I have a bit of a different take on the situation with Vicki Flurry.
If you’ll remember, it all started when GF was counseling her about her husband. She was told to divorce him! Not precisely sure how long the “counseling” went on for but it would be more accurately described as transference in the psychology world. (“Transference is a psychological phenomenon where a patient unconsciously redirects feelings, desires, and expectations onto their therapist.”) He took advantage of her very fragile state! She no doubt thought she was entering into a safe, peaceful, righteous and God-fearing family. She was totally deceived. Behind closed doors that family is just as full with back stabbing, bickering, jealousy, jockeying and manipulation like any others. What a shock it must have been for her to see their true colors slowly seep out.
With GF’s health deteriorating rapidly, the awareness of a very flawed and fake family, and waking up every morning to a gross, old, failing mean old man, carrying on everyday as his caretaker/maid, would quickly pull the blinders off allowing someone to process the situation for what it is–a fraud.
No doubt, knowing their Dad is nearing death, the “kids” watched her every move and attitude and when they noticed she was no longer blinded to their facade, they began to push her out! Same MO they use on members whom they can longer control. They likely made her life miserable until she couldn’t take it anymore. Because one thing is for certain, Stephen, Laura and families aren’t about to give up one penny of GF’s inheritance to that woman!
I hope one day she’ll reach out to ESN and tell her side of the story and heal from the awful situation she was apart of. I can only imagine the stories she has to tell and the abuses she witnessed. –Former PCG member [name withheld]

Sadly, this will probably strengthen the faith of the hardcore Flurryites. HWA had his Ramona, and now GRF has had his Vicki. Type and antitype. More "proof" that Satan is attacking GRF just as he attacked HWA.

So much bubbling under the surface. Wherever Armstrongism is concerned there is all manner of hocus pocus going on. Did Vicki feel that she was called of God to marry Flurry? Was this marriage another attempt of Flurry's to imitate HWA?
Who even knows? If Flurry passes at this time, he really got a soft landing. He outlived the contracting of his church. That may not be the case for Stephen, or whomever his successor will be.

IIRC the first time I heard about this frog myth it was as a youth reading about some Australia ln PM and his links with Fabianism or Fabian Socialism and this group’s belief in gradualism, which back in the 1980s was warning that we would see slow and steady increments towards a centralized, authoritarian government and national IDs. So it’s interesting now we’re seeing in the West the proposal for CBDCs and Digital IDs etc that will advance these socialist/communist aspects in the once Christian libertarian West.

@ 9:05~ For many years, I had believed that the day an American president took office, he received a bubble-bursting phone call from an individual proclaiming that he and his global cabal were the president's boss, and he would do exactly as told for the next four years or else. I suspected that this was why neither party ever made any progress on a handful of opposing positions which remained in stalemate, with neither side gaining the advantage. 9:18:20 PM PST. Two of the five ministers I had in the 1980s were so backward that I question whether they had ever read a book cover to cover, even though they went to AC. The other three came across as if they had only read a handful of books on human relations. Yet they portrayed themselves as having the understanding of king Solomon and that of a highly trained mental health care professional. And they used this pretext to justify meddling in members lives no end. As you said, a real job and the real world is foreign to them.
I'd love to be a fly on the wall observing those who had lost their church jobs and had to start living in the real world where there's no hiding behind the skirts of being "gawds ministers."
So did Flurry not read Matthew 5:32, "And whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery."? Seems like he got Vicki to divorce her husband, or she was divorcing him anyway, so that GF could marry her and thus commit adultery. She was right to divorce GF and end that adulterous relationship.
I don't know what Flurry's experience is as he goes through life. But I do know that age brings changes in priorities. Personally, I've become increasingly detached from the physical. I just like to bring whatever the job at hand happens to be to successful completion. I don't do close personal relationships because in so many ways I see other people simply as temporary obstacles which one must often strive to get around, even when working for their benefit. Being a short timer is like being an impersonal time traveller. Other people are going to do whatever it is that they do, often encumbered by their emotions. You can't help or save everybody.
Somehow, I really can't see people of the Armstrong faith arriving at the same place which I find myself. This marriage debacle is probably huge for Flurry. I doubt that he sees it as any sort of lesson. Probably blames it all on Satan.
At least Vicki got out ALIVE. Other ministers wives were not so fortunate. How many have died?
