Generally true. The only exception has been “Earthquake Henry”, whom I’m sure was not groomed by Embarrassing College. He always struck me as being a humble lay person who was not in it for empire-building or fame. Just misguided.

Wasn't there one a couple of years ago, who actually admitted online he was wrong about "the end" date and folded his ministry days later? I thought it was documented here.

Dr Hoeh wrote an article in the Good News explaining that the prophecy of Tyre that appeared in HWA's plagiarized Proof of the Bible was not actually fulfilled. HWA apparently put a stop and recall on that GN edition...

In the late 1990's, a South Korean minister led a group of followers to Garland, TX (a northern suburb of Dallas) to await the return of Christ on a specific date. (They believed that "Garland" sounds like "God's Land" so it would be a good place to wait.) He said that if Jesus did not return on that date, he would resign. After Jesus failed to return, he said that his followers had begged him to reconsider but he felt honor-bound to resign. So they returned to South Korea where he would seek other employment.

‘Garland? Isn’t that the city in Tejas where cigars are manufactured?
