The December 22nd to Christmas Day Nightflix Story in Revelation of the Virgin Giving Birth to the Sun
For the next three days, (December 22nd to the 24th), the Sun neither goes further South nor does it begin its journey back North. This first 1 degree North is Christmas Day. For now, it is three days "in the grave of the Solstice, which means "Sun Stand Still" The Sun begins its removing the Darkness of Winter (Sins of the world) at "about 30 " (Jesus began his ministry at "about 30) degrees north, or one month later in January where Aquarius, The Water Man is the main constellation. This would be John the Baptist in the NightFlix Story. Virgo, The Virgin, gives birth to the Sun on December 25th. Ophiuchus stands between the Virgin and the Sun waiting with the Serpent (Dragon) to devour her child. The Constellation Aquila, the Eagle, waits behind Ophiuchus and his Serpent waiting to take the Woman "to her place". ====================== The author of Revelation knew his yearly cycles and the constellations associated with them to tell his story. The Woman Giving Birth and the SerpentRevelation 12 12 And then a great wonder appeared in heaven: There was a woman who was clothed with the sun, and the moon was under her feet. She had a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out with pain because she was about to give birth. NOTE: The author of Revelation must have written in the late Fall or near the Winter Solstice to tell his story in the night sky. The Moon must have been under the feet of the Constellation Virgo, The Virgin. "Clothed in the Sun" would be the rising Sun. 3 Then another wonder appeared in heaven: There was a giant red dragon there. The dragon had seven heads with a crown on each head. It also had ten horns. 4 Its tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky (Ophiuchus plus the Constellation Serpens cover about 1/3 of the night sky) and threw them down to the earth. It stood in front of the woman who was ready to give birth to the baby. It wanted to eat the woman’s baby as soon as it was born. 5 The woman gave birth to a son, who would rule all the nations with an iron rod. And her child was taken up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman ran away into the desert to a place that God had prepared for her. There she would be taken care of for 1260 days. 13 The dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth. So he chased the woman who had given birth to the child. 14 But the woman was given the two wings of a great eagle. Then she could fly to the place that was prepared for her in the desert.

Denis your interpretation of "scripture" makes more sense than any other I have seen. But if the woman is the sun she is raised to the level of the main god.
As if it wasn't bad enough that HWA was the Grinch who stole Christmas from us! Now we have atheists delving back into the same paganism HWA cited in an attempt to fornicate up our recovery program!
The recovery program is to recover from religion and other false ideologies.
The scriptures do contain quite a bit of Astro-theological stories brought down to Earth, so to speak. Christianity did, like it or not, conscript Sun-gods as Jesus scripts. Virgo is the Virgin that gives birth to the sun. She is not the Sun. Women were associated with the Moon. Men with the Sun. Thus women , the Moon, reflects men , the Sune, and do not give off light of themselves became a concept in the demise of women in the NT.
The description by Ezekiel of Cherubim corresponds exactly to the main constellations of the Four Season. Face of man = Aquarius the water man=Winter/ Face of an Ox/bull= Taurus= Spring/ Face of a Lion=Leo the Lion=Summer and Face of an Eagle=Aquila the Eagle=Fall. Or it's just a coincidence which I seriously doubt it is.
Ezekiel 1:10 Their faces looked like this: Each of the four had the face of a human being, and on the right side each had the face of a lion, and on the left the face of an ox; each also had the face of an eagle.
It's Winter/Summer, Spring/Fall in Ezekiel
In Revelation 4:7-8 it's Summer/Spring/Winter/Fall. The 4x6 wings = 24 and full of eyes are all the background sky stars.
Ezekiel and John had great drugs! :)
"The first creature was like a lion, the second one was like a bull, the third one had the face of a human, and the fourth was like a flying eagle. 8 Each of the four living creatures had six wings, and their bodies were covered with eyes.
The astro-theological stories in the Bible have nothing to do with HWA. He knew nothing of it. It is not paganism. It is what humans did and the stories they derived from looking up in the night sky in the dark of the Middle East for millennia asking "What the hell is all that?" Then they saw lions and tigers and bears, oh my. Virgins, Serpents, Eagles, Humans, Whales, and great hunters. The rest is astro-theological history. They noted the seasons these appeared and in what order. It was NIGHTFLIX and you can watch them unfold in scripture if you know what you are looking at.
PS I wrote the response to Anon 7:51 as well.
Not to make it worse, but the Gospel story of Jesus can also be seen as the Journey of the 12 Constellations around the Sun in one year. Jesus's ministry was one year. Jesus of Galilee means "Jesus of the Circuit" Subtle stuff. Every stain glass window and painting in every church of Jesus shows him with a sunburst around his head. We call it a halo. The story tells a different meaning.
Even Malachi knew
4:2 "But you who fear my name, the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His rays"
A Winter Weekend Hymn:
Deck the hall with Herbert’s folly
fa la la la la, la la la la
Tis the season to watch Jelly
fa la la la la, la la la la
Don we now our gay apparel
(but your dress had better reach below the knee)
Troll the elders with more quarrel
fa la la la la, la la la la
A lot of atheists celebrate Christmas, "cultural" Christmas that is. Is Dennis one of them?
Dennis, the BBC the past week had some great commentary and photos of the Druids celebrating the winter solstice. Thousands attended, quite an eye opening event indeed. There is a real movement, and growing, within the Uk , of people starting to keep and observe old feasts and celebrating their Celtic English history and its very pagan roots. YT channels like Cambrian Chronicles, The History Hub, Celtic Journey Unveiled, to name only a few; give a fascinating insight to early history there. And where many British traditions came from. And the of the languages that lead to modern ‘English’. And not a Semitic strand of DNA to be seen anywhere among these tribes/peoples who inhabit these Islands.
Speaking of halos, why do the self-proclaimed "Holy People" wear that round "beanie" on their head. There is little doubt that is is a halo. Some other religious headgear (like turbans) are probably also halos. It's all about the sun.
With England being overrun by foreigners there is a craving to seek out our roots.
John of Patmos seems to have borrowed a lot of imagery from what was then current in the Roman Empire. He then repurposed the imagery for his own use. He does not use “raw” paganism but re-manufactured paganism. Google AI says the following about this:
“The Book of Revelation utilizes extensive astral and cosmic imagery common in ancient Near Eastern and Hellenistic literature—such as the four fixed zodiac signs, 12-star crowns, and celestial battles—but reinterprets them to signify divine judgment and Christ's sovereignty rather than pagan divination. It reframes non-biblical astrological symbols within a Jewish apocalyptic framework.”
I can’t say I like this literary device much. I think it creates a kind of inconvenient conflation. But it occurs in Apocalyptic Literature and Apocalyptic Literature has its own flair. It does have the benefit of subverting pagan mythology by using its images as a vehicle for communicating Christian prophetic ideas.
Scout
Dennis,
Is there a "Jewish" version of your dissertation? One that would, say, depict the origins of the Feasts from Torah? To your knowledge, were the Canaanites and other Mesopotamian neighbors of Israel who had similar Feasts to the Israelites also "Astro-Theologists"? That way, you could be using it to trash Armstrongism instead of your Dutch-Presbyterian buddies! š„¹
Here we go again! It just pisses Dennis off that people find deep spiritual meaning to Christmas that doesn’t involve the worship of the sun or sacrificing the first born. No one cares.
Shameful. This is what happens when you lean into your own understanding and become superior in your own eyes.
Scripture talks of God sending signs and wonders in the sky to serve as a warning: announcement of Jesus's birth for example or impending judgement from God as Josephus recorded.
But "Dennis" being "Dennis the menace" chucks out the baby and delights in the bathwater. He only looks at the sky but gives no respect to Gods word.
I see you've taken the globe down from this blog. It at times had exposed your real location, like a WW2 spotlight shining during the blitz on Luftwaffe bombers.
This year's winter lock in , brought to you by Harvey's Bristol Creme, the drink of self appointed Apostles /That Prophet everywhere.
Nobody cares about what? That Xmas is pagan? I do.
Clearly, The Plan came first and the ancients read it into the stars. It takes quite an imagination to see the creatures in the stars. Virgo it a good example. How on earth would anyone ever see a woman by "connecting the dots"?
Dennis,
The Hebrew Bible is quite explicit in its condemnation of astrology. Indeed, there is a great deal of discussion about the "host of heaven" (Deuteronomy 4:19, 17:3, II Kings 17:16, 21:3-5, 23:4-5, II Chronicles 33:3-5, Jeremiah 8:2, 19:13, Zephaniah 1:5, and Acts 7:42). Yes, the ancients were aware of the sun, moon, and stars. According to Scripture, they were to be for "signs and for seasons, and for days and years." I notice that you use Virgo in a dual capacity - representing Mary in one instance and one of the twelve apostles in another. Sloppy scholarship, the winter solstice has NOTHING to do with the birth of Christ or its celebration.
Is this the place where cogwa, united cog go to celebrate winter family ( solstice ) weekend?
There is no evidence the "the plan" came first.
This is what happens when you research history rather than assume that forged epistles are inspired by God.
The Jews wanted to put the Roman Empire on a Jewish religious foundation so the Romans would be more sympathetic to the Jews. It was deceitful and therefore evil. But it worked. It created the "Judeo-Christian" idea of the West, something discredited liars like Ben Shapiro still promulgate.
There's a reason no one cares. It has been purified and sublimated by Jesus Christ (just like he does to us!). It's no longer about sin or paganism, because it was totally co-opted and repurposed thousands of years ago by Jesus' followers. And, it has been all about Him until somehow, for reasons that have never been clear to me, Old Covenant Herb started researching paganism and restamping it, reintroducing Satan and Nimrod into it! How despicable! How could HWA have been so evil as to do that???
Isn't it just Constantine's version of Winter Family Weekend?
Doubters got to doubt act. Faith makes for a joyful life.
10:53 When heaven and earth falls away the only thing left will be God's word.
Faith doesn't need evidence. Belivers never kneel to non-believers. We have every right to protect the faith once delivered.
The inconsistency in the work of Denis is probably unavoidable given that the world is full of inconsistent myths and narratives. That includes the Bible.
Over run ? Giving the game away now. Not all of UK is overrun.
10:59 What I understand about the “Judeo-Christian” term is that it wasn’t coined till the end of WWII. But certain Judaics are aware that it’s an oxymoron and have written about it ie Judaism is one religion and has nothing to do with Christianity and vice versa so using the term is like saying “Judeo-Islam” or “Christo-Islam” etc.
Sloppy reading? I never said or implied that and wouldn't. Revelation places 12 stars in her crown
