Sounds as if The Great Packster is lying.. Would he? Could he be?

Members not leaving? In Europe at least 3 members left last year alone..

I wonder how many opened up a new browser window, went to easymp3converter.com, and grabbed the audio of the "Christ is returning this week!" sermon before it was too late.

I know I did...

To RCG members who may come on Banned:

Do not fear the example Dave cites in Acts of Ananias and Saphira , two members, who are the stars in the story of what happens when you lie to the Holy Spirit and "break common" rules.

It never actually happened. It's a in house poke and joke at Peter, who announces judgement on them. Luke was a fan of Paul and wrote Acts, far as we know. Acts is really all about Paul with all others as bit players, including Peter. Paul and Luke did not like Peter and used this story to make fun of him and send the readers the message not to follow him.

Here it is... Here we have the Great Peter (who you should not follow and follow us) killing off two church members (Impossible in real life under Roman Rule without consequences. You can't just do that and then go bury them in the yard) for saying one thing, (we gave all) and doing another (we held a bit back for us). This is what Peter did to Jesus when he said he'd give all to Jesus. Peter also said he would do one thing, (Never leave Jesus) and did another (denied and abandoned him). Ha ha...what a hypocrite Peter is! Don't follow Peter was the message.

The author of John was also anti Peter and wrote that into the texts. Every time he mentions Peter he does so sandwiching him in between two comments about Judas (It's called Intercalation or sandwiching in the vernacular) It means the person mentioned in the middle is like the person that makes up the sandwich they are in textually. In John's view, Peter was a Judas. Judas betrayed-Peter denied-no difference-don't follow Peter.

A modern example would be like, say, Dave Pack puts two people out of the Church for saying one thing, (no we did't send out your sermons ) and doing another (sending out the sermons) while Dave Pack says one thing...

("Now, if I became deceived, I will never tell you what I'm going to tell you now...I am telling you if I go off into strange ideas, misconduct, rebellion, you name it, don't follow me.

I want to tell you that now, because if I start doing that I'm gonna try to get you to follow me! I'm gonna come to you and tell you it doesn't apply, it doesn't mean me, no, no, no, no, no, no, it's OK to follow me because ABCD and XY and Z. Do you understand what I'm saying?

Listen to me now, when I tell you don't follow me if I go off into weird ideas, or if I get off into other things that are total absolutely unscriptural conduct, because if I do I'm gonna paint it with a different face and try to get you to follow me. Do you understand what I'm saying brethren?

Please remember that, because I promise you that if I become deceived, I'll forget it, and I'll want you to forget it...And I HOPE YOU'LL REMEMBER IT WELL ENOUGH TO QUOTE IT RIGHT BACK TO ME... But I'll tell you what, I'm not going anywhere."} ...and then goes off and starts his own church.. Something like that :)

One means "Don't follow Peter" while the other says "Don't follow Dave"

If Jesus is coming back this week, why are they worried about this?

If anyone is a liar and a thief, it is Dave cunning Pack.

Only a fool would follow this man and only a dumber fool would hand over their money to him. Their was never a concept called common. What was going on was that a collection was being taken up to support the starving members in Jerusalem due to a famine.

Pack the cunning liar and thief, spends his time dreaming up false doctrines that would jerk members into handing him even more of their hard earned cash. He uses the good name of Christ for his own end.

Truly this man is heading towards the lake of fire.

What was going on was that a collection was being taken up to support the starving members in Jerusalem due to a famine.

I thought that common was based on Acts 4, 5, 6, where the new converts were staying in Jerusalem after Pentecost. We know from statements about "tongues" that people attending the feast were from all over the place. A few commentaries suggested those from the diaspora wanted to learn as much as they could before returning home - the money used for the pilgrimage to Jerusalem only went so far (like second tithe...)

Gathering money "on the first day of the week" for the famine was a different issue -- used by Protestant pastors to "prove" Sunday worship with a collection! (Similarly, I heard such pastors claiming every time "break bread" is mentioned it's a communion service...)

As with any person, Pack’s true colors will start showing when pressure is applied.

You can already see the first cracks in his facade appearing. Keep applying pressure and he will snap..

I refer to Dave Pack and others like him as white flag Christians. They have waved the white flag and surrendered to Satan's way. They've resigned themselves to the lake of fire. The pattern in their behavior gives them away. There were members in this category when I attended services.

Dennis, where does it say that Peter killed Ananias and Saphira? You are totally messed up!
