My mom would tell me a story about during the depression and post war. they would have serial movies shown with cliffhangers so you would go back the next week to see what would happen next. They also gave away household products like pots and pans and dishes. Maybe they would get more members that way if he started giving people stuff every week because what he preachers are all stupid empty cliff hangers.
Yeah! Those serials were how my Mom got her silverware set, one utensil at a time. We had to polish it on rainy days when she was trying to keep us occupied because we couldn't play outside. I was really happy when somebody invented Quick Dip but polishing Mom's silverware was good practice for polishing the aluminum casings on my motorcycles.over the years! They lived to appreciate that, because I gave the 'rents some rides on my bike. Who does that for their sheltered, adrenalin-deprived parents???
My only complaint — aside from the loud music (curse YouTube oversensitivity) — is that such talk from a traditional Armstrongist (meaning not CGI and offshoots) gives an outsider the impression the religion embraces Civic Duty (politics/military/bearing arms, etc.). That’s the bait/switch which got me. I got the impression from US/BC that Armstrongism was down with such things. Then, by the time I found out otherwise, I had gotten hooked. That’s why on platforms like TruthSocial, I will call out people putting out Armstrongist material while at the same time being political. I often agree with their politics, but I don’t want them deceiving others into the same trick I felt for.

Is Dave suggesting that the police who came out to the Auditorium in Pasadena to quash the receivership protests should have shot to kill?
