Gerald Weston Reenforces Difference Between Disfellowhipping and Marking

An LCG source sent the following to me regarding LCG's renewed focus on disfellowshipping and marking. The Church of God has always used these as a weapon to instill fear in members that if this ever happens to them then they will be entirely cut off from God and will go through the tribulation, losing their salvation, and any chance of ever being a god or goddess in the world tomorrow ruling over planets.

Is Weston warning his followers to be ready for a new round of disfellowshipments and markings? After all, we are in troubling times and the end is near as trouble makers in the church are seeking to cause members to lose their salvation. Or, so we are led to believe.

Thought this may interest you and others. Gerald Weston tries to put a soft "marking" on anyone that causes "disruption", even when they are "nice"! We all know that causing "disruption" could be applied to pretty much anything they want (they already accuse people of causing "division" who don't do exactly what they are told). Obviously this soft marking strategy is a tactic to control the flow of information to members - they might learn that their pastors acted like an overlord.

You should listen to the whole message. Gerald's Council of Elders is still getting into disputes about whether or not LCG members should wear tassels, and whether new mothers are required to observe the differing quarantine periods given after boys or girls are born. How can we expect these men to deal with challenges like pandemic viruses and economic dislocation when they are stuck on some of the milkiest milk of the New Covenant? From Weston's comments it's clear that LCG "leaders" don't understand EITHER the old Armstrongist application of the New Covenant OR its actual Biblical application.

Extremism breeds the need for control moves such as disfellowshipment and marking. The Adventists are known for their counseling skills and retention of members. A wide variety of ideas and sub-beliefs are tolerated in typical Jewish synagogues. Usually, when your preferred method of governance is "my way or the highway", people typically choose the highway and deal with the consequences. Most people are not binary thinkers by nature. It is something that they are taught.

Having said all that, there are people who really should be cancelled, ignored, and nothing they say should be taken seriously. Cancel or disfellowshipment are just not the one size fits all processes that people try to make them. In an ACOG, that is the most serious type of punishment, and in theory, should be used only as a last resort. Personally, I am glad it isn't, because that's often the ticket to people's freedom. A decision they are afraid to make themselves. So, go for it, Jer! Go on a disfellowship tear. We're here to help the people you cut loose.

Why is Weston using yellow eye shadow?

Why is Weston using yellow eye shadow?

He is clearly unwell. The yellow eyelids are a classic symptom of cholesterol buildup leading to an imminent heart attack.

Did you get that, Prophlet Bob? I hereby prophesy that Gerald Weston will suffer a heart attack before the end of October, and likely much sooner.

However, he's also had some more recent illness, even if it's just a bad cold. Look at the red patch under his nostril.

Weston gives me the creeps. He always has, even when he was here in Canada.

Being a regular producer of literal FLATULENCE during services should have someone disfellowshipped.

Well at least Weston is honest about marking and disfellowshipment. The are hypocrital cruel Pastors who mark brethren to others without giving an official disfellowshipment. Thereby doing it in the shadows and behind HQ back. Not very Christ like behaviour.

Come on, Tonto! Someone in the RCG has developed software that translates Dave Pack's flatulence into prophecy! He has placed the motorcycle helmet visors on the table from which Dave preaches so that the wind currents in the room will not disrupt his farts. Apparently the software is either defective, or Dave is eating the wrong foods.

One of America's bill of rights forbids the government from making vague laws. People have a right to know precisely where the law ends rather than some mushy laws of "disturbing the peace." Weston's possible accusations of "divisions" and "disruptions" can only be avoided by members exclusively speaking small talk. Which power hungry ministers would love to see happen since it leaves them a monopoly on adult conversations.
Btw, legitimate divisions can be minimized by the ACOGs feeding their members spiritual meat rather than spiritual milk.

Plus teaching people to act in a Christian manner when dealing with differences of opinion, rather than a "my way or the highway" style approach.

FALSE. Where did you learn such nonsense?

However, there is a so-called "vagueness doctrine" that has developed by inference because of the "due process" clause in the Fourteenth Amendment (NOT part of the "Bill of Rights") as well as the Fifth Amendment (part of the "Bill of Rights").

That doctrine does not forbid the government from making vague laws. What it does is ensure that when litigating an ambiguous document, the ambiguity must be resolved against the interest of the party who wrote or invoked the ambiguous document.

There is NOTHING in the Constitution preventing some legislature from passing a law that says, "You get the death penalty for wearing a bright red shirt after noon on Sundays." What the law protects against is the enforcement of such a vague law. Is sunset still "after noon on Sunday"? Is Monday still "after noon on Sunday"? How bright is bright red? And what is a shirt vs. a blouse or a halter top? The government can pass such a law, but it would be unenforceable because of the vagueness doctrine.

To me it is the ULTIMATE COMPLIMENT to be either Disfellowshipped and or Marked!! It means you are a THREAT to them and their TITHE MONEY!! They forget that there is a God who EXPOSES the truth and NO ONE can deliver out of HIS hand!! (Deut.32:39) I don’t need the LCG to interpret for me!! They take to themselves a great deal of authority that does not even belong to them!! I pray they wake up before it is too late!! P.S. If they like you, you are a SYCOPHANT!! Luke 6:26 is pretty clear on that!!

TRUTH is not permitted in the LCG!! Only the so called Ministers have the ability to determine what truth may be spoken!! If it doesn’t fit their agenda it will not be tolerated!! They were ahead of their time in some respects!! T H I N K about it!!
