into Petra! It has been 7 (the number of perfection) complete years since one of the greatest moments in the history of the Church of God movement happened!  Prophet Herbert Armstrong, Dave Pack, Ron Weinland, and Gerald Flurry, and all the other little insignificant splinter upstarts that exist out there pale in comparison with this great man!   No other human being (a man, of course) has ever existed that carries such a mantle as this church leader. Even Jesus himself doubly-blessed this leader and sent dreams and visions to occupy his little narcissistic mind! Isn't God amazing that he does such things?????

Our very own dreamy Chief Overseer, Elijah, Elisha, Amos, Johsua Bob Thiel is touting his self-appointment as the one true end-time church with an incredibly narcissistic video sermon to his African faithful and a few deluded white Americans.

The Great Bwana tells a whopper of a lie when he claims his personality cult is a RESTORATION of the faith once delivered!  Somewhere in the world pigs are flying and jackasses are talking at this great miracle. Praise Bwana!

The Continuing Church of God officially declared itself a separate legal entity on December 28, 2012. What has it been doing over the past seven years? Is the CCOG doing what God says? Is it doing things that Laodiceans overlook because of misunderstandings as well as improper traditions? What some of the similarities between its start and the start of the old Radio Church of God? What about A.N. Duggar and the Church of God Seventh Day? Did Hebert W. Armstrong teach that his wife Loma had a dream from God? Does God still use dreams? Has the ‘mantle’ passed to the CCOG? Does the CCOG have more of the signs of Acts 2:17-18 than any other true COG group? Does CCOG have the growth and fruits to expect of the Philadelphia remnant? What about Romans 11:25 and Matthew 24:14? What about the short work of Romans 9:28? Has the CCOG restored doctrine and other information? What project is the CCOG working on? What does the CCOG plan for the future? Dr. Thiel answers these questions and more.
I would put a link to his video clickbait sermon, but don't want him gloating that tens of thousands have watched it.

One of the most sublime passages of scripture, that even an atheist can enjoy and do is 1 Corinthians 13.
I challenge the COG leaders to expound on this instead of prophecy, 12 principles of grace, 2020 in prophecy, the Ezekiel commission, etc.

1 Corinthians 13 New International Version (NIV)
13 If I speak in the tongues[a] of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast,[b] but do not have love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Bob is a Catholic wannabee prophet whom the scorned.

Dreamer boy Bob is a sanctimonious narcissistic Roman Catholic wanna-be prophet who will most likely tell his "members" to get ready to go to the place of safety, currently waiting for them behind the Hale-Bop comet, and will sadly probably have the same results when it was tried a few decades ago.

Bob of a thousand questions wonders: "Did Hebert W. What about the short work of Romans 9:28?"

What Bob is seeking is what is commonly known as "Archaic Authorization". You see it in the Old Testament unfold as the voice of God seems to fade and new ways are "dreamed up" to find out who I the real thing with God and who is not. No longer does God walk in the garden and talk with Adam and Eve personally. No longer is anyone "the friend of God" or gets to talk to God face to face. The Psalms are full of "why art thou so far off" and "hear me oh God" . Assurances of being the true person or having the right way are sought. Thus the Urim and Thummin of old or the casting of lots to figure out who replaces Judas.

As people wake up and become more self aware, the gods fade. In our time the "God of the gaps" in science and knowledge fades as those gaps are filled.

The Greeks turned to oracles of Delphi for help and the Egyptians to the oracles of Amon. The voice of Zeus at Doodona was sought. In the OT, the prophets hallucinated the will of God. Idols have come in and out of fashion and back in again as others sought answers that were not forthcoming directly from God. In modern times, speaking in tongues is thought to be a way to discern the ever silent God and in many cultures using animal entrails, casting lots, throwing bones and reading tarot serve the same purpose.

As do the belief that dreams are another way to tease God's mind and will out of him. This is Bob's Archaic Authorization. So badly does he seek recognition, confirmation and an inside specialness of his beliefs by the real God, that dreams are his goat entrails, bone throwing and tarot reading. It's all the same. God won't say anything up front so ways have to be find to tease and coax his authorization out of him so we know who is who and what is what.

It's all baloney but what humans do when the ever fading voce and thus will of God, is hard to perceive. It is quite possible that Loma never had any dream and that HWA simply made that up as a means to his own Archaic Authorization to leave one group and start his own. . People do that. "I had a dream" is hard to question and prove one did not. Of course a more conscious and enlightened person would respond with "I don't care what kind of dream you had. It means nothing to me and shouldn't to you." But the archaic mind is not up to speed on such concepts. It takes an archaic mind to get lost in the prediction addictions we see in many Christians trying to "divine" the will and ways of God.

Archaic means "of or belonging to the past; from an ancient period in history"
Authorization means "official permission for something to happen, or the act of giving someone official permission to do something"

Thus Bob's dreams are simply a way belonging to the ancient past, that he uses to officially give himself permission to start his own church as is his double portion of the spirit story where someone official, like a minister who told him he's special authorizing him, in his mind, to branch out and become an apostate former member of the Living Church of God.

Bob's dreams are the goat entrails archaically authorizing the Continuing Church of God

My Comment : One of the problem I believe contributes to a number of conflicts in biblical discussion is the failure of understanding what is defined as God's love. Human love varies but God's love doesn't. The whole purpose of the Christian Faith is to fulfill a Devine purpose. As I have mentioned before there is a need to focus on Christian relationships acceptable to God. ASB

Reminds me of a country song: "A Little Less Talk and a Lot More Action"

Bob Thiel spends far more time justifying his own existence than he does accomplishing anything measurable. Leaders with bigger, more expansive personalities already have the numbers that are commensurate with their abilities.

It seems as if Thiel, Pack & Flurry are always tooting their own horn about how great they were. It always blew my mind how they crown themselves leader of the "Philadelphia Era Church." Seems like it would be up to God to state who was actually the "Philadelphia Church." Flurry is always trying to brand others as "Laodeceian". The whole church era is nothing but nonsense. It is more important how you treat others & how you live your life. Growing up it in Worldwide as a kid it always blew my mind if these ministers are supposedly so righteous how come they seem like a$$hole$?

One of the best proofs that you are not Philadelphian is that you judge your brother to be Laodicean.

Dennis - aren't you worried that prophet Bob will call a she bear out of the woods to maul you like Elisha did to the children or call down fire to consume you like Elijah did with the soldiers?

My experience was that the ministers ignored how members treated each other unless it was one of their own. It's tribalism with its 'my group, right or wrong.' .
Minister behavior is just schoolyard bully mortality with some biblical window dressing thrown in.

TLA I Cor 13 has always been an inspiration to me. We had to memorize it in the 2nd Grade as Good Dutch Reformed Calvinists children. It sticks.

Knowing Paul as scripture and he himself describes himself, I have, of course, wondered if it was inserted to mellow Paul's image or he wrote it as he began to realize he was very mistaken about his prophecies about the soon and shortly of Jesus return. After all, he told people to stay single and not bother with relationships etc. He probably ruined a few lives with his mistaken views just as religious zealots do to this day. It seems like a form of repentance to me , if written by Paul, of his initial snarky "If anyone comes to you with any other gospel that the one I gave you, let him be accursed" etc. Maybe the guy changed. Rare, but it can happen :)

I didn't listen to Bob's sermon closely, and caught snatches of a few points that seemed to be about comments posted at Banned.
Personally, I don't care about the quality of his degrees, but as I've commented before, his suffixing PhD and giving his name as Doctor. His continual stressing his assumed role, mentioning dreams, "growth" and "fruits" is constantly repeated.
As for "wiggle room" on predictions, it appears that he admitted that he uses vague terms on timing when the details have not been revealed to him. So, that seems to be an admission that he is speculating.
He appears to claim the dreams (of his and someone in NZ, Africa, etc) and a "prediction" he made about the health of one or more individuals were divinely revealed, but to the general public the offer nothing special.
Personally, I disagree with him on some key doctrines, and am not influenced by his claims. Unlike HWA, I don't believe Bob ever said "If I'm wrong, tell me and I'll change".

To borrow from ESPN, Robert Thiel is Highly Questionable.

But while he celebrates that anniversary, there was one this past week that hardly any COG mentioned - not even this blog.

It was 25 years since THE sermon in Big Sandy.
