LCG: Leaders who will rule with justice and mercy

I have to laugh every once in a while knowing that the boys in Charlotte read the blog here. One of my criticism is that LCG, as well as most of the other COG's do not lead with grace, justice, and mercy. Then, I had someone send me this today:
The Path to Justice: We are living in an age when lawlessness, rioting, and looting are viewed as legitimate ways to attain social justice for almost any cause (2 Timothy 3:1–5). From a human perspective, it is tempting to want to support a cause that “seems” right in our eyes (Proverbs 14:12) without fully understanding both sides of the issue (Proverbs 18:17). While it is noble to want to alleviate suffering and injustice, we need to remember that this is Satan’s world (2 Corinthians 4:4) that is permeated by his spirit of lies, envy, hatred, and violence (Ephesians 2:2Galatians 5:19–21). The goal of modern social justice warriors is to improve the world by human efforts without the need for God or a Messiah (Isaiah 59:4–514–15). However, our Creator is a God of truth and justice (Deuteronomy 32:4) who hears the cries of the poor and oppressed who look to Him and wait on Him (Job 5:8–9Psalm 17:1–2). Christians who live by faith need to remember that Jesus Christ is coming back to establish judgment and justice on this earth (Isaiah 9:6–7), and He will need leaders who can rule with justice and mercy (Psalm 72:1–4) and point people away from the unfruitful ways of this world (Ezekiel 45:9). This is why we need to develop the mind of God (Philippians 2:5) and wait on God to change society. At that point, we will have the opportunity to show the world the true path to justice (Isaiah 26:7–9).
Have a profitable Sabbath,
Douglas S. Winnail

In one of Bob Thiel's recent sermons (which I passively listened to as "background") I believe he said in his WCG days he never heard a sermon that stressed "mercy". Come to think of it, neither did I.

As an LCG member, I want to know said...

When has "justice" ever been a standard of Living Church of God?

JESUS: "Out of my followers' hearts will flow rivers of living water."

LCG: "No water. Just ice."

In one of Bob Thiel's recent sermons (which I passively listened to as "background") I believe he said in his WCG days he never heard a sermon that stressed "mercy".

Like the mercy Thiel showed to a doddering old Rod Meredith, being willing to defer to the hoary grey head of an elder evangelist instead of pestering the man for attention and recognition and position?

Like the mercy Thiel showed to Gaylyn Bonjour who begged that his innocent loose-lipped encouragement not be misconstrued?

Seems like the wheels are about to come off at CCOG. Just like most other splinters, Thiel started out with the premise that he was the most in-line with HWA... but now he has started to find fault and do his own thing. Give him another five years and he'll be firmly in Pack/Flurry territory. Bob may want to research what the Mayans thought about mercy.

Thiel had no repsect for Rod Meredith. He always felt it was his place to correct him. That is why Meredith smacked him down so viciously forcing Thiel out.

Thiel loves to criticize Flurry and Pack and other COG leaders as being deceived. The stuff Thiel believes and teaches is just as silly and absurd as Pack and Flurry. At least Packa and Flurry had pretty good reasons as to why they split off and set up their empires, but Thiel pulled his reasons out of his ass. Dreams, magical blessings, and outright lies are the foundation of Thiel's sick little cult.

Doug Winnail says we need to:
"...remember that this is Satan’s world (2 Corinthians 4:4) that is permeated by his spirit of lies, envy, hatred, and violence (Ephesians 2:2; Galatians 5:19–21).
...remember that Jesus Christ is coming back to establish judgment and justice on this earth (Isaiah 9:6–7).
...develop the mind of God (Philippians 2:5) and wait on God to change society. At that point, we will have the opportunity to show the world the true path to justice (Isaiah 26:7–9)…"
******
That sounds like a very tall order, so will Doug be ready? And if yes, then when?

For example, Jesus Christ will not return to reign on earth until AFTER the Mickey Mouse Millennium (MMM) of 1,000 years, until AFTER Satan, an enemy of God, is loosed from the pit and is put down. That's a long time away from us, today; it isn't imminent!

Okay, so Doug has a lot of time to prepare to be ready for his opportunity to show the world something.

What about that "Satan’s world (2 Corinthians 4:4) that is permeated by his spirit of lies, envy, hatred, and violence?"

For Doug to be ready one would think he will come to understand James' words for Christians: "...The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy..." James 4:5 Yes, that is in Doug Winnail too, in case he has not noticed it yet.

For Doug to be ready one would think he will come to understand Paul's words for Christians: "...sin that dwelleth in me..." Romans 7:17, 20 Yes, that sin is in Doug Winnail too, in case he has not noticed it yet.

For Doug to be ready one would think he will come to understand Paul's words for Christians: "...evil is present with me..." Romans 7:21 Yes, that evil is present with Doug Winnail too, in case he has not noticed it yet.

For Doug to be ready one would think he will come to understand John's words for Christians: "...He that committeth sin is of the devil..." I John 3:8 Yes, that is in Doug Winnail too, in case he has not noticed it yet.

No wonder the Apostle Paul told us this: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high [places]." Eph 6:12

When will Doug be ready?

Time will tell...

John

Thiel started out with the premise that he was the most in-line with HWA...

Yes, inline with HWA: join the "closest" thing to the "True Church", attempt to "correct" some errors (differences of opinion/interpretations), relate to dreams, epiphanies, whatever, quit, form a new COG and claim to be the "Truest Church" replacing the previous "True Church". Make extraordinary claims of growth, miracles, correcting the "errors", continuing to promote old errors while introducing new ones. And on and on...

LCG does believe in JUSTICE!

Justice like that of BUDFORD T. JUSTICE ...

the determined, foul-mouthed Texas sheriff, from Texarkana , who chased "the Bandit" all over the Southern United States in the movie "Smokey and the Bandit"

All the splinters follow Herb in rejecting justice. They use the "end justifies the means" justification. The "end" being unity, the church doctrines and traditions, the work etc. So when ever there's a problem, the ten commandments go out the window. Which is the religion of Satan and his demons.

Yes, it is surprising to see Doug Winnail discuss justice - but, I'd be more surprised to see him acknowledge justification. Winnail has been preaching for decades but has never preached a sermon or written even a blurb about the biblical concept of justification. His lack of knowledge of and interest in justification proves he is not a real Bible scholar or leader of any kind. No LCG ministers or members I know will discuss the concept of justification because it runs contrary to their pet belief that they can make themselves righteous - they won't even acknowledge the Bible verses that discuss justification. Justification relies on the righteousness of the Savior while LCG preaches that they are their own savior. Winnail's LCG believes that righteousness and salvation is dependent on the works of men and they have no interest in man's righteousness and salvation based solely on the works of Jesus.

Rigidity and unadventurism is how church leaders get promoted and hang on to their jobs and pensions. So don't hold your breath in hoping for change in any of these ACOGs.

Winnail cannot preach about justification or grace because he has been alienated from Jesus:
Galatians 5:4
You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace.

Original Christianity, was fired up about justification and grace.
Winnal's and LCG's fake christianity, doesnt care enough to about these biblical concepts to preach one sermon or write one little article about them.
The alienated Winnail tries to convince the LCG sheep that LCG practices original Christianity, yet he hides much of the Bible from them - the very verses that meant everything to original Christianity.

Some few of the very many verses the alienated Winnail will never preach about:

Galatians 2:16
know that a person is not justified by the works of the law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by the works of the law, because by the works of the law no one will be justified.

Galatians 3:11
Clearly no one who relies on the law is justified before God, because “the righteous will live by faith.”

Galatians 3:24
So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith.

Romans 3:24
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Ephesians 2:8-9

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.

Acts 15:11
We believe it is through the grace of our Lord Jesus that we are saved, just as they are.

Galatians 2:21
I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!

Ephesians 2:5
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.

Titus 3:7
so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.

Romans 3:24
and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

Romans 3:28
For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.

Romans 5:1
[ Peace and Hope ] Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

Romans 5:9
Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

Romans 10:10
For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.

Anon 5:41 pm, we could also add the following to your list:

Romans 8:29-30 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.
